Purpose
The Gel-Foam Toilet Seat Cushion Alarm System incorporates a top layer of gel and a bottom
layer of foam to provide comfort and maximum pressure relief. The bafed gel pack design stabilizes
the gel to insure that the gel doesn’t migrate away from the high pressure areas. The heat-sealed vinyl
casing is water proof and cleans easily with disinfectants and is soft and gentle to the skin.
Easy to Use
Installation of Toilet Seat Sensor:
Make sure that the cable is facing the back, away from the split. The toilet seat cushion should be
placed over the toilet seat with the gel surface facing up. The toilet seat cushion is designed to be
placed on most toilet seats and is held in place by four removable straps as shown in (Fig. 1).
Each strap is to be threaded through both rectangular rings (Fig. 2) and are closed by placing the end
of the strap on top of the opposing side. The strap should be pulled snug but not too tight. All toilet
seat cushion alarms have a sensor imbedded in the cushion and are guaranteed for one year.
Model 909376 includes the ChairPro electronic unit in addition to the cushion and imbedded sensor.
Model 909377 substitutes the ChairPro alarm with the MultiPro alarm. The MultiPro alarm system
should be used when in addition to an audible alarm, the caregiver is interested in a nurses call
interface. Please refer to the Skil-Care catalog or website www.skil-care.com for specics on the
ChairPro and MultiPro electronic units.

After the cushion is afxed to the seat, locate the alarm as convenient with or without the wall
bracket. Connect the grey wire from the pad to the modular receptacle in either the Chair or MultiPro
unit. Be sure that the wire will not interfere with the raising and lowering of the seat, or doesn’t
impair the residents movement or isn’t a choking hazard.
Test the alarm by sitting on the gel-foam toilet seat cushion and rising up off the seat. If the alarm
fails to sound check the battery and/or cable connection.
Note: The imbedded sensor is only located in one quadrant so unless the sensor is activated by sitting
on the entire cushion, it may not activate.
Easy Care
The vinyl seat cushion is heat-sealed and can be cleaned with a mild disinfectant. Each strap can be
removed and cleaned by wiping, spraying or soaking in a disinfectant. Do not boil or place in a
microwave. If the straps require replacing they can be ordered as (model# 909397). If a tear or rip is
observed, the unit should be discarded.
Caution
Although the gel is non-toxic, medical care should be consulted if the gel is ingested. This product is
an aid and shouldn’t be a substitute for adequate medical attention.
Warning
1. Check alarm before each use.
2. Do not immerse alarm cushion in water
3. This device will alert caregiver if a resident stands up. It is not a restraint and isn’t intended to
deter a resident from standing up.
4. This device isn’t a substitute for proper caregiver supervision.
5. Although the imbedded sensor may operate for longer than one year, it is only guaranteed
for one year.
