press and crimp the metal ring
securely onto the cable jacket.
Incorrect:
Jacket is not
under crimp
ring.

While maintaining inward
pressure on cable, use the
diagonal cutters or equivalent to
trim excess conductors flush with
termination cap.

Using the CPT cable prepara-
tion tool or equivalent, strip
off approximately 1-2 inches (25-
51mm) of cable jacket.

housing with the rounded
side forward (contact side).

Install boot, narrow end first.

Maintain inward pressure on
cable and use parallel jaw
pliers to terminate conductors.
Squeeze cap flush with connector
housing.
Note: Cable jacket should be up
against termination cap.

Lace the conductors through
the housing and the crimp

with color-coded dot on cap.
