ABOUT THIS MANUAL
This manual is intended to help you et the most performance and
safety out of your new bicycle. It is very important for you to
understand your new bicycle. By readin this manual before your
take your first ride on your new bicycle, you will learn how to et the
most out of your ridin experience with this bicycle.
GENERAL WARNING
GENERAL WARNING
Bicycle ridin can be a dan erous activity even under the most
controlled circumstances. Proper maintenance of your bicycle is your
responsibility as it reduces the risk of injury. This manual contains
many “Warnin s” and “Cautions” re ardin the consequences of
failure to maintain or inspect your bicycle re ularly. Many of the
warnin s and cautions state “you may lose control of the bicycle and
fall.” Any fall can result in serious injury or even death.

NOTE FOR PARENTS
Unfortunately, many bicycle accidents involve children.
As a parent or le al uardian, you are responsible for the safety of
your child. Please make sure that the bicycle your child is ridin has
been properly adjusted and fits your child and is in safe operatin
condition.
It is also important that your child understands and follows the local
traffic laws, and rides in a safe manner. As a parent/ uardian, you
should read this manual before allowin your child to ride their new
bike. Please make sure that your child wears an approved helmet
every time they ride their bicycle.

SAFETY CHECKLIST TO BE PERFORMED PRIOR TO EVERY BICYCLE RIDE
1.) Brakes
- Make sure that the front and rear brakes work properly
- Make sure that the brake pads are in ood condition, and contact
to the rim correctly
- Make sure that the brake cables are in ood condition and do not look
worn out
- Make sure that the brake levers are securely adjusted on the handlebars
2.) Wheels and Tires
- Make sure that the tires are properly inflated to the limit listed on the
side

worn out
- Make sure that the rims are strai ht, and do not have any wobbles or
hops
- Make sure that the spokes are tensioned correctly, and that there are no

- Make sure that the axle nuts are ti ht

- Make sure that the handlebars and stem are correctly adjusted and ti htened
- Make sure that the handlebars are in the correct position in re ards to the fork
- Check to see if the headset is adjusted properly, and the steerin is not
hindered at all
4.) Chain
- Make sure that the chain is lubricated, clean, and works smoothly
5.) Seat/Seatpost
- Make sure that the seat is firmly attached to the seatpost, and is not loose
- Make sure the seatpost hei ht is adjusted correctly and not above the limit
line for hei ht
6.) Cranks and Pedals
- Make sure that the cranks are securely ti htened and are not loose or bent
- Make sure that the pedals are securely ti htened to the cranks
7.) Frame and Fork
- Make sure that there are no cracks on the frame, especially on or around the
welds
- Make sure that the frame and fork are not bent or broken

RIDING SAFELY/GENERAL RULES
ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET
When ridin always obey the same motor laws as other vehicles-

HELMETS
It is important that you wear a ANSI or SNELL approved bicycle helmet every
time that you ride your bicycle. Make sure that the helmet is comfortable,
li htwei ht, has ood ventilation, and is correctly adjusted to fit your head.

Do not ride on busy streets

INSTABILITY AND RECOMMENDS AGAINSTDOING SO. CHILDREN SHOULD BE
MADE AWARE OF ALL POSSIBLE RIDING HAZARDS PRIOR TO RIDING THEIR
BICYCLE.

Assembly is the same for boys and girls bikes.
Foreword: Assembling a bicycle is an important responsibility. Proper assembly not only
gives the rider more en oyment of the bicycle, it also offers an important measure of
safety.
GETTING STARTED
Open the carton from the top and remove the bicycle. Remove the straps and protective
wrappin from the bicycle. Inspect the bicycle and all accessories and parts for possible
wrappin from the bicycle. Inspect the bicycle and all accessories and parts for possible
shorta es. It is recommended that the threads and all movin parts in the parts packa e
be lubricated prior to installation. Do not discard packin materials until assembly is
complete to ensure that no required parts are accidentally discarded. Assemble your
bicycle followin the steps that pertain to your model.
NOTE: Your bicycle may be equipped with different style components than the ones
illustrated.

FRONTWHEEL
1. Make sure the brakes are loose enough to allow the wheel to pass through the
brake pads easily.
2. Place wheel into fork drop outs.
3. Install retaining washers with raised lip pointed towards the fork, and insert into the
small hole of the fork blade.
4. Install axle nut and tighten. Make sure the wheel is centered between the fork
blades.
5. Spin the wheel to make sure that it is centered and clears the brake shoes. Tighten
the brakes if necessary.

6. Turn the bicycle upright using the kickstand to support it.
WARNING
It is very important to check the front wheel connection to the bicycle. Failure to
properly ti hten may cause the front wheel to dislod e causin serious injury or death.

HANDLEBARS
Most of our bikes are equipped with a
“quill” stem (see illustration). To assemble
the handlebars remove the protective cap
from the wed e end of the stem bolt and
loosen the bolt usin the 6 mm Allen key.
Some models may use a 13 mm hexa onal
bolt instead of an Allen key bolt. Place the
handlebar stem into the top of the steer tube
which is the top end of the fork that has been
inserted into the head tube at the factory,
inserted into the head tube at the factory,
ensurin that all cables are free of tan les.
Ti hten the stem bolt observin the Minimum
Insertion Mark and checkin that the forks
and the handlebars are facin forward. After
the stem bolt is tested ti ht
(see Important Note below), ad ust handlebars to correct position. After the handlebar
stem has been fitted into the steer tube that is the top end of the fork and the two
pieces made firm with in the head tube the action of a stem bolt upon the wedge nut
binds with the inside of the steer tube to form a solid steering column.
