Connection•: Rad Wire: + 12 or +24 Volts, 3.5Amps at 12Volts, 1.8 Amps at 24 Volts.

button' that connects this wire to ground.}
Orange, Yellow Wire: Shadow-NET'"connections. These are for connection to a
Shadow-NET'"compatible controller. If no Shadow-NET'"
connection is present, simply leave unconnected.
Operation: The Color-Caster'"SCM-CC'" is an underwater light that can be easily
changed between four colors: Blue, White, Green and Red.
There are (3) three ways of communicating with the light and telling it to change colors:
1. Power Toggle Control: Done by quickly turning the input power off and then back on
within 2seconds.
2. Push Button Control: This is an optional control that can be accomplished by installing
a push buttonconnected between the Ground and Green Wire (See Figure 1).
3. Communicating directly to the light with the Shadow-NET'" interface. This is done by
installing a Shadow-NET™ enabled Controller.
Power switch toggle: The Color-Caster'" has unique circuitry to detect when the power has
been toggled. The lights must be turned off and then back on within 2 seconds for this
condition to be recognized. Toggling the power input will change the Color-Caster'" light to
the next color state. Toggling the Power Switch will cycle through the available colors in the
sequence of Blue, White, Green and Red. When the power is turned off for more than 10-
seconds, the lights will reset and return to the Blue Color State.
Push Button: The push button interface requires the installation of a push button switch.
This will access the additional features listed below. Shadow-Caster• provides a
marine grade ON/OFF switch with integrated power toggle and push button
switch. The appropriate wiring for this is shown in (See Figure 1).

By pressing the Push Button switch, the Color-Caster"'SCM-CC"'will go
through the following modes ofoperation:
1. Strobe: The lights will strobe on whichever color it is currently on.
2. Blue to White Fade: The Color-Caster'"SCM-CC'" will fade from white to
blue. They will changecolors approximately every, 20 seconds
3. {4J Color Fade: The Color-Caster"'SCM-CC"'will rotate between all four
available colors on a20-second cycle (1st: Blue, 2nd: White, 3rd: Red, and
4th:Green)
4. Flash: The lights will flash on whichever color they are set to.
5. Multi -Color Flash: The lights will flash and consecutively
alternate between Red, Green, Blue and White.
6. Back to Solid Color

The following steps are recommended to properly install your SCM-Series TM underwater lights. Avoiding to do so may void your
warranty.
1) Choose mounting location -The lights require water cooling and should be installed on a flat surface area that is frequently
submerged, splashed, or sprayed. Also consider the area inside the boat where the wire will enter and make sure it will be
accessible to retrieve the wire. It IS recommended to mount the light as low as possible for optimal water penetration and
cooling. It IS NOT recommended to mountthe lights on the bottom of the hull because itwill create drag and increase the risk
of damagewhen beaching the vessel and from floating debris.
2) The provided template can be used for finding an appropriate mounting location. Verify that the template matches the
mounting holes on the light if using this as a drill template. Makesure you are drilling into a place where you can get to the hole
from inside the boatin orderto feed wire. Mark center drill location with pencil. Removetemplateand store in a safeplace.

6) With the light against the hull in the location to be mounted, use the actual mounting holes of the light to mark one mounting
hole. Drill that hole with an appropriately sized drill (9/64 is typical for #8 screws). Be sure the drill is not over sized or
undersized. An undersized hole can cause the screw to break, over sizethe hole and the hole will strip. With the light in place
thread a screwinto the hole. Now markand drill the lastmounting hole.
7) This procedure will prevent damage to the rubber boot where the cable comes out of the light. Gross misalignment of the
mounting screw holes can cause excessive side loads on the boot. Now check the mounting hole alignment with the light
againstthe hull in the mounting location. If the mounting holesarenotboth easilyvisible through the holes in the light, then the
centerhole forthe cable must be reamed untilthe lightcan be aligned with the mounting holes.
8) Place a sufficient amount of silicone or 3M®4200 marine sealant on the hull around all three holes to seal them against the
light's base plate.
9) Fill the screwholeswith sealant.
10) Useprovided screws (Qty 2) to mount lightto the hull. Ifalternate screwsare used they must be passivated 316 stainless steel
(generally militaryspecscrewsare passivated). Donotusebronze screws as this will causegalvaniccorrosion.
11) Installwiring:
a. Route wire through the boat in a manor such that it is tied up out of standing water and protected from excessive heat or
abrasion.
b. Route wire to a switch rated at a minimum of twice the continues current draw (i.e. for two SCM-10TM lights: 3.5 amps x 2
lights x2 = 14)[amp switch and circuit breakerminimum rating]. Switch notprovided.
c. Red wire is positive, black wire is ground. Reversing the polarity will void your warranty.The lights must be wired through a
fuse or circuit breaker. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD CAUSE A FIREAND INJURY OR DEATH. Each light should be fused
separatelyand will require 4 amps at 12volts,with a 7.5 amp fuse to handle in-rush current.
d. Blue wire is the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control wire. This is to control strobing and dimming functions integrated

Follow these steps to maintain maximum light intensity
Clean your Shadow-Caster· MarineLED lights frequently with a soft bristle brush. We
recommend that installed Shadow-Caster· Marine LED lights be cleaned every two
(no more than four) weeks for "live in water" boats and rinsed every time the boat is
pulled out of the water to prevent marine growth buildup and biofouling.
Shadow-Caster•Marine LED lights are constructed with the highest quality stainless
steel. However, minimal staining can occur . If staining does occur, apply naval jelly
per manufacturers Instructions. For additional maintenance tips , refer to our
website (www .shadow-caster.com). Do not use acetone because it will
damage the polycarbonate lens.

Two (2) Year Limited Warranty
Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting, LLC warrants the hardware products it manufactures and
produces to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for two years following the date
of shipment from Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting. This warranty is limited to the original
purchaser of product and is not transferable and shall not exceed the purchase price paid for
the product.
During the two year warranty period, Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting will repair or replace, at its
option, any defective products or parts at no additional charge, provided that the product is
returned, shipping prepaid, to Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting. For this return to be considered
valid, the product must have been registered within 30 days of the purchase of the product. All
replaced parts and products become the property of Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting. Before
returning any product for repair, customers are required to contact Shadow-Caster at (727) 474-
2877 for a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT EXTEND TO ANY PRODUCTS WHICH HAVE BEEN
DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF ACCIDENT, MISUSE, ABUSE (such as: use of incorrect input
voltages, improper or insufficient ventilation, improper installation, failure to follow the operating
instructions that are provided by Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting, "acts of God," or other
contingencies beyond the control of Shadow-Caster® LED Lighting), OR AS A RESULT OF
