Sistech SWISSCHARGER ONE User manual

Instruction manual for the SWISSCHARGER ONE-FOR-ALL
Congratulations on your purchase of the SWISSCHARGER ONE-FOR-ALL power supply / recharging unit. Bringing together innovative design and
advanced, versatile technology based on the model of the well known “Swiss Pocket Knife” this powerful device is intended to be your long-term,
reliable companion wherever you go.
1.ONE-FOR-ALL
The name says it all: ONE CHARGER FOR ALL THE GADGETS! Instead of dragging along a
separate power supply / recharging unit for every single device you need on the road, you can
now reduce the weight of your backpack by relying on SWISSCHARGER “ONE”. For charging
that MP3-player, your cell phone, smartphone, iPad/webpad, the digital camera, camcorder,
navigation system, satellite phone or even a bulky netbook – SWISSCHARGER “ONE” is all
you need to make your life easy!
2. INPUT: ready for direct and alternating current
Wherever in the world you are – the SWISSCHARGER “ONE” is ready to use and convert any
power source to alternating current and is designed to automatically adapt to varying AC
voltages of 100-240V and current frequencies between 50-60 Hertz. Of course, it can also be fed
by 11-16V direct current you will typically find in a car, boat, on planes as well as when using
solar panels .
3. A versatile travel adapter – go, adapt to the world!
Check out the remarkable, patented SIStech power plug with the built-in world travel adapter.
The corresponding plugs are as easy to flip out as the use of a Swiss Pocket Knife. A tiny plastic
key to unlatch UK power sockets is located at the lower end of the adapter jack. Don’t forget
to pull it out, otherwise you’ll have a hard time trying to use mains in the UK.
Let’s have a look at all the power socket types and the variety of countries covered by this tiny
power plug: Europe – USA – Asia – UK – Japan - Australia

4. The universal DC INPUT plug
The SIStech universal DC input plug consists of both, the standard 20mm cigarette lighter
adapter plug as well as the EmPower plug widely used for personal power supply on
planes. You can separate both plug parts by pressing the push-button lock.
5. The universal DUAL OUTPUT
Thanks to the DUAL OUTPUT feature you are now ready to power or charge many kinds of
devices:
A: High Power DC devices with 12-20V, 3A, 65W such as netbooks, a variety of notebooks
satellite phones, air- or water pumps, compressors, portable refrigerators and many more.
B: Low Power DC devices with 5V/1A typically using the USB plug – such as cellular phones,
the iPhone, iPod, mp3-players, navigation systems/GPS, LED light sources, AA/AAA
rechargeable batteries and so on.
Both power ports can be used independently and simultaneously still operating at full capacity.
6. Automatic or manual voltage adjustment
SWISSCHARGER “ONE’s” High Power DC output features the brand-new DPS (Digital
Power Scan) function for the automatic detection of the required output voltage (sliding switch
at the auto-detection position ). In case the automatic scan does not manage to detect the
right voltage, the blue STD (Self Tuning Denied) LED starts flashing and thus requests you to
push the slide switch to the manual mode (Manual-control ). By pressing the black round
button (Voltage-adjust) the charger lets you manually set the Voltage to 12V, 15V, 16V, 19V
or even the 20V your device may require. The manual voltage control is also good in case the
device detects the wrong voltage for your gadget.
IMPORTANT: Please check and double-check the required output voltage by having a look at
the label of your device’s original power adapter. If it’s not legible anymore, sometimes the
corresponding instruction manual may help.
In case of automatic digital power scan (DPS) failure please disconnect the power adapter from
the mains and wait until the LCD indicator display turns off. Once the “ONE” power supply unit
managed to automatically detect the right voltage (or you manually set it), the voltage adjustment
is locked after 3 minutes of unit usage and for safety reasons can’t be readjusted until you
disconnect it from the mains and plug it in again. The scan- and adjustment menu always starts
at the safe 12V mode. While scanning for the right output voltage the “ONE” device temporarily
turns off the USB socket and turns it on again after the scan is done.

7. Operation with a netbook / laptop
The scope of delivery offers you 11 interchangeable adapter tips fitting the most leading
international brands and their netbook/laptop models. Make sure to find the best mechanically
fitting adapter tip for your computer and then connect it to the high-power output cable of the
SWISSCHARGER “ONE”. After that plug this cable into your portable computer. That followed
please make sure that the slide-switch of the charging device is in the right position for the “auto-
detection” mode. Only then you should connect the charger to the power source.
As the automatic scan for the right voltage (DPS) continues, the indicator LEDs remain
flashing for about 30 seconds. Once the scan could find a corresponding voltage, one particular
voltage indicator is marked by a glowing LED behind the voltage value.
In case the automatic scan fails, the blue indicator LED (STD) starts flashing . In that case
please disconnect the charger from the power source and wait until all LEDs go out. Then
change the slide-switch to the “manual-control” mode and connect the charger to the power
source again. Now you can choose the voltage your portable computer needs by pushing the
black round button below the voltage selection panel. It is not possible to use this charger with
laptops that drain more than 65W/3 Ampere.
Useful advice: You could try to operate your laptop with its internal battery removed (means: no
additional charging current), or to charge your laptop while it remains turned off (means: no
additional operating current).
8. Operation using the DC 5V USB high power socket combined with the 12V universal plug
There are thousands of applications for the 12V Universal Port, such as lamps, pumps, satellite
phones, mobile radio sets and many more. For those please use the pluggable cigarette lighter
adapter . The corresponding car cigar jacks have to be designed for an power input of 12-
24V. Devices like the iPad or several netpads that need the high power USB port of 2,1A at 5V
can be connected by using the 2,1A cigarette lighter adapter.
9. Operation of the SWISSCHARGER „ONE“ combined with the SWISSBATTERIES
PowerTankXXL
The SWISSCHARGER “ONE” device is the best compatible charger for the “PowerTank XXL”
portable storage battery. It can be used by plugging it to alternating current sources like any
wall socket as well as standard 12V direct current sources you may find in cars or on boats.
Simply connect the high power output of the SC-ONE to the input socket of the PowerTank
XXL. The voltage adjustment is either performed the automatic way or manually by setting the
voltage to 16V.
Attention: In case the PowerTank XXL is fully charged, the voltage adjustment cannot be
performed by the automatic mode (the internal current input remains switched off). The
SWISSCHARGER ONE must be only connected to the POWER INPUT of the PowerTank and
NEVER EVER to the power output (to avoid excessive current consumption)!
Thanks to the high output rate of the SWISSCHARGER ONE it is possible to fully charge the
PowerTank XXL within as little as 2.5 hours.
10. Operating the SWISSCHARGER “ONE“ with solar systems
Due to the high performance and power of the SC-ONE the current consumption of the device lies around 8 ampere. Thus, the direct connection is only
possible to sufficiently dimensioned solar plants.
Useful advice: in case of undersized solar panels you may consider the usage of a 12V car battery as a buffer device and suitable storage battery.
