Product Introduction
The EnduraLAM 24 is a simple and affordable desktop laminator designed
for use with wide-format and desktop printers such as the PrismJET VJ24 and
Roland BN-20. The EnduraLAM is engineered with over 25 years of experience
in the manufacture of large-format finishing equipment. The EnduraLAM 24
features automatic take-up of release liner and other features designed to
make laminating digital prints efficient and productive. It is simple and
economical, but still quite capable.
The basic principle of the EnduraLAM 24’s operation: the drive motors turn
to top and bottom rollers. The media and liner rollers are friction driven. This
design makes it simple and affordable. The upright media support brackets
have been strengthened to accommodate the weight of 24” by 50-yard rolls of
overlaminate film.
This machine is comprised of motor driven pressure rollers and
friction-driven media and liner take-up rollers. It can be used to laminate short
panels or long jobs. The machine is designed to conserve power and can be
run at variable speeds.

EnduraLAM 24: Setup and Operation
1. Before unpacking, carefully check for signs of apparent shipping
damage. If there is any indication that the product has been damaged,
note it on the bill of lading and contact SIGNWarehouse Product Support
or Customer Service at your earliest opportunity.
2. The power supply should match the power requirements on the
nameplate and specifications. Use a grounded three-plug power cable.
Do not change the ground wiring.
3. Controlling Feed Direction: Use the Direction toggle switch to
determine the rotating direction of the pressure rollers. To feed media
forward, press the top of the toggle switch. Press the bottom of the toggle
switch to reverse the feed and eject media.
The ON/OFF toggle switch works the same way. Push the upper toggle to
activate the rollers. Use the lower switch to stop them.
To change the direction of the media feed, use the ON/OFF switch to stop
the rollers first. Then use the Direction Switch to reverse the feed
direction. Changing the direction during operation may damage the drive
motors.
4. Adjusting Laminating Speed: Turn the dial clockwise to increase
laminating speed and counterclockwise to decrease it.
5. The sequence to disconnect the power should be done in the reverse
order of the connection sequence.
6. The film unwind and media take-up rollers are designed to
accommodate a full 50-yard roll of overlaminate film. One end of the
release liner take-up roller has a handle (Figure 1),used to adjust the
friction to ensure that the speed of the liner take-up roller is in synch with
that of the laminator pressure rollers. Rotate the handle clockwise to
increase friction and slow the liner take-up roller. Turn it
counter-clockwise to reduce friction and speed up the liner take-up roller.
7. The pressure rollers are raised and lowered by the cranks situated at
the left and right ends of the platen. Rotating the knobs clockwise lowers
the rollers. Rotating them counter-clockwise raises them. When using the
knobs to raise and lower the pressure rollers, take care to ensure that the
same amount is used on either side to ensure that the rollers remain level.
This produces even pressure and prevents skewing or wrinkling

Safety Precautions:
1. Read the safety instructions and familiarize yourself with the main
structure, performance and operation measures before starting the
machine. When using the equipment, please take note of the warning
labels placed on the surface. These are provided to support safe
operation of the product. All personnel operating the laminator should
read this manual and become familiar with the warning labels and
their meaning.
2. The power supply should match the power requirements on the
nameplate and specifications. Use a grounded three-plug power

cable. Do not change the ground wiring.
3. NOTE: This model does not have a safety sensor designed to stop
the rollers in the event of an object coming into contact with the
pressure rollers. All operators should take care to keep hands,
fingers, hair and loose clothing away from the pressure rollers during
operation. Failure to do so may result in injury.
4. When the laminator is not in use, the pressure rollers should be
raised. Leaving them lowered when the machine is idle can
produce flat spots on the rollers which will degrade lamination
quality and may require replacement of one or both rollers.
5. Keep work knives and other sharp edges well away from the rollers.
To extend the lifetime of the rollers, please ensure the rollers are
clean. Please remove the adhesive residue by a piece of cloth with
alcohol, detergent or adhesive remover. Gently wipe the rotating
rollers, and avoid concentration of wiping at any one point to prevent
partial damage roller surface
6. The facility should be well ventilated. Keep the machine away from
water, excessive moisture, or flammable, or combustible liquids or
vapors.
7. Inspect the power cables and foot switch connector cables regularly
to prevent risk of shock.
