EZ SwitchTM 5- and 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switches
Product Overview
The SMC EZ SwitchTM 10/100/1000 family includes the SMCGS502 and SMCGS802, 5- and 8-port unmanaged
10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet switches with plastic-case chassis that bring the speed of Gigabit copper to the desktop.
Environmentally friendly, they consume up to 76%* less power than non-Green Ethernet switches, without reducing network
performance. QoS priority and Auto-MDI/MDIX on all ports makes these Gigabit desktop switches ideal for home and small
office network environments.
Key Features and Benefits
IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet Support
When two 802.3az-compliant switches are connected, up to
76%* of power consumption can be saved.
Support for IEEE 802.1p Quality of Service
The switch supports 802.1p Quality of Service, which is useful
in implementations where time-sensitive data, such as voice
and video, are streamed across the network.
Broadcast Storm Control and CRC Filtering
Broadcast storm control prevents broadcast traffic storms
from consuming bandwidth, and CRC filtering stops bad
packets from propagating throughout the network.
Support for Jumbo Packets
Support for Jumbo packets of up to 9K Bytes in size.
Auto MDI/MDI-X on Each Port
Support for Auto-MDI/MDIX means that no crossover cables
are required. Straight-through cables can be used for all
connections.
