The snom100/snom200 phones are completely interoperable with the TEDAS Phoneware
Server. This is a quick installation guide for getting the best performance out of snom phones
with the TEDAS Phoneware Server. Before we jump to the snom100/snom200 settings for
TEDAS Server, here is a quick Installation guide for the TEDAS Server:
Requirements for TEDAS Phoneware Server
1. Computer with Pentium III 800 MHz processor
2. 128 MB RAM
3. 140 MB Hard disk space
4. Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack 5 and Option Pack 4, Windows 2000 (or
Windows 2000 Advanced Server)
5. Microsoft IIS (for web administration)
6. Single Network Card (NIC) with a static IP address
Installation of TEDAS Phoneware Server
Insert your TEDAS Phoneware Server CD-ROM. The installation program will launch
automatically. Select "Install Phoneware Server" from the menu. If some of the les on the
system need to be updated, the program will prompt this. Click on "Yes" to perform the update.

Conguring TEDAS Phoneware Sever for snom phones
The conguration of TEDAS Server is made via the web interface. To access your Phoneware
Server, open an Internet Explorer window and type in http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ Phoneware, with
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx beingthe IP Address of your Phoneware Server. In the login
screen, type in your username and password (refer to the TEDAS Phoneware Server
manual or ask your network administrator).
After successful login, follow these simple steps:
1. Click on the "Terminals" option and dene 5 terminals only with alias names. These
terminals correspond to the 5 snom100 users you wish to congure, for example John, Peter,
Jane, Nick and Bob. Please click on the "Apply" button to activate these settings.
2. Click on the "Phoneware Extensions" option and dene 7 Phoneware Ext. with numbers,
for example 422, 423, 424, 425, 426, 500,501. These Phoneware extensions correspond to
the phone numbers of your snom phone users. Click on the "Apply" button to activate these
settings.
3. Now go to Phoneware Ext. Assignment →Terminals.
4. Assign the numbers 422, 423, 424, 425, 426 to the snom users John, Peter, Jane,
Nick and Bob respectively. This can be done by holding the CTRL key and clicking rst on the
Username (e.g. Jane), then on the number you want to assign to the user from the list (e.g.
424) and then on the “Insert” button. In this way you can assign a Phoneware Extension to
each user.
5. Similarly, assign the numbers 500 and 501 to VMBIn and VMBOut for the mailbox
functionality. Click on the “Apply” button to activate these settings.
6. Congure an ISDN gateway at the Phoneware Server. Refer to the TEDAS Phoneware
Server manual for detailed instructions.

You are nowready to go. If you open Start/Programs/Phoneware Server/Phoneware Server
Gatekeeper, you will see the registration info, which will display the snom phones registered at
the TEDAS Server. To check the functionality with the answering machine (voicemail box), dial
500 or 501 from one of the registered snom phones.
PBX Codes for Supplementary Services
snom100/snom200 supports 3 modes of providing Supplementary Services. These modes
differ in whether they are based on H.450, Facility Messages or PBX codes. The TEDAS Server
only supports Supplementary Services based on PBX codes, so to achieve full functionality you
have to congure these PBX codes at the snom phones too. This will enable you to use the
extensive set of Supplementary Services provided by the TEDAS Server. To congure these PBX
codes on snom100, go to Settings →Miscellaneous → PBX Codes and enter these PBX Codes:
• Hold on *1
• Hold off *2
• Blind Transfer *60#
• Consult. Transfer *6
• Conference on *3
• Conference off *30
• Pickup #1 or #11
• End Symbol #
Now call one snom100 phone from another one. You will observe that in the connected
state, snom100 sends out *1# to the TEDAS Server upon pressing the R key for call hold
and sends *2# upon pressing the R key again to resume the call. While a call is being held,
the TEDAS Server provides music on hold. A connected call can be transferred to another
destination by pressing
F4 (with only one call present). You can type in the destination to be transferred to and
the call will be transferred. Similarly, when you have two calls, pressing F3 will connect the
two calls by sending out *6# to the Phoneware Server. If the user presses F4 (forward arrow)
instead of F3 here, then a new set of keys is displayed. Pressing F3 (conference key) here
activates a conference by sending out *3# to the Phoneware Server. Pressing F3 again turns
off conference. Call Pickup feature allows a snom phone to pick up an alerting call. If the PBX
code for Pickup is congured at the snom100, pressing F4 in the idle state displays a new set
of keys. In this screen, pressing F3 (Pickup key) picks up an alerting call.
