Getting the Most Out of Vital Sleep
Before using VitalSleep, read and follow this entire instruction manual.
This is vital to the success of VitalSleep.

What Causes Snoring and
How Does VitalSleep Help?
Most snoring is caused by a partial obstruction of the upper
airway behind the tongue. When the airway is partially obstructed,
the turbulent airow can cause the tissues of the nose and throat
to vibrate. This vibration gives rise to snoring.
VitalSleep helps to reduce snoring by gently moving your lower
jaw forward to open your airway.

Instructions on How to Use VitalSleep
Materials Required for Fitting
You will supply:
Water and a pot, a timer, tongs
to handle mouthpiece and two
large coee mugs.
Caution: Do not place VitalSleep
in rapidly boiling water.

Basic Use: Step by Step
VitalSleep should rst be heated to improve its t to your mouth.
For the rst few days, we recommend sleeping with the device
without adjusting the lower half to a forward position. This will help
to allow your mouth to become accustomed to it.
Preparation and Fitting the Mouthpiece
1. Identify the top of the mouthpiece by locating the UP arrow on
the back side. This should be pointing up as shown:

2. If needed, use the included hex key to adjust both sides of the
mouthpiece to the neutral position (lower half not forward).
3. Fill both coee mugs with enough cold water to cover the
mouthpiece.
4. Pour the water from one of the mugs
into the pot and bring to a boil. Place
the empty mug and the mug with cold
water in the sink.
5. Pour the hot water from the pot into the
empty mug.
6. Using the tongs, place the mouthpiece into
the mug of hot water for ten seconds.

7. After ten seconds, remove the
mouthpiece from the water. Verify
that the arrow is pointing up. Wait
ten seconds and then place the
warmed mouthpiece into your
mouth. Bite down gently for ten
seconds and press the mouthpiece
surfaces against your teeth.
8. Remove the mouthpiece from your
mouth and place it in the mug of
cold water. Let it cool for thirty
seconds.
9. Put the mouthpiece in your mouth and
check for comfort. If uncomfortable, repeat
the process.
Important Notes
Each individual tooth impression will not show
in the mouthpiece after tting. This is normal.
Biting too hard into or overheating VitalSleep will damage it.

Adjusting VitalSleep
Sleep with the mouthpiece in the neutral position for a few days to
help you get accustomed to sleeping with it in place.
After this initial period and when you are used to sleeping with the
mouthpiece in place, you can start adjusting the mouthpiece to
help open your airway and reduce snoring.
With the hex key, turn each screw clockwise to bring the bottom
half of the mouthpiece forward. Both sides must be adjusted
equally to maintain balance and not skew the device.
If snoring doesn’t
satisfactorily reduce,
increase the forward
position of the bottom
half in small increments.
Turning clockwise brings
lower half forward.

Getting Used to VitalSleep
Light soreness may occur for the rst few days. When you wake up
after using the mouthpiece, your jaw may be in a slightly forward
position. This is normal because your jaw has become used to that
position while sleeping. It should return to normal after removing
the mouthpiece. You can help your jaw return to its normal position
by gently pushing it backwards and holding that position for a
couple of minutes.

Cleaning and Storage
Clean the device after each use as follows:
• Rinse the mouthpiece in cold water.
• Use a soft toothbrush with toothpaste and brush the entire
mouthpiece.
• Rinse again thoroughly in cold water.
• Dry the mouthpiece and store in the included protective storage
case.
You may also clean VitalSleep by soaking it in denture cleaner.

Notice
Have your dentist or medical doctor perform a complete oral health
assessment to ensure the suitability of VitalSleep.
If your jaw or teeth are sore during or after using the mouthpiece
decrease the forward position of the bottom half.
Discontinue use immediately if you experience jaw, tooth or gum
pain, loose or moving teeth or prolonged discomfort.
Unless otherwise directed by a dentist or physician, VitalSleep is to
be used to decrease snoring. By using this device you conrm that
you have a good understanding of any medical conditions you may
have. Keep out of reach of children.
Federal law restricts this device for sale by or on the order of a
