specified in ARTD Part 2 must be observed.
After all work has been completed and after all covers have been fitted, the protective
conductor test must be carried out in accordance with ARTD-002.731.17. The protective
conductor resistance must not exceed 0.2 Ohms.

Requirements 2
•Themountingplatesfor the framegrabberare alreadyfittedin the monitortrolley.
•Theguiderails forthe printer,includingthe fan,arealready fittedin the monitortrolley.
•Thecablesfor thevideoprinterarealreadyinstalledin themonitor trolley.
Unpacking the printer 2
•Turnthebox with the printerupsidedownandopenthebottom of the box.
•Removethe foam material.
•Removethe plasticbag.
•Unscrew thewooden baseplate.
•Liftthe printercarefullyout oftheboxand place it on thefloor in theuprightposition.
•Turnthetwo transportlocks intoverticalposition and pullout in verticalposition
(Fig.1).

Keep the two transport locks. If the printer needs to be replaced
or sent in, the transport locks must be re-inserted.

•Pullout the twoguiderailscompletelytothe front.
•Placethe printeron the twoguiderails.
•Fig.4 shows the two drawn-outguide rails withthe attachedprinter frombelow.
•Placethe power chain(1/Fig.4)inasemicirclearound the anglebracket(2/Fig.4).
•Securetheprinterto the railswith the12screwssupplied.
•The3rearthreads oneach of the railscanbe accessed by pushingtheprinterthrough
theopenings(3/Fig.4).
•Pushtheprinter alltheway into themonitortrolleyand at thesametimeguide the power
chainthrough totherear.

•Attach the bracket (2/Fig. 5) at the printer with two screws.
•Unscrew thetwo screws(1/Fig.5) from the angle bracket (2/Fig. 5).
•Attachthepower chain(3/Fig.5) to the bracket(2/Fig.5) withthetwo screws (1/Fig.5).

•Guidethe connectorof the hand-heldcontrolunitfromthe front betweentheleft
attachmentrailand the power chain(as seen from thefront)throughtothe rear.
•Attachthe connectorof the hand-heldcontrol unitto the 9-pinSUB-D "HAND CTRL"
socketand secureitwith screws.
•Run the cable from the hand-heldcontrol unit to thecable holder (1/Fig. 6) andsecure it
witha cable tie.

•Insertthe connectorfromthepower cable inthepower socketoftheprinter(2/Fig.6).
•Theotherend of thepowercableis alreadyconnected tothe ON/OFF assembly,
terminalblockX2.1, X2.2 and theprotective conductorterminal.
•Insertthe control cable in theprinter socket and lock mechanically (3/Fig. 6).
•Insertthe powersupply for thefans in thesocket(4/Fig.6).

•Thepowercableis alreadyinstalledin the monitortrolleyandhas beenconnected.
•Insertthe connectorfromthepowercable inthepower socket ofthe framegrabber
(5/Fig. 6).
•Connect theadapter cable (3.5mm remotejack -BNC connector)from the remote
controlto theBNCsocket"B&W" and lock(6/Fig.6).
•Connect the3.5 mm jackat theother end ofthe adapter cable to the3.5 mm remote
connector(7/Fig.6). (Removetheheatshrinkbefore)
•One end of the printer control cable is already connected to theprinter.The printer
controlcableisfed to the framegrabbervia the powerchain and has a 25-pinSUB-D
connectorat thesecond cableend.
Connectthe 25-pinSUB-D connectorto the "PRINTER"socketof the framegrabber
(10/Fig.6).

•Connectone end of the video cableto the15-pinSUB-D socket oftheframegrabber
(8/Fig. 6).
•Withnoadditionalvideocomponents present,e.g. a videorecorder:
Runthe other endof the video cablethroughthe duct(14/Fig.6)tothe MEMOSKOP.
PlugtheBNC connector to the"OUT3"socketof theMEMOSKOP and lock.
•Withvideorecorderpresent:
Runthe other endof the video cabletothe video recorder.
•Connectthe BNC connectorto thelooped-throughoutputof thevideorecorderand lock.
•The 75-ohm terminator onthe videorecorder mustbe disconnected orunplugged.
Power switch 2
•Switchon power to the printer(11/Fig.6).
•Switchon power to the framegrabber(12/Fig.6).
•Loadthefilm cassettewith filmscreens and insertin theprinter.
•Additional steps: see Startup section.
The framegrabber is equipped with a 75-ohm terminating resistor
which cannot be disconnected. If additional video components,
e.g. a video printer or video recorder, are present, the framegrab-
ber must always be wired as the last video component.

Replacing fuse F5 2
Requirements
•Thesystemmust be isolatedfrom the power supply.Unplug the powerconnector from
thepowersocket.
•Openthe rear cover ofthemonitor trolley.
Checking or replacing fuse F5 2
•Check thevalue of fuse F5 onboard D50of the ON/OFF assembly(installed in the
bottomshelf ofthemonitortrolley).
•Ifa 4 AT fuse is fitted,replaceitwith the 6.25AT fusesupplied.
•On boardD50, stickthe label (6.25AT) suppliedontopofthe fuse label(4 AT).
•Manuallychangethefuse valueof the F5 fuseto6.25AT in the wiringdiagram.
•Enterthe remark"Condonics printerinstalled"togetherwiththe date and yourinitials.
The system must be isolated from the power supply before begin-
ning work. Unplug the power connector for the system from the
power socket!

•Remove the dummy covers from thedrill holes(1, 2, 3/Fig. 7).
•Placethe two fan plates(1/Fig.8) on theshelf(4/Fig.8) of the monitortrolley.
Theinstallationholesfor thetwofanplates(1/Fig. 8)are exactly abovethe drillholes
(1/Fig. 7).
•Presstheinstallation plateforthe framegrabber(2/Fig.8) from belowagainstthe shelf
(4/Fig.8).The threadedholesof the installationplateare alsoexactly belowthedrill
holes(1/Fig.7).
•Attachboth fan plates(1/Fig.8) to the installationplate of the framegrabber(2/Fig.8)
withthe 4 screws.Lockwashersare not required,sincethescrewssuppliedarecoated
with Loctite.
•Placethe two guiderails (Fig.9)on the two plates(1/Fig.8).
•Therailscan be pulledouttowards thefront.
•Theattachmentholesoftheguide railsare exactlyabove the threaded holesof the
plates(1/Fig.8).
•Securetheguide railsto the plateswith 8 screws(Fig.9).
•Lockwashersare not required,sinceself-lockingnutsare attachedto the mounting
plate.
•The frontscrew holes can beaccessed bypullingout the rails (Fig.9).

•Runtheendof the power cablewiththe free cableends fromtheframegrabberto the
lateralduct(13/Fig.15) up to the ON/OFFassembly.
•Connectthe two ends (bnandbl)of the powercableto terminalblocks X2.1 and X2.2.
•Connectthe protectiveconductor(ye/gn) ofthe powercable to the protectiveconductor
terminal.
•Insertthe connectorfrom thepower cable in thepower socketoftheframegrabber
(5/Fig.15).
•Runtheendof the remotecable(7/Fig. 15)from the framegrabberto the MEMOSKOP.
•Connect the9-pin SUB-Dconnectorto the MEMOSKOP "Printer"socket and secure
withscrews.
•Connect theadapter cable for the remote control (3.5mm jack - BNC connector) tothe
"B&W"BNCsocketand lock (6/Fig.15).
•Connect the3.5 mm jackat theother end ofthe adaptercable to the 3.5 mm remote
connector(7/Fig.15).Remove firstthe heatshrink.
•Oneend of the printercontrolcable is alreadyconnectedtotheprinter.The printer
controlcableisfed to the framegrabberviathepower chain and hasa 25-pin SUB-D
connectorat thesecondcable end.
Connectthe 25-pinSUB-Dconnectorto the"Printer"socketof theframegrabber
(10/Fig.15).

•Connectone end of the video cableto the 15-pinSUB-Dsocket"Video In"of the
framegrabber(8/Fig.15).
•Withno additionalvideo componentspresent,e.g.a videorecorder:
Runtheotherend of thevideocable throughthe rightduct(14/Fig.15) to the
MEMOSKOP. Plug the BNC connectorto the "OUT3"socketof the MEMOSKOP and
lock.
•Withvideorecorderor vidoeprinterpresent:
Runtheotherend of the videocableto the video recorderor videoprinter.
•Connectthe BNC connectortothelooped-throughoutputof thevideo recorderor
vidoeprinter andlock.
•The 75-ohm terminator onthe videorecorder orvideo printer mustbe disconnected or
unplugged.
The framegrabber is equipped with a 75-ohm terminating resistor
which cannot be disconnected. If additional video components,
e.g. a video printer or video recorder, are present, the framegrab-
ber must always be wired as the last video component.
