Safety
Read and carefully observe these installation
instructions before installing/operating/
troubleshooting the assembly. The assembly
must be installed, maintained and repaired
exclusively by persons familiar with the
instructions.
Always disconnect power source
(electricity, air or hydraulic) from the pump
when it is not being used.
This equipment generates high pressure.
Extreme caution should be used when
operating this equipment as material leaks
from loose or ruptured components can
inject fluid through the skin and into the
body. If any fluid appears to penetrate the
skin, seek attention from a doctor
immediately. Do not treat injury as a simple
cut. Tell attending doctor exactly what type of
fluid was injected.
Any other use not in accordance with
instructions will result in loss of claim for
warranty or liability.
• Do not misuse, over-pressurize, modify
parts, use incompatible chemicals, fluids,
or use worn and/or damaged parts.
• Do not exceed the stated maximum
working pressure of the equipment or of
the lowest rated component in your
system.
• Always read and follow the manufacturer’s
recommendations regarding fluid
compatibility, and the use of protective
clothing and equipment.
• Failure to comply may result in personal
injury and/or damage to equipment.
Explanation of signal
words for safety
NOTE
Emphasizes useful hints and
recommendations as well as
information to prevent property
damage and ensure efficient trouble-
free operation.
CAUTION
Indicates a dangerous situation that can
lead to light personal injury if
precautionary measures are ignored.
WARNING
Indicates a dangerous situation that
could lead to death or serious injury if
precautionary measures are ignored.
DANGER
Indicates a dangerous situation that will
lead to death or serious injury if
precautionary measures are ignored.
WARNING*
Do not operate equipment
without reading and fully
understanding safety
warnings and instructions.
Failure to follow warnings and
instructions may result in serious injury.
NOTE*
Do not operate equipment without
wearing personal protective gear.
Wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protection used for appropriate
conditions will reduce personal injuries.
WARNING*
Do not allow any body part to
be trapped by equipment.
Body parts can be crushed by
subassemblies during operation.
Failure to comply may result in death
or serious physical injury.
WARNING*
Do not allow fluid to leak onto
floor when operating
equipment. If spill occurs,
clean any fluid on floor before continuing
operation.

Installation
Base casting can be used as a template to
mark location of anchor bolts.
Two or three drums can be positioned
around the hoist for rapid changing of
pump from one drum to another. Hoist
rotates 360°.
Specifications
Height of unit in lowered position 73 in (1 854 mm)
Height of unit in raised position 110 1/2in (2 807 mm)
Hoist capacity 400 lbs. (181 kg)
Operating air pressure 40 psi (2,8 bar) minimum, 200 psi (13,7 bar) maximum.
NOTE*
Do not operate equipment without
wearing personal protective gear.
Wear proper clothing to protect from
any substance that may drip or splash.
Wear proper non-slip gloves when
operating or servicing system.
Wear proper non-slip safety footwear
to avoid slipping on substance that may
be present on floor.
Use proper eyewear when close to
pump and/or hoist to avoid substance
splashing in eyes.

Install follower to
pump tube
4 Shut off valve to lop hoist.
5 Disconnect air coupler to hold hoist in
raised position.
To lower pump and follower
into drum (air supply line
must be disconnected)
1 Open air valve to top of hoist. Valve con-
trols speed of descent of hoist.
2 Close valve before follower contacts top of
drum.
3 Position drum to allow follower entry.
4 Lower pump and follower slowly into
drum.
5 Open valve fully to permit weight of pump
and follower to seat follower onto material
in drum.
Prime pump
1 Open bleeder plug in pump outlet.
2 Operate pump until material flows from
plug opening.
3 Shut off pump.
4 Tighten bleeder plug.
5 Operate pump and open control valve at
end of delivery hose until material flows
freely from control valve. Pump is then
fully primed.
Material agitation
Some materials pumped with PileDriver
pump may require agitation. To agitate
material:
1 Remove bleeder valve from pump outlet
body.
2 Remove plug from adapter plate casting.
3 Install shut-off valve in pump outlet body
4 Connect hose from valve to adapter plate
casting as illustrated.
5 Open valve and operate pump with control
valve closed.
WARNING*
Do not allow fluid to leak onto
floor when removing
follower (41) from barrel. If
spill occurs, clean any fluid on floor
before installing a new barrel.
Failure to comply may result in per-
sonal injury.
WARNING*
Do not allow any body part to
be trapped between
follower (41)and barrel.
Body parts can be crushed by follower
as follower lowers into barrel.
Failure to comply may result in death
or serious physical injury.
* Indicates change.
Kit 1716 (for series II
PowerMaster pumps) and kit
2716 (for series III
PowerMaster pump)*
1 Loosen three set screws (39) sufficiently to
allow follower (41) to be slipped onto
pump tube.
2 Tighten set screws (39) to hold
follower (41) in place.
Kit 2719 (for series III
PileDriver pumps)*
1 Bolt follower (41) to flange of pump tube
with the four screws (49) and nuts (42).
2 Tighten securely.
Operation of hoist
Raise hoist
1 Remove air coupler from pump.
2 Connect air coupler to air inlet plug of
hoist.
3 Open quarter-turn valves on hoist. Air flow
directed to top of hoist raises hoist, pump
and follower as a unit. Air directed to fol-
lower assists by breaking seal between
follower and drum, exerting pressure up
on follower and down on drum.
NOTE
Remove tee handle plug from kits 1716
and 2716*, or probe assembly on Pile-
Driver pumps, to expel trapped air
beneath follower when seating.
Replace before operating pump.
NOTE
Shut-off valve must be closed when
dispensing material.
