INSTALLATIONOFTHISPRODUCT.
2. Priortoinstallingthisproduct,readandcompletelyunderstandtheinstallation
instructions.Youmustreadtheseinstructionstopreventpersonalinjuryand
propertydamage.Keeptheinstallationinstructionsinaneasilyaccessiblelocationfor
futurereference.
3. Priortoinstallingthisproduct,thelinearray(“System”)installermustusetheEASE®
FocuslinearraydesignsoftwarewiththeSLS™designfileplug‐intodeterminean
approvedsystemconfiguration.Theinstallerassumesallriskoflossand/orinjury
arisingfromtheinstallationofanunapprovedsystemconfiguration.Theinstalleris
requiredtoverifytheactualinstallationagainstproductspecificationsandtoretaina
copyoftheapprovedsystemconfigurationforproofofcompliancewiththis
requirement.ForDolbyAtmos®certification,acopyoftheapprovedsystem
configurationmustbesuppliedtoDolbyaspartofthecertificationrequest.
4. Alicensedprofessionalengineermustapprovetheplacementandmethodof
attachmenttothebuildingstructurepriortotheinstallationofthesystem.
5. Installationmustbeperformedbyqualified,licensed,andinsuredinstallers,and
installedinaccordancewithalllaws,rules,andregulationsapplicabletothe
installationsite.Failuretodosocouldresultinseriouspersonalinjuryorevendeath.
6. Compliancewithlocalbuildingcodes(and,whereapplicable,nationalcodes)isthe
responsibilityoftheinstaller.Installersshouldconsultwithlocalregulatory
authoritiesforspecificcodesand/orguidelinesfortheuseofthisproduct.
7. Allinformationpresentedhereinisbaseduponmaterialsandpracticescommonto
NorthAmericaandmaynotdirectlyapplytoothercountriesbecauseofdiffering
materialdimensions,specifications,and/orlocalregulations.Installersinother

useofSLSsuppliedrigging.Allotherriggingisconsideredpartofthevenueand/or
installer‐suppliedequipmentandisnotaddressedinthisguide.
11. Thisguideisnotacomprehensivesourceforriggingingeneral.Installerassumesall
responsibilityforensuringthatacceptedriggingandsafetypracticesareemployed.
InstallerassumesallresponsibilityfortheappropriateuseofSLSsuppliedrigging
hardwareandfollowsataminimumallapplicablelaws,rules,andregulationsin
forceforeachvenue.
12. Theprimaryriggingcableforthesystemmustbemountedtostructuralsteel.Donot
attachtheprimaryriggingcabletoanywoodstructure,woodroofjoists,orwood
frame.Inallinstances,theprimaryriggingcableanditsattachmentpointmustbe
mountedinawaythatsupportsaminimumoffivetimesthestaticweightofthe
system,orgreaterifahigherrequirementismandatedperlocallaws.

13. Asystemsafetycablemustbeutilizedthatusesadifferentmountpointtostructural
steelthantheprimaryriggingcable. Thesystemsafetycablemustbemountedto
structuralsteelinawaythatdoesnotcauseapendulumswingthatwouldallowthe
systemtocontactthebuildingstructure,rigging,orotherequipmentintheeventofa
primaryriggingfailure.Thesafetycablemustbeinstalledsothatthereisnoslack.
Asafetycablewithslackcancauseasevereshockloadtothecableandmountingpoints.
Donotattachthesystemsafetycabletoanywoodstructure,woodroofjoists,orwood
frame.Inallinstances,thesafetycablemustbemountedinawaythatsupportsa
minimumoffivetimesthestaticweightofthesystem,orgreaterifahigherrequirement
ismandatedperlocallaws.
14. Donotinstallonastructurethatispronetoabnormalvibration,movement,orchanceof
impact.Failuretodosocouldresultindamagetotheequipmentand/ordamagetothe
mountingsurface.
15. Makesurethatnowaterpipes,naturalgaslines,electricalwire,orconduitarepresent
wherethespeakeristobeinstalled.Cuttingordrillingintowaterpipes,naturalgas
lines,electricalwire,orconduitcouldcauseseriouspersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
16. Priortosuspendinganysystem,alwaysinspectallcomponents(enclosures,rigging
frames,pins,eyebolts,trackfittings,andsoon)forcracks,deformations,corrosion,and
missing,loose,ordamagedpartsthatcouldreducethestrengthandsafetyofthearray.
Donotsuspendthesystemuntilthepropercorrectiveactionhasbeentaken.
17. Noopenflamesourcesshouldbeplacedonorneartheapparatus.Donotinstallnear
anyheatsourcessuchasradiators,heatregisters,stoves,orotherapparatusthat
producesheat.
18. Onlycleanproductwithadryordampcloth.
19. Donotblockanyventilationopenings.
20. Hearingdamagemayresultfromprolongedexposuretoexcessivesoundpressurelevels
(SPL).TheloudspeakeriseasilycapableofgeneratingSPLsufficienttocausepermanent
hearingdamagetoperformers,productioncrew,andaudiencemembers.Caution
shouldbetakentoavoidprolongedexposuretoSPLinexcessof90dB.
21. Thisproductisintendedforinstallationindryindoorlocationsonlyandisnotintended
foruseinhighmoistureenvironments.Moisturecandamagetheproductandcause
corrosionofelectricalcontactsandmetalparts.Avoidexposingthespeakerstorainor
directmoisture.Prematureproductfailureorseriouspersonalinjurycouldoccurifthis
productisusedoutdoorsorinwetindoorenvironments.
22. Keepspeakersoutofextendedorintensedirectsunlight.
23. Theloudspeakercangenerateconsiderableacousticalenergyandmaymoveduringuse.
Thesystemmustbemountedinawaythatallowssufficientclearanceforthis
movementwithoutriskofcontactwiththebuildingstructure,rigging,orother
equipment.Donottetherthearraytopreventmovement.Installer‐suppliedhardware
mustbeintendedforoverheadsuspensionandcomplywithASMEB30.20andbe
manufacturedunderproducttraceabilitycontrols.Complianthardwarewillbe
referencedwithaworkingloadlimit(WLL)andatraceabilitycode.Thehardwaremust
beloadratedtosupportaminimumoffivetimesthestaticweightofthesystem,or
greaterifahigherrequirementismandatedperlocallaws.Generally,thistypeof
hardwareisavailablefromriggingsupplycompanies,industrialsupplycatalogs,and
specializedriggingdistributors.Localhardwarestoresdonotusuallystockthese
products.

24. Installedsystemsshouldbeinspectedatleastannuallyorasrequiredbylocallaws.
Theinspectionshallincludeavisualsurveyofallcornersandload‐bearingsurfaces
forsignsofcracking,waterdamage,delamination,oranyotherconditionthatmay
decreasethestrengthoftheriggingframeandspeakers.Therigginghardwaremust
beinspectedforfatigueatleastannuallyorasrequiredbylocallaws.Theinspection
shallincludeavisualsurveyofthehardwareforsignsofcorrosion,bending,orany
otherconditionthatmaydecreasethestrengthofthehardware.
25. Priortosuspendingthesystem,anexpertwhoistrainedandexperiencedin
suspendingspeakersystemsshouldinspectallpartsandcomponents.Dolbyisnot
responsiblefortheapplicationofitsproductsforanypurposeorthemisuseofthis
informationforanypurpose.Furthermore,Dolbyisnotresponsiblefortheabuseof
itsproductscausedbyavoidingcompliancewithinspectionandmaintenance
proceduresoranyotherabuse.
26. Noinformationcontainedinthisguideisintendedasawarrantyonthepartof
SLS.

attachmentpointtoanindependentpointonthebuildingstructure.Youmustuseonly
riggingpointsonthecentersparoftheCS6600RFforattachingthissafetyrigging
hardware. Allinstaller‐suppliedrigginghardwaremusthaveaminimum5:1safetyfactor,
orgreaterifahigherrequirementismandatedperlocallaws.

1. Pushthepositive‐lockreleasebutton,whichislocatedatthecenterofthepinback
head.
2. Insertthepinintothehardwareandreleasethebutton.

frametoconfirmthattheverticalangleofthearrayiscorrect(asspecifiedintheEASE
Focusdata).

inputbarrierstripaccepts16‐to12‐gaugewire,witheitherspadelugsorbarewire.Always
useindustry‐standardpracticeforselectingwiregaugebasedontheproductpowerrating
andcablelength.Notethatthebarrierstripismarkedwithplus(+)orredindicatorsto
showthepolarity.PerIECstandard,apositivevoltageonthepositivemarkedinputresults
inthelow‐frequencydriver(s)movingoutwards.Alwaystiedownthecabletoavailable
hardwaretominimizeanybuzzingorpullouts.
