TigerChassis™ 10/100/1000
Multilayer Backbone Chassis Switch
The TigerChassis 10/100/1000 is a powerful network
backbone switch that combines wire-speed Layer
switching and Layer 3 routing for small and medium
enterprise-level applications. The SMC971 G includes a
built-in management agent/L3 routing engine with an
open slot for optional agent backup as well as in an
open slot for an optional redundant power supply. With
1 available slots for media interface blades (modules)
and 4Gbps of switching bandwidth, the 971 G is
capable of delivering a flexible combination of Gigabit
and Fast Ethernet connectivity.
The TigerChassis 10/100/1000 is equipped with
Layer 3 line-speed IP routing capabilites that far
outperform traditional standalone routers in terms of
packet forwarding rate. The 971 G also includes an
array of network management features such as QoS,
VLAN and Multi-Link Trunking which provide security
and efficiency for today´s bandwidth intensive, multi-
media applications.
