1. Introduction

phonebook and message en ries using your PC and s op yping in informa ion using he
mobile phone's keypad ins ead of yping in PC. Welcome o enjoy he deligh opera ion

1.4 Note:
− If PIN codes password window is shown, i means ha he user has se up a PIN
code password o pro ec he SIM card. Please en er he correc PIN code o
read/wri e o he Phonebook.
− PIN (Personal Iden ifica ion Number) is he password o unlock a SIM card. PUK
(Personal Unlocking Number) can unlock personal iden ifica ion. SIM card will be
locked o avoid misappropria ion when user en ers wrong PIN code hree imes. A
his ime, user mus en er PUK o unlock password. A en ion! SIM card will s op
func ioning forever if an incorrec PUK code has been en ered 10 imes.
− GSM/CDMA had four kinds of coding (Simplified/Tradi ional Chinese, English and
Digi al) me hods. The Si ecom MD-020 BE suppor s coding schemes, and selec s he
bes edi or model au oma ically.
− Only 0 ~ 9, #, * and + are valid inpu charac ers by GSM regula ion.
− Please refer o he righ hand side of he Phonebook for phone-en ries and
messages. The real en ries quan i y depends on he capaci y of he SIM card.

2. Driver/Utility Installation
A SIM Edi or u ili y is provided o help you manage SIM card da a in an easier
way. Take hese s eps o ins all he u ili y.
1. Inser he CDROM in o your CD-ROM drive. The CDMenu will au oma ically s ar .
Note: If he CDMenu does no s ar au oma ically, double-click he cdmenu.exe
file under x:\menu (where x: is your CD-ROM drive le er).
2. Click Install Driver and utility
3. Click Next o and follow he ins ruc ions on your screen.
4. Click inish o comple e he se up.

3. Using the SIM Editor Software
Reading a SIM card
1. Connec he SIM Card Reader o a free USB por on your compu er.
2. Inser your SIM card in o he reader wi h he gold con ac s facing down.

Launch he SIM Editor. Go o Start > Programs > Sitecom MD-020 BE SIM Editor >
Sitecom SIM Editor.
4. Click he “Load/Refresh” bu on o read he informa ion on he SIM card.
5. If your SIM card is locked wi h a PIN code, en er your PIN o con inue.
6. The Si ecom SIM Edi or sof ware will now read your SIM card and display he
phone-numbers. Click he SMS Messages bu on on he upper lef corner of he
screen o view he SMS messages on your SIM card.

Adding and Editing data on a SIM card
Note: Users are advised o firs crea e a backup of he da a ha 's curren ly on
he SIM card. Follow he s eps on he nex page, o crea e a backup.
Adding phone numbers or SMS messages o your SIM card, and edi ing exis ing
da a on he card can be done by following he s eps described below:.
Adding new phone numbers
Click he “new” bu on, and en er he new da a in he ex boxes on he upper righ side
of he screen.
Editing phone numbers
Selec he name of a con ac , in he SIM con ac lis .
Note: Af er adding, or changing, con ac s o he SIM phonebook, don' forge o save
he da a o he SIM card. Click he “wri e” bu on o save he con ac s o SIM.

Backing up your SIM card
To make i easier o backup he con en of your SIM card, he da a in your phonebook
can be backed up on your PC. Click he Impor /Expor -bu on, and selec “Expor ” from
he menu. This will allow you o crea e a comple e backup of your con ac s.
When a SIM card is backed up, all phone numbers are s ored in a ca alog on he PC. To
copy da a back o a SIM card, click on he impor /expor -bu on, selec “impor ” from
he menu, and choose he correc ca alog file.
Modifying PIN
To modify PIN, click he key-icon, selec Change PIN, and hen en er old and new PIN
in he provided fields and click OK o confirm he changes.
