Quick-Start Guide
Step 3Software Installation
1. Insert the SpeedStream®USB 10/100 Ethernet adapter Installation CD into your CD ROM drive.
2. The New Hardware Wizard will appear.
3. When prompted for the device driver location, select CD ROM drive.
4. Click Next.
5. Follow the on screen instructions.
6. When prompted, click Yes to reboot.
When the reboot is complete, verify that the USB 10/100 Ethernet adapter
has a valid connection by observing the LED light.

OFF No network connectivity
or No driver loaded
ON 10 Mbps connection
Blinking 10 Mbps traffic
ON 100 Mbps connection
Blinking 100 Mbps traffic

Step 1Connect the USB Cable to the computer
Connect the USB cable to the USB port on your computer
Step 2Connect the Ethernet Cable
Using an RJ 45 cable (not included), connect the Ethernet port of the adapter
to an Ethernet modem, bridge, router, switch or hub.

Before installing the SpeedStream®USB 10/100 Ethernet Adapter, ensure that your PC is
equipped with the following. Note that the adapter is not installable on Macintosh computers.
• Microsoft®Windows®98 Retail, Windows®98 SE (Second Edition), Windows®2000, or
Windows®Me (Millennium Edition)
• 32 MB RAM
• Available USB Port
