When shipped from the factory, the TV/CATV menu option is set to the TV mode. If using CATV, set the
menu option to CATV (Cable Television)

WARNING: Do not leave any stationary images, patterns, PIP box, or letterbox images on the screen for an extended
period of time. Also, do not display the same stationary patterns frequently. This may result in permanent
ghost images on the display unit. This type of damage is not covered under warranty. Examples of this
type of situation can be but not limited to the following: side bar images, stock market report bars, video
game patterns, closed captioning, shopping channel logo, price display, and letterbox black bars. To
prevent this type of damage, display constant moving images that fill the screen as often as possible.
According to the industrial standards, there are a certain number of defective pixels both bright
and dark that are acceptable. Although we produce panel with more than 99.99 percent active
cells, there still may be some cells that do not produce light or remain lit. For more information,

11.POLARIZATION - This unitis equipped witha
polarized alternating current line plug (a plug
having one blade wider than the other). This
plug will fit into the power outlet only one way.
This is a safety feature. If you are unable to
insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing
the plug. If the plug still fails to fit, contact your
electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do
not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized
plug.
12.POWER-CORD PROTECTION - Power supply
cords should be routed so that they are not
likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them, paying particular
attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from
the appliance.
13.LIGHTNING - To protect your unit during a
lightning storm, or when it is left unattended
and unused for long periods of time, unplug it
from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna
or cable system. This will prevent damage to
the unit dueto lightning andpower line surges.
14. POWER LINES - An outside antenna system
should not belocated in the vicinity of overhead

antenna system, extreme care should be taken
to keep from touching such power lines or

15.OVERLOADING - Do not overload wall

16.OBJECT AND LIQUID ENTRY - Do not push
objects through any openings in this unit as
they may touch dangerous voltage points or

17.OUTDOOR ANTENNA GROUNDING - If an
outside antenna or cable system is connected
to the unit, be sure the antenna or cable system
is grounded to provide some protection against
voltage surges and built-up static charges.

ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with
respect to proper grounding of the mast and
supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in
wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of
grounding conductors, location of antenna
discharge unit, connection to grounding
electrodes, and requirements for the grounding
electrode.
18.SERVICING - Do not attempt to service this
unit yourself as opening or removing covers
may expose you to dangerous voltage or other
hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.

Preparation
Thank you very much for your purchase of this product-the most natural Colour Television Receiver.
To enjoy your set to the full from the very beginning, read this manual carefully and keep it handy
for ready reference.
The power consumption of the display is approximately 160 watts, please use the power cord
designated for the product. When an extension cord is required, use one with the correct power
rating. The cord must be grounded and the grounding feature must not be defeated.
The product should be installed on a flat surface to avoid tipping. Space should be maintained
between the back of the product and the wall for proper ventilation. If you would like to mount the
TV to the wall, please see Preparing the LCD for Wall Mounting below for additional information.
Avoid installing the product in the kitchen, bathroom or other places with high humidity, dust or
smoke so as to shorten the service life of the electronic components.

Please ensure the product is installed with the screen in landscape orientation. Any 90 clockwise
or counterclockwise installation may induce poor ventilation and excessive component damage.
Preparing Your LCD TV For Wall Mounting
The HDTV can either be kept on the stand base or mounted to the wall for viewing. If you choose to
mount the HDTV to the wall, please follow the instructions below .
To Remove The Stand Base:
1.Unplug all the cables and cords from your LCD TV.
2.Place the LCD TV face down on a soft and flat surface (blanket,
foam, cloth, etc) to prevent any damage to the display.
3.Remove the screws on the back panel of the TV located near
the bottom so that the base stand can be removed. (See the right
figure)
4.Gently pull the stand away from the display by grasping firmly
to the base.
5.Now the display can fit securely to a mount (sold separately) by
utilizing the mounting holes in the back panel of the display (See
the right figure). Please make sure to read the directions of your
specific wall mount to properly hang the HDTV. Make sure the
wall mount is rated to support at least 65 lbs.
Professional mounting kits and installation service are
recommended.

Protect Against Power Surges
Connect all devicesbefore you plugany of their power cords into the wall outlet or power
strip. NEVER plugyour TV into an outlet that is controlled by a wall switch.
Turn off the TV and/or device(s) before you connect or disconnect any cables.
Make sure allantennas and cablesare properly grounded. Refer to the Important Safety
Instructions at thebeginning of theUser's Guide
Protect Devices fromOverheating.
Don't block ventilationholes on anyof the devices. Arrange the devices so that air can
circulate freely.
Don't stack devices.
If you placedevices in astand, make sure you allow adequate ventilation.
If you connectan audio receiveror amplifier, place it on the top shelf so the heated air
from it won'tflow around otherdevices.
Position Cables Properlyto Avoid Audio Interference
Insert each cablefirmly into thedesignated jack.
If you placedevices above theTV, route all cables down the side of the back of the TV
instead of straightdown the middle.
If your antennauses 300-ohm twinlead cables, do not coil the cables. Also, keep the
twin lead cablesaway from audio/videocables.
Use Indirect Light
Don't place theTV where sunlight or room lighting will be directed toward the screen.
Use soft orindirect lighting.

Get the Picture
The first partof connecting your TV is to get the picture, also known as the signal.The back
panel of yourTV allows you to receive analog and/or digital channels by usingthe
ANTENNA/CABLE INPUT. See the graphic to the bottom for locationof the jack.

your cable channels.
C. Do you havea set-top box?If so, you may need to call your
cable company orsatellite service provider. They may use
special cables toallow you toview digital channels.

Visit www.antennaweb.org to get help deciding what type of antenna to use to receive the
local digital channelsavailable to you.By entering where you live, this mapping program
tells you whatlocal analog anddigital stations are available using a certain antenna.
When you areready to watchchannels, the channel banner displays the type of channel
you're viewing. Lookfor a Dat the bottom of the screen for digital channels; look for an Afor
analog channels.

Note : If the picturefrom the DVDplayer appears black and white and your device is
connected to theVIDEO Input, you might tune tothe wrong input. Make sure you press
INPUT until you select VID1 or YUV displayed at the top of theTV's screen.
Note : If the deviceyou're connecting alsohas Component Video jacks and you have
component video cables,we recommend you use the Component Video (Advanced)
Connection instead. Seeinstructions below.

Viewing the Picture from the Connected Device
This connection allowsyou to connect a device that has a Video
Out jack, forexample, a DVD player. Using the example of a DVD player:
1. If necessary, connect yourcable and/or off-air antenna as
described on page12.
2. Connect youryellow video cable. Connect a video cable to
the (VID1) Video jack on the back of the TV and to theVideo
Output jack onthe DVD player.
3. Connect yourred and white audio cables. Connect the audio
(red and white)cables to the (VID1) R and L Audio jacks on
the back ofthe TV and to the Audio Output jacks on the DVD player.
This connection allowsyou to connect a device that has Y Pb Pr
jacks, for example,a DVD player. Using the example of aDVD player:
1. If necessary, connect yourcable and/or off-air antenna as
described on page12.
2. Connect yourY Pb Pr component videocables. Connect three
video cables orspecial Y Pb Pr cablesto the COMPONENT
INPUT (CMPT) Y Pb Pr jacks onthe back of the TV and to the
Y Pb Pr outputs on the DVD player.
3. Connect yourred and white audio cables. Connect the audio
(red and white)cables to the Component Input (CMPT) R and
L Audio jacks on the back ofthe TV and to the Audio Output
jacks on theDVD player.
1. Plug inthe TV and the device, if they aren't already plugged in.
2. Turnon the TV and the device you want to view,for example
a DVD player.
3. Press theINPUT button on the remote control until you
select VID1 (ifconnected to the VIDEO INPUT 1 jack) or
YUV (if connected to the YUV jacks) and press OK.
To go back to view TV channels, use the number buttons
to enter thechannel you want to view.

Viewing the Picture from theConnected Device
The device inthis connection isconnected to the HDMI /DVI jack.
Toview this device:
1. Plug inthe TV and the device, if they aren't already plugged in.
2. Turnon the TV and the device you want to view, for example
a set topbox.
3. Press theINPUT button until you select HDMI and press OK
on the remotecontrol. To go backto view TV channels, use the
Number buttons toenter the channelor press CH+ or CH- buttons.
Connecting the HDMIDevice
High-Definition Multimedia Interface(HDMI) technology isan uncompressed digital
connection that carriesboth video andaudio data by way of an integrated mini-plug cable.
Since HDMI technologyis based onDigital Visual Interface (DVI), the jack on the back of
your TV is also compatible with devices that have a DVI output jack. Using the example of a
set-top box:
If your set-topbox has anHDMI jack, connect an HDMI cable. Connect an HDMI cable to
the DVI Inputjack (or theHDMI jack if it is more convenient) on the back of theTV and to
the HDMI Outjack on theback of the device.
If your set-topbox has aDVI jack, connect an HDMI cable and an HDMI/DVI adapter.
1. Connect anHDMI cable tothe DVI Inputjack on theback of the TV.
2. Attachan HDMI/DVI adapterto the end of the HDMI cable, then connect the adapter to
the DVI Outjack on theset-top box.
3. Since you'reusing an HDMI/DVIadapter, you need to connect Audio cablesto the
Connect a 3.5mm stereo minipin cable to the PCAUDIO jack on the back of the TV and
to the Rand L audio jacks on the back ofthe device.

Viewing the PC
1. Plug inthe TV and the PC, if they aren't already plugged in.
2. Turnon the TV and the PC.
3. Press theINPUT button until you select PC and press OK on the remote control. To go
back to viewTV channels, use the number buttons to enter the channel orpress CH+ or CH-
buttons.
Note: The maximum resolutionis 1366x768/60Hz. Be sure to set your PC to the correct
monitor output setting.
Note :
If have connectedthe devices to your TV, go topage 12 tocomplete the InitialSetup.
If you haveconnected devices to your PC, press the PRESET button on the remote control
until you enterPRESET MENU, select the item PC Sound Source and then useleft or right
arrow button to select PC or AV.
PC Connecting
This connection allowsyou to connect to a personal computer.
1. If necessary, connect yourcable and/or off-air antenna as described on page 12.
2. Connect yourmonitor cable. Connect one end of a 15-pin monitor cable to the PC VIDEO
jack on theTV and the other end to the PC's video output jack. Note, if yourPC's video
output isn't 15-pin,you'll need an adapter that can connect to a 15-pin monitor cable.
3. Connect youraudio cable.
Connect a 3.5mm stereo mini pin cable (sometimes referred to as 1/8" stereo mini pin) to
the PCAUDIO jack on the back of the TV and the other end to theAudio Output jack on the
PC.

Plug in the TV
Plug the endof the power cord into the back of the TV.Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Insert the plugcompletely into the outlet. Do not plug into an outlet controlled by a light
switch.
Put Batteries in the Remote
Remove the battery(AAA)compartment cover fromthe back of the remote by pushing the
Tab and lifting off the cover.
Insert two freshbatteries. Make surethe polarities (+ and -) are aligned correctly.
Replace the cover.
Turn on the TV
Turn on your TV by pressing thePower button on the side of the TV or ON/OFF onthe remote
control.
How to Use the Remote Control to Complete the Initial Setup
The technical termis "Navigation" -how you move through the
on-screen menus. The theory is the same throughout the menu
screens: highlight yourchoice and selectit.
Tohighlight a menuitem, press the arrow buttons on the remote
to highlight oneof the itemslisted on the screen. Use the up or
down arrow buttonto move upor down. Use the right or left
arrow button toview other selectionsfor a menu choice or to
display a sub-menu.
Note: Highlighted means thatthe menu itemstands out from
other menu itemson the list(appears darker, brighter, or a different color).

Complete the Initial Setup
The menu systemin your TV allows the TV's features to work properly. The first time you
turn on yourTV.
Set the MenuLanguage
From SETUP press MENU LANGUAGE,the first part of the setup allows you to select your
preferred language forthe menu system.If English is your preferred language, press OK
and go toset the PicturePreset mode. To choose another language, press the LEFT or
RIGHT arrow button until that language is highlighted, and press the OK button.
Complete Channel Setup
Make sure you'veconnected the TV to cable or an off-air signal before you start thenext
part of thesetup. Set theSignal Type From the Channel menu, Select Auto Channel Search.
Press the leftor right arrowbutton to high light Signal Type. If you connected Cable to your
ANTENNA/CABLE INPUT jack, the optionis chosen for you and you can press the down
arrow button tocontinue. To chooseAntenna, press the right arrow button and then press
the down arrowbutton to continue.Complete the Channel Search With Auto Channel
Search highlighted, pressOK to beginthe channel search. There are several things to be
aware of whenthe TV's searches for channels. If you chose Cable as your signal type, the
search takes awhile because it'slooking for analog and digital channels, and then it's
removing scrambled channelsfound. Here iswhat happens during the search:
1. The search first looks for analog channels and places the number of channels found next
to AnalogChannels found.
2. The search then looks for digital channels and places the number of channels found next
to Digital Channelsfound.
3. WhenAuto Channel Searchin progress, you can press the OK and CLEAR button to
cancel the search,any channels alreadyfound will be stored.
4. Afterauto channel searchcompleting, press CLEAR to exit the menu system. You might
find there arestill some channelsin your list that are unavailable to view. To get ridof
these channels, pressMENU and chooseChannel. Highlight and select EDIT CHANNEL
NAME. Note thatremoving channels fromyour channel list may be time consuming, so
Youmight want todo it later.

Most digital videois sent ina 16/9 format which does fill your screen, but sometimes is sent
in 4/3 whichdoes not fillyour screen. It depends on how the station or source device is
formatting the video.If there arebars on-screen, press the FORMAT buttons to try a
different format that may eliminatethe bars. Some bars can't be removed because of
the way theformat is sentby the broadcaster.
Digital channels canhave both primarychannels (like the analog channel number) and
subchannels. To tune toa digital channelwith a sub-channel, such as 10-1 as shown in the
graphic to theleft, enter theprimary channel number (10), then press SUB CH button. to
enter the sub-channelnumber (1) andpress OK. Depending upon thetype of signals you
have connected toyour HDTV, you mightnotice that thechannels change slowerthan
you're used to.This is perfectly normal. Digital cable channels sometimes take longer to
tune.
Changing Channels
This section describesthe jacks onthe back or side panel of your TV. There are several ways
to connect devices.
ANTENNA/CABLE INPUT Lets you connecta coaxial cableto receive thesignal from your
antenna, cable, orcable box.
AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT (VID1)Lets you connecta device that has composite video jacks,
such as aVCR or DVDplayer.
L AUDIO Provides left audio connection when using the VIDEO INPUT 1 and Component
Video jack. The left audio connectors usually white. For mono audio sources be sure to use
the Left audioinput.
R AUDIO Provides right audio connection when using the VIDEO INPUT 1 and Component
Video jack. The right audio connector is usually red.
COMPONENT INPUTS Lets you connecta device thathas component videojacks, such as a
DVD player.
CMPT Y Pb Pr (Component Video) Provides optimum picture quality because the video is
separated into threesignals. Use threevideo-grade or component video cables for the
connection. When usingCMPT YPb Pr, make sure you connect left and right audio cables to
the L and R AUDIO jacks.

DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT (Coaxial) Use a digitalcoaxial cable to connect your TV to a
compatible audio receiver.
HEADPHONE Allows you toconnect headphones to listen to the sound coming from the TV.
HDMI/DVI INPUT Lets you connecta device, such as a digital cable box, with an HDMI ora
DVI output.
HDMI/DVI INPUT (High-Definition Multimedia Interface/DigitalVisual Interface) Provides
an uncompressed digitalconnection that carries both video and audio data byway of an
integrated mini-plug cable.Since HDMI technology is based on Digital Visual Interface
(DVI), the jackon the back of your TV is also compatible with DVI devices.
DVI AUDIO shared with PC AUDIO(Stereo minijack) when using the HDMI jack for DVI.
PC VIDEO INPUTConnect your computer, or other device with a VGA output, to this jack
using a 15pin D-sub cable.
PC AUDIO (Stereo mini jack) Use to obtainsound when a PC is connected to the PC.
INPUT Use a 3.5 mm stereo mini pin cable (sometimes referred to as 1/8 stereo mini pin)to
connect a PCto your TV.
If you cannotlocate your remote, you can use the side panel buttons of yourTV to operate
many of theTV's features.
(POWER) Turns the TV on and off.
SOURCE Brings up theINPUT menu ,in the menu system, selects highlighted items when

Using the Remote Control
Remote Control POWER Turns the TV on or off.
MUTE Reduces the TV's volume to its
minimum level. Pressagain to restore
the volume.
Alphanumeric Buttons Enter channel
number; time setting;using these
buttons. To enter a channel, press the
number buttons and press OK (or just let
the entry timeout). To enter a digital
channel with a sub-channel, enter the
main channel, then press the SUB-CH
button to enter the sub-channel and
press OK.
INPUT Accesses the available video
input channels (TV, Video1, Video2, YUV,
HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3 and PC). To
resume TV viewing, press the number
buttons to enterthe channel or press
CH+ or CH-buttons.
GO BACK Returns you to the previous
channel.
VOL - or VOL + Decreases or increases
the TV's volume.
SUB-CH Toenter the digital channel with
the button.
INFO Press once to display the channel
banner, press again to remove the menu.
CH + or CH - Scans up or down through
the current channellist. Press once to
change the channelup or down; press
and hold tocontinue changing channels.
Arrows Used to highlightdifferent items
in the TV menu and to adjust the menu
controls. When viewing a channel, arrow
functions are asfollows:
Left Right arrow/Zoom-/+Press to
change the screen format: Normal, Full,
Water, Glass, Cinema.
OK When in themenu system, selects

Using The Menu System
This section exploresthe menus of your TV. Each
menu is outlinedand detailed to help you get the most
from your TV. The Parental control menu is discussed
in the Featureschapter. To access the menu system:
1. Press theMENU button.
2. Use theup and down arrow buttons to highlight an
option and pressOK button to display it. The name
of the menuis displayed at the top of the menu
screen.
3. Press theup and down arrow buttons to move to a
different option within the menu. If necessary,
press the OKbutton to display the choices of the
option you've highlighted.If available, use the text
at the bottomof each screen for help.
4. To return tothe Main Menu, press the MENU button
until it's displayed.Descriptions of each menu are
discussed in theorder they appear. There are two
ways to exita menu. Press the CLEAR button. The
menus are clearedfrom the screen, and you return
to TV viewing. Press the MENU button repeatedly
Until the menusdisappear.
Picture Menu
The Picture menucontains menus and controls to
configure how thepicture looks. The Picture menu
options apply tothe video for the main TV and video
input selections.All picture options can be applied to
each input: TV, VID1, VID2, CMPT, HDMI1 or (HDM2 /
HDMI3) and PC.
Picture Settings:
Preset Displays a choicelist that lets you select one
of the presetpicture settings: SOFT, NATURE,
BRIGHT,or PERSONAL. Choose the setting that is
best for yourviewing environment.
Brightness Adjusts the brightnessof the picture.
Contrast Adjusts the difference between the light and
dark areas ofthe picture.
Color (not availableon PC) Adjusts the richnessof
the color.
Sharpness (not availableon PC) Adjusts the
crispness of theedges in the picture.
Tint (not available on PC/YUV and HDMI) Adjusts
the balance betweenthe red and green levels.
Color Warmth Displays a choicelist that lets you set
one of threeautomatic color adjustments: Cool for a
more blue paletteof picture colors, Normal or Warm
for a morered palette of picture colors. The warm
setting corresponds tothe NTSC standard of 6500 K.
When you changeany of these picture settings, the
Picture Preset changesto Personal. Use the left or
right arrow buttonto make adjustments.

Screen Format Change the screenformat among
Normal, Waterglass, Cinema, Full.
Screen format isthe way thepicture is displayed on
your TV. Press the ZOOM (left and right arrows)
buttons on yourremote to seeif a different format is
available for thevideo you areviewing. The format
changes as youpress the ZOOM(left and right
arrows) buttons and the format type is displayed at
the bottom ofthe screen.
Analog video issent in a4/3 format, which your TV
displays in a16/9 format. Mostdigital video is sent in
a 16/9 formatwhich does fillyour screen, but
sometimes it issent in 4/3which does not fill your
screen. It dependson how thestation or device
connected to yourTV is formatting the video. If there
are bars onthe screen, pressthe FORMAT buttons to
try a different format thatmay eliminate the bars.
Some bars can'tbe removed becauseof the way the
format is sentby the broadcaster. The different
formats available andwhat they looklike follow. Each
format is availablefor analog video,but it might not
be available fordigital video.
Film Mode (3:2 Pull down)Automatically detects
video sources thatwere originally recordedon film
(like most movies)and subsequently convertedto a
different format (for TV broadcast, for example). Film
mode processes theconverted signal sothat it looks
as close aspossible to theoriginal. Another name for
this process isreverse 3:2 pulldown.
The On setting (recommended): placea check inthe
box, enables thefeature only whenthe TV detects
that movie playbackquality could beimproved.
The Off setting (uncheck thebox) turns off film mode
up conversion. Try using this setting ifyou think the
reverse 3:2 pulldown is causingdistortions in your
picture.
PC Settings Adjust the PCsettings when inPC mode.
Video Noise Reduction (not available onPC or
digital channels) Reducespicture "static" orany type
of interference. This feature isespecially useful for
providing a clearerpicture in weakanalog signal
conditions. Press theright arrow tochoose between:
Low for asofter, smootherpicture that retains picture
sharpness and detail;MID for aslightly softer picture
than the Lowsetting; High foran even softer,
smoother picture thanthe other settings(the picture
detail is somewhatdecreased).

The Sound menulets you adjust audio output. To
access the Soundmenu, press MENU on the remote,
and then selectSound from the Main Menu. The
following sound itemscan be adjusted:
Bass Improves bass output.
Treble Improves treble output.
Balance Adjusts how muchaudio is sent to the left
and right speakers.
Analog Sound Controls the waythe sound comes
through your speakers.The options available vary
according to theinput selected.
Mono (available for regularTV viewing only) Plays
the sound inmono only. Use this setting
when receiving broadcastswith weak stereo signals.
Stereo Splits the incomingstereo audio signal into
left and rightchannels. Most TV programs and
recorded materials havestereo audio. The word
Stereo appears inthe channel banner when you tune
to a programthat is broadcast in stereo.
Second Audio Program (SAP) Plays the program's
audio in asecond language, if one is available. The
letters SAP appear in the channel banner when you
tune to aprogram that is broadcast with SAP
information. SAP audio is broadcast in mono. SAP is
also used tobroadcast a program's audio with
descriptions of thevideo for the visually impaired.
DIGITAL SOUND Choose the language you prefer
for dialog ondigital channels. If your preferred
language is beingbroadcast with a program, then the
TV plays it.If not, then the TV plays the default audio
for the program(usually English in the U.S.). The
default digital channelaudio language options are
English, French, Spanish.
PRESETS Press the buttonto enter the PRESETS
menu adjust audiooutput. select SPDIFOutput
option, you canselect OFF, AC3 and PCM.
CH+/CH- Buttons Press PRESETS buttonto enter
the CH+/CH- menu and by leftor right key to adjust
CH+ and CH-button's function. You can select ALL
Channels, TV Channels, Favorite Channels.
