Note: Do not unplug the reader/writer or remove
your memory card(s) while the Activity LED is
flashing.
Installation
Windows98SE
Donotconnectthereader/writeruntilafterthedriverhas
been installed.
1. Boot up your system and insert the driver CD.
2. ClickStart, Run, type D:\Setup.exe,thenclickOK.
(Change D: to match your CD-ROM drive letter)
3. Select English, click Next. Follow the on-screen
instructions to install the driver, then restart
Windows.
4. WhenWindowsresumes,connectthereader/writer
toaUSBportandthedriverswillloadautomatically.
Note: To uninstall 98SE driver see page 4.

Windows2000
Windows 2000 with service pack 2 or earlier
Donotconnectthereader/writeruntilafterthedriverhas
been installed.
1. Boot up your system and insert the driver CD.
2. ClickStart, Run,type D:\Setup.exe, then click OK.
(Change D: to match your CD-ROM drive letter)
3. Select English, click Next. Follow the on-screen
instructions to install the driver, then restart
Windows.
4. WhenWindowsresumes,connectthereader/writer
toaUSBportandthedriverswillloadautomatically.
Note: TouninstallWindows2000driverseepage4.
Windows 2000 with service pack 3 or later
Important: Windows2000withsp3orlaterautomatically
detects and installs the correct drivers for this reader/
writerwhenconnected. Nodriverinstallationisneeded.
Refer to Accessing Memory Cards, on page 6, for the
order in which the memory slots appear.
However, it's hard to distinguish one drive from another
unless you install the provided software that labels each
drive. If you choose to install this optional software,
pleasefollowthedirections above, underWindows2000
with service pack 2 or earlier.

WindowsME/XP/Server2003
Important: Windows ME, XP and Server 2003
automatically detects and installs the correct drivers for
thisreader/writerwhenconnected. Nodriverinstallation
isneeded. RefertoAccessingMemoryCards,onpage6,
for the order in which the memory slots appear.
However, it's hard to distinguish one drive from another
unless you install the provided software that labels each
drive. If you choose to install this optional software,
please follow the directions below.
1. Insert the driver CD. Click Start, then Run, type
D:\Setup.exe, then click OK. (Change D: to match
your CD-ROM drive letter)
2. Select English, click Next. Follow the on-screen
instructions to install the software. Restart the
computer to complete the installation.
Note: To uninstall Windows ME/XP/Server 2003
optional software see pages 4 and 5.

1. Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel.
2. Double click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Multi-Card Reader & Flash Disk, then click
the Add/Remove button.
4. Click Yes, then OK.
2000Driver/OptionalSoftware
1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2. Double click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Multi-Card Reader & Flash Disk, then click
Change/Remove.

XP/Server 2003 Optional Software
1. Click Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove
Programs.
2. Click Multi-Card Reader & Flash Disk, then click
Change/Remove.
3. Click Yes, then OK.
MacOS9.x
Donotconnectthereader/writeruntilafterthedriverhas
been installed.
1. Boot up your system and insert the driver CD.
2. Double click Drivers icon that appears on the
desktop.
3. Double click Mac folder, then double click Driver
Installationicon.
4. Followtheonscreeninstructionstoinstallthedriver,
then restart the computer.
5. Connect the reader/writer to a USB port and the
drivers will load automatically.
Refer to Accessing Memory Cards, on page 6, for further
instructions.
Mac OS X (v10.1.3) or later
Mac OS X (v10.1.3) or later automatically detects and
installs the correct drivers for this reader/writer. No
driver installation is needed.
RefertoAccessingMemoryCards,onpage6,forfurther
instructions.

Inserting Memory Cards
For CompactFlash, MicroDrive and Magicstor memory
media, insert with the top label facing up.
For SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, RSMMC, SecureDigital,
xD Picture Card, and Memory Stick memory cards, insert
with the gold pins facing down.
For miniSD memory card, align it to the left side of the slot
and insert with the gold pins facing up.
Removing Memory Cards
Windows
Memory cards can be removed at any time.
Mac
Drag the memory card's drive icon into the Trashcan
before removing it from the reader/writer.
Important: Wait for the Activity LED to stop flashing
before removing your memory card(s).
Accessing Memory Cards
Windows
When the reader/writer is successfully installed, four
Removable Disk icons appear in My Computer. To
accessanyonedrive,doubleclicktheiconthatcorresponds
to the memory card. The memory card slots appear in
this order: (1) CF/MicroDrive/Magicstor; (2) Memory
Stick; (3) SmartMedia/xD; (4) SD/miniSD/MMC/
RSMMC.
Mac
After a memory card is inserted, a disk icon will appear
onthedesktop. Adiskiconwillappearforeachoccupied
memoryslot. Toaccessthememorycard(s),doubleclick
the appropriate disk icon.

package. SIIGwillrefusetoacceptanyshippingpackage,and
will not be responsible for a product returned without an
RMA number posted on the outside of the shipping carton.
