Torque Instrument Use &
Adjustment
The QDTPMS35 Torque Driver is a highly accurate
torque tool intended to make torque adjustment when
maintaining or installing popular styles of tire pressure
monitoring sensors. By noting the most popular torque
ranges for vehicles on the tool, a technician can quickly
select the correct torque to work on the majority of TPMS
units used in vehicles today.
Operating Instructions
1. Turn LOCKER so white dot is aligned with the FREE
mark on the torque driver. (Figure 1)
Figure 1:
2. To select desired torque, hold the MAIN SCALE and
MAIN BODY of the torque driver and rotate until you
reach the desired torque point (either 4, 12 or 35 in.
lbs.). Ensure that the arrow on the MAIN BODY aligns
with the center line of the torque point. (Figure 2)

3. Turn the LOCKER so the white dot is aligned with the
LOCK mark on the torque driver. (Figure 3)
Figure 3:
4. Choose a proper bit or adaptor and start the
tightening operation.
5. Once the target torque is reached, the user will feel a
distinct “ROTARY SLIP” that indicates proper torque
has been reached.
Target Torque Settings
1. Refer to Figure 4 for proper torque setting alignment
positions.
Figure 4:
Preset Hook Spanner
1. The Hook Spanner Tool (QDTPMS35-1) is used to make
reaching the upper portion of the scale easier for the user.
As the tool is rotated, the tool can become more difficult to
turn. The tool is attached with the circular end clipping on
the MAIN SCALE (front) of the tool. Note that the end of the
tool should clip into either of the holes in the MAIN SCALE.
The tool can then be used to turn the MAIN SCALE more
easily.
