General Description
The Shure SM7dB dynamic microphone has a smooth, flat, wide•range frequen•
cy response appropriate for content creation, speech, music, and beyond. A
built-in active preamplifier provides up to +28 dB of low-noise, flat, transparent
gain while preserving frequency response for a clean, classic sound .While
other in -line boosting devices or interface preamplifiers may Introduce noise
or change the frequency response, the SM7dB's built-in preamp delivers the
legendary sound of the SM7B ,completely uncompromised. The SM7dB back
panel switches allow customized frequency response and the ability lo adjust or
bypass the preamp.

El mlcr6fono dinamico SM7dB de Shure tiene una respuesta en frecuencia
suave, plana y amplia, adecuada para la creaci6n de contenidos,conlerencias,
mllsica y mucho mas . El preamplificador activo incorporado proporciona hasta
mas de 28 dB de ganancia plana, transparente y con bajo nivel de ruido, a la
vez que preserva la respuesta en frecuencia para un sonido limpio y clasico.
Mientras que otros dispositlvos de refuerzo en Hnea o preamplificadores de
inter1az pueden producir ruido o cambiar la respuesta en frecuencia, el preampli-

des VorverstArkers.

Preamplifier Best Practices
Important: The SM7dB requires +48 V phantom power to operate with the preamplifier engaged. It will operate in bypass
mode without phantom power. Refer to the userguide for your mixer or interface to learn how to engage phantom power
To deliver audio directly to a computer, use a USB audio lnter1ace with an XLR microphone input that provides +48 V
phantom power, and turn phantom power on. When connecting to a mixer, use only balanced, microphone-level inputs with
phantom power.

Install or Remove the Stand Adapter
To mount the microphone on a 3/8 in. stand, insert the included brass stand adapter and tighten it with a coin or
screwdriver.

General Description
The Shure SM7dB dynamic microphone has a smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response appropriate for content creation,
speech,music,andbeyond.Abuiltinactivepreamplifierprovidesupto+28dBoflownoise,flat,transparentgainwhilepre
serving frequency response for a clean, classic sound. The SM7dB's built-in preamp delivers the legendary sound of the
SM7B,completelyuncompromisedandwithouttheneedforaninlinepreamplifier.TheSM7dBbackpanelswitchesallowcus
tomized frequency response and the ability to adjust or bypass the preamp.
Powering the SM7dB Preamplifier
Important: The SM7dB requires +48 V phantom power to operate with the preamplifier engaged. It will operate in bypass
mode without phantom power.
To deliver audio directly to a computer, use an audio interface with an XLR input that provides +48 V phantom power, such as
the Shure MVi or MVX2U, and turn phantom power on.
When connecting to a mixer, use only balanced, microphone-level inputs with phantom power. Turn phantom power on for the
channel your SM7dB is connected to.
Depending on your interface or mixer, phantom power may be enabled through a switch, a button, or control software. Refer to
the user guide for your interface or mixer to learn how to engage phantom power.

Preamplifier Best Practices
TheSM7dBfeaturesabuiltinactivepreamplifierwhichprovidesupto+28dBoflownoise,flat,transparentgainthatopti
mizes audio performance.
Adjust the gain level on the SM7dB before adjusting levels on your interface or mixer. This approach maximizes the signal-to-
noise ratio for a cleaner, clearer sound.
In podcast or quiet vocal applications, you are more likely to need the +28 dB setting, while louder talkers or singers may only
needthe+18dBsetting.Forinstrumentalapplications,youmayfindthatthe+18dBorthebypasssettingsreachtheidealin
put levels.
Using Variable Impedance Mic Preamplifiers
Select the highest available impedance setting on the external preamp when using the built-in preamp.
If you are using a low impedance setting to change the tonality for creative purposes, bypass the SM7dB's built-in preamp.
Keeping the SM7dB preamp engaged with a low-impedance setting will not yield the same changes in tone.

Use the enclosed velcro tie to secure the cable.
Windscreen
Use the standard windscreen for general voice and instrumental applications.
When you speak, you may hear vocal pops from some consonant sounds (known as plosives). To prevent more plosive
sounds and wind noise, you can use the larger A7WS windscreen.

HVAC, or traffic.

Switching Microphone Orientation
Boom and Microphone Stand Mounting Configuration
The SM7dB can be mounted on a boom arm or a stand. The default setup for the SM7dB is for a boom mount. To keep the
rear panel facing upright when mounted on a stand, reconfigure the mounting assembly.
To set up the SM7dB for a microphone stand:
Remove tightening nuts on the sides.
Remove the fitted washers, the lock washers, the outer brass washers, and the brass sleeves.
Slide the bracket off the microphone. Be careful not to lose the washers still on the microphone.
Invert and rotate the bracket. Slide it back onto the bolts over the brass and plastic washers still on the microphone.
ThebracketshouldfitsotheXLRconnectorfacestherearofthemicrophoneandtheShurelogoonthebackofthemi
crophone is right-side up.
Replace the brass sleeves. Be sure they are seated properly within the inner washers.
Replace the outer brass washers, the lock washers, and the fitted washers.
Replace the tightening nuts and tighten the microphone at the desired angle.
Note: If the tightening nuts do not hold the microphone in place, you may need to re-position the brass sleeves and the washers.

prime acquisto. Tuttavia, le batterie ricaricabili sono materiali di consume la cui capaclta sl riduce nel tempo in relazione a temperatura, durata di
stoccaggio, dell di carica ed altri fattori; quindi, la riduzione delta capacita de!le batterie non rappresenta un difetto di materiale o manodopera.
A propria ed escluslva discrezione, Shure prowedera a riparare o sostituire ii prodotto difettoso eve lo restituirit in tempi brevi. Ai fini della
validita deUa presente garanzia, af memento della restituzione del prodotto, l'acquirente 8 tenuto a presenlare lo scontrino originale, emesso

Beperkte Garantie
Shure Incorporated rshure·) garandeert uitsluitend de oorspronkelijke koper dat dit product bij normaal gebruik geen materiaal- of constructi-
efouten bevat. Met uitzondering van de onderstaande gevallen is deze garantie twee (2) jaargeldig vanaf de oorspronkelijke datum waarop het
product direct bij Shure of een door Shure erkende wederverkoper is gekocht.
Voor oplaadbare batterijen die in dit product zijn opgenomen of erbij zijn meegeleverd, geld!deze garantie 88n (1) jaar vanaf de oorspronkelijke
aankoopdatum. Oplaadbare batterijen zijn echter onderhevig aan slijtage en de capaciteit ervan neemt na verloop van tijd al als gevolg van
factoren zeals temperatuur, opslagtijd, oplaadcycli, enz. Daarom wordt de afname van de capaciteit van de batterijen nlet als materiaal- of
constructlefout beschouwd.
Shure zal geheel naar eigen inzicht hetdefecte product repareren of vervangen en zo snel mogelijk aan u retoumeren. Deze garantie Is alleen
geldlg als de kopers op het moment dal ze he! product retourneren, een aankoopbewijs overhandigen in de vorm van de originele aankoopbon
die ze direct van Shure of een doorShure erk.ende wederverkoper hebben ontvangen. Als Shure ervoor kiest het defecte product te vervangen,
behoudt Shure zich het recht voor het delecte product te vervangen door een ander product van hetzelfde model of van een model dat minstens
dezelfde kwalitelt en functies heefl, zulks uitsluitend ter beoordeling van Shure.
Als u van mening bent datdit product binnen de garantieperiode gebreken bevat, pakt u het product voorzichlig opnieuw in, venekert u he! en
retourneert u het franco met het aankoopbewijs aan Shure Incorporated, ter attentie van: Service Department, op hetonderstaande adres.
Buiten de Verenigde Staten retourneert u het product aan de handelaar of een erkend servicecentrum van Shure. De adressen worden op www.
