OVERSPEED GOVERNOR SLC LF 18 CD.
GOVERNOR ASSEMBLY
The overspeed governor SLC LF 18 CD will be installed
according to the type of assembly required by the client. To
that end, the instructions of each assembly will be watched
and the following general instructions.
1º) Check the characteristics of the governor correspond with the indicated ones in the nameplate and
the attached documentation to the governor.
2º) Set the governor in his position following
the instructions in detail, verifying that it firmly fastened
and vertical.
3º) Pass the belt through the governor and safety anti-
fall pulleys in the direction marked for his assembly,
checking that the rotation of the governor in descending
direction of the lift car, it would cause the activation of
the safety gear in the correct direction (the steering
linkage arms to the top).
4º) In case of a replacement of the overspeed governor it is not necessary to untie the belt. Remove all screws of
left hand protection and remove it.Pass the belt trought the pulley, and assembly it again.
5º) Line up the overspeed governor vertically
6º) Install the tension pulley, checking the belt position whith regard to the car and the other components.
7º) Scan with the eyes if the governor`s pulley and the testing pulley are paralels, checking if belt is centered on all
pulleys.
8º) Join the belt with the linkage (check again step 7).
9º) Move the lift to slow speed checking the correct functioning. Then, move the lift to nominal speed, checking the
correct functioning of the governor.

OVERSPEED GOVERNOR ACTUATING
The overspeed governor actuating may be:
a) Manual actuating: The systen is assembled at factory. To
check if overspeed gobernor function well, operate manually
the actuating system
b) Remote actuating.
Connect the solenoid for the remote tripping according to the characteristics of the
installation, for example:
The fed time of the solenoid cannot exceed of 15s continuously and in this time the
governor must turn at least a return. Activate the switch by checking the performance
system moves. Then, start the lift and activate the solenoid, the governor and the safety
gear must be operated arranging the safety switch of the driven bar the stop of the
machine. The above mentioned checking must be realized in both directions.
Without feeding the solenoid, move the lift in the opposite direction unwedging the
safety gear and checking that the lift moves freely.

ELECTRICAL CONTROL
OVERSPEED SWITCH
Connect the safety line to the normally closed
switches and the reset solenoid of the remote system of reset
according to the solenoid characteristics.
Turn manually the lever of the switch verifying the
opening of the safety line across the switch. Then, feed the
solenoid to reset the switch checking the switch wheel is
placed in the housing of the system
Check that the system is not going to interfere with the
chassis in the movement of the actuator disk of the governor during the wedging of
the safety gears for what a free zone will have to exist around the system of
approximately about ±11º.
If necessary, you may replace the solenoid
and the electrical contact without the unsealing of
the kit. To that end, the anchoring screws of the switch and/or the solenoid
should loosen, replace by other elements of identical characteristics and fix the
replaced elements with the anchoring screws. Do not unsealing of anchoring
screws of the kit because it can influence the speeds of performance of the
system. If necessary, you should get in touch with SLC to report on the process
to follow.
TRIPPING SWITCH
If it is a governor with tripping switch, connect it at normally close and check if it
open and close the contact mooving the governor disk. All test should be done with the
elevator stopped.

ANTI-SLIDING PROTECTION
Check that the system is not going to interfere with the chassis in the movement
of the actuator disk of the governor during the wedging of the safety gears for
what a free zone will have to exist around the system of approximately about
±11º.
Remove the protection and connect the solenoid for remote tripping
according to the characteristics of the installation.
To avoid that before a failure of electrical supply with the lift in
movement, the anti-sliding system could provoke the wedging of the safety
gears, the maneuver must support the feeding of the solenoid during a few
instants after the failure of supply.
Check that feeding the solenoid, the system performs. Connect the safety line to the
safety switch of the device in the contacts that they arrange closed when the solenoid is fed.
Feed the solenoid and move the lift to slow speed checking its proper performance in
both directions.
With the elevator on the floor and WITHOUT feeding the solenoid, move the lift car to
slow speed in descending direction (It will be necessary to bypass the safety switch from the maneuver or move
the elevator manually) checking that after the maximum distance covered the safety gears are driven. Activate the
solenoid and move in the opposite direction. Perform the indicated in this paragraph for the ascending direction of
the lift car.
As measure of checking, in the systems SLC-AD 10 the maneuver can check in the stops in floor that the
electrical contact is opened..
If the system has provoked the stop of the car lift after detecting the reason of the uncontrolled movement if
you want to release the car lift, it will have perform on the solenoid of the system and move the car lift in the
opposite direction to the uncontrolled movement. This aspect is applicable if the wedging has taken placed for
other reasons and you want to unwedge.
