Introduction
ThisChapterprovidesdetailsof the Wireless HD Doorbell
Camera'sfeatures, componentsand capabilities.
Overview
DBC831 isaWiFienabled videodoorbellcamerathatletsyou answer
the doorfromyouriOSorAndroidmobiledeviceno matterwhereyou
areintheworld.Thisdevicefeaturesavideo camera, built-in
microphone andaspeakerthat allowsyou tosee, hearand speakto
yourvisitorsfromasmart phone, tablet orPC. (The customersare
requiredtomaketheirownAPP orserverwhichcan communicatewith
doorbellcamera. Sercommcan support thecustomized API for
development based on customer sdefinition.)
It isalsoan all-in-onecamerathat hasautomaticand manualday/night
switching, PIRsensorand IRillumination,whichcan provide
illumination around3meterslong underlowlight conditionsinasimple,
economicalmanner.
Thisdevice, whichattachestoyourcurrent doorbellwires,iseasy to
installand connectstoyourhomeinternet through WiFi.Whenavisitor
ringsthe doorbell, the devicewillsend an alert toone orseveralpeople
and eachpersoncan accept orignorethecall.

•Doorbell Camera. Takesasnapshot/livevideo when avisitorrings
the doorbell, soyou can see who isoutside. It alsoallowsyou to
streamvideo, audioorbothsimultaneously.
Note Theintercomisup to2minutes.
•MultipleUsersSupport. Allowsforup to5userson anaccount so
an entirefamilycanreceivealertswhen avisitorringsthe doorbell.
•Dual VideoSupport. The Wireless HD DoorbellCameracan
support H.264 and MJEPG video fordifferentimage compression.
•SuitableforHome, Business orPublicFacilities. Whetherfor
Home, Business orPublicFacilitysurveillance, the Wireless HD
DoorbellCamerahasthe featuresyou need.
•Day/NightSwitch. Withtheday/night switching feature, youare
abletoviewand recordbetterimageseven inthe darkof night.
•IRLEDSupport. EachWireless HD DoorbellCamerahasahigh
powerinfraredLED. TheLEDcan provide illumination around3

withaPIRSensor, whichsensesinfrared lightradiating fromhuman

forbackwardcompatibilitywiththe 802.11b standard,so802.11n,
802.11b and 802.11gWireless stationscan beused simultaneously.
•Wireless NetworkSupport. The Wireless HDDoorbellCamera
supportswireless transmission.
•WPS Support. WPS (WiFiProtectedSetup)can simplifythe
process of connecting anydevicetothe wireless networkbyusing
the pushbutton configuration (PBC)on theWireless HD Doorbell
Camera, orenteringaPINcode ifthere'snobutton.

BasicSetup
ThisChapterprovidesdetailson howtoinstall and
configurethe Wireless HD Doorbell Camera.
SystemRequirements
•Tousethe Wireless interfaceon the wireless model, otherWireless
devicesmust be compliant withthe IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g,or
IEEE802.11n specifications. AllWireless stationsmust use
compatiblesettings.

Lens Nophysicaladjustment isrequired orpossiblefor

Thisbuttonhasthree functions:
1. WPS. Pushthe WPS button on thedevice

encryption-secured wireless connection
automatically.
•WPS PBC Mode. When pressed and
released (up to15 seconds),the Wireless
HD DoorbellCamerawillbe inthe WPS
PBCmode (Autolinkmode).
•WPS PinCodeMode. When pressed
andheldfor5-15 seconds, theWireless
HD DoorbellCamerawillbe inthe WPS
PinCode mode.
Note:whenWiFi isconnected, theWPS
buttonisdisabled.
2. Doorbell. Press the buttontoringthe bell.

Note DonotpowerofftheDoorbell while
thedriverupgrading.
•On(Blue) -Poweron and PIRfunction is
triggered.
•Off (Blue) -The doorbellbutton ispressed
byavisitor.

BeforeYouBegin
CheckingDoorbell ChimeType(Thecustomersrequiretodevelop
theirownApp toswitchthedoorbell chimetype)
If yourexisting doorbellproducesan electronicsound thatis
programmableandcomesinthe formof aunique sound,it'sadigital
chime. If it hasatraditional"ding dong"sound, it'sacompatibleanalog
chime.
ChargingDoorbell Camera
Usethe suppliedmicroUSB cabletorechargethe batterywhileyou are
setting the doorbellcamerafirst. Afterthen, turnthe doorbellcamera
switch(on theback)on. Makesurethat the DoorbellCamera sinternal
batteryhasreceived enough powerafteryouvemounted it toyour
doorbellwiring.
WirelessHDDoorbell CameraInstallation
DBC831 requiresconnectionstoadoorbellchimeand atransformer.
Simplyremoveyourexisting doorbellbutton and connectone wireon
the DoorbellCameratothe chimeand the otherwiretothe transformer.
Note: PleaseensurethattheWirelessHD Doorbell Cameraisconfiguredand
addedtothe networkbeforemounting it.
Note: IfDBC831isusingforengineeringdevelop purpose, it isavailableto
useMircoUSBcabletochargethebatteryforreplacingthe transformer.And
doorbell doesnotrequiretoattachwiththechimer.
Note: The MicroUSBchargerisonlyavailable
on5V2Aadapterplug. Donot
plugMicroUSB cableonthePCforcharging.
Step1: Startthe APP whichcustomized bycustomersorthe web page
forpairing process.
Step2: Usethe supplied microUSB cabletorecharge the batterywhile
you aresetting the doorbellcamerafirst. Add the Wireless HD Doorbell
Cameratoyournetwork.
1)Wireless HD Doorbellwilldetect theWireless device(AP orrouter)
whichis DisabletheWireless Security automatically.
ThedefaultWireless settingsare:
Mode:Infrastructure
SSID:ANY
Wireless Security:Disabled
Domain:USA
Channel No.:Auto

2)Press the Doorbell/WPS button of the cameraforup to15 seconds
and on yourWirelessdevice(AP orrouter)aswell toestablisha
wirelessconnection automatically.The wireless connection is
successfulwhen the LED(Amber) isfast blinking.
3)Obtainthe IPAddress of Doorbellon Wirelessdevice(AP orrouter)
devicepage. And start the Internet Explorer.Afterthen enterthe IP
Address of Doorbellonthe Address boxof Internet Explorer(ex.
http://192.168.1.223)
4)Whenyou connect, thefollowing screenwillbedisplayed.
5)Click View Video.
6)The firsttimeyou connect tothecamera, you willbe prompted to
installdecoders.
Choose"Iacceptthe termsofthe licenseagreement"and click "OK".
Note: The optionscan onlybeconfiguredwhileusing IEbrowser.Other
browserscanjustviewthevideoratherthan configuration.

7)Video willstart playingautomatically.Theremaybe adelayof afew
secondswhilethevideo streamisbuffered.
8)If the Administratorhasrestrictedaccess toknownusers, you will
then be prompted forausernameand password.
Enterthe nameand passwordassigned toyoubythe Doorbell
administrator.

GUI.

Step3: Switchtoanalogordigitalchimeaccording toyourexisting
doorbellinthe process.(Thecustomersarerequired todevelopthis
featureon theApp)
Step4: Completethe pairing process and unplugthe MicroUSB cable
fromthe DoorbellCamera.
Step5: Identifythe location formounting the DoorbellCamera. The
recommended installationheightof theDoorbellCameraisabout
130~150cmfromthe ground.
Step6: Removethe screwsfromlegacy doorbellon the walland
disconnect thewires.
Step7: Usethe twoscrewstosecurethe mounting bracket tothe wall.
Note: The providedgradientercanbe used formeasuringanglestoprevent
inclination.

Step8: Connect the ACwiresonthe Doorbell Cameratothe chimeand
transformerbyusing the provided spliceconnectors, asshowninthe
followingdiagram. Usethe plierstoconnect thewiresbyusingthe two
spliceconnectorstoensurethe wiresarefirmlyattaching together.
Step9: Turnthe switch(on the back)on.

Step10: AttachtheDoorbellCameratothe mounting bracketand
securethemwiththe anti-theft screwviathe Allen key. Makesurethe
DoorbellCameraisfirmlyfixed and working properly.
Note: Ifthe Doorbell Cameraisbeingtriggeredtoooften,thebatterycapacity
tendstodecreaseat lowleveland thenthecamerawill just support ring-only
mode.
