OVERVIEW
The SMC6128PL2 provides wire speed 10/100 Fast Ethernet switching with built in PoE features specifi cally
designed for SMB workgroup environments. By supporting 802.3af POE on all 10/100 ports it enables easy
installation of PoE devices such as IP Phones and IP Cameras. The 4 Gigabit ports provide enhanced uplink
capabilities for greater throughput. An integrated part of this switch family is the IP Clustering function. The
feature allows customers to group together up to 32 switches into a single logical group which can be man-
aged using a single IP address. The switch also boasts advanced Quality of Service features that can reduce
the latency of packets through the network, with specifi c traffi c prioritization improving the delivery of con-
verged data such as voice and high quality video over IP. The gigabit ports are 2 10/100/1000 ports plus 2
Combo gigabit ports (RJ-45/SFP) The PoE function allows up to 15.4W maximum per port. Overall this switch
is part of fl exible switch family which brings PoE and non-PoE switches to the edge of the network.

APPLICATION DIAGRAM
POWER TO CONNECT
KEY FEATURES
Power over Ethernet Capability High-gigabit port density in a small footprint
With IEEE802.3af compliant PoE on all 10/100 ports, devices such
as VoIP Phones and IP cameras can be installed without running
separate power lines.
With 24 fast Ethernet ports, 2 Gigabit Ethernet Ports, and 2 Combo
ports, this switch provides high speed and legacy connections to
all nodes on the network. The 2 combo ports allow fi ber connections
to be connected, thereby ensuring a migration path for network
installations.
Flexible QoS and VLAN IP Clustering
Qos allows prioritization based on 802.1p and DSCP using 4
priority queues for better network performance and VLAN support with
automatic GVRP LAN registration for more effi cient management.
IP Clustering allows up to 32 units to be managed from a single IP
address
