The P-965 processor is packed with useful perform-
ance features and equipped to play back the high-
est-quality audio and video sources available today.
Digital-to-analog conversion is handled by 24-
bit/192kHz DACs, and tow-channel PCM sources
are remastered to 24-bit/192kHz for improved reso-
lution. The Sherwood has three component-video
inputs, switched by relays for wide-bandwidth capa-
bility, and upconverts composite and S-video to
component video. Overall, a fine value with excel-
lent sound quality for film and good sound quality

The A-965 amplifier is a formidable piece of equip-
ment—a seven-channel amplifier with 100 watts
output for each channel into eight ohms, all chan-
nels driven simultaneously. The amp uses two
toroidal power transformers to supply its seven
monoblock amplifiers, and each channel has its
own circuit board, which minimizes crosstalk
between channels. Dynamic range is excellent and
