Thank you for choosing Sobia’s breast pump. Breastfeeding is one of nature most beautiful
gifts a mother can give to her child. Unfortunately, there are some situations and reasons
why breastfeeding is not always possible. Sobia wants to make sure every mother can
participate and provide the best equipment during this beautiful journey. TheWorld Health
Organisation and Healthcare professionals recommend breast milk as the primary source
of nutrition during the rst two years. After a period of 6 months, you can combine breast
feeding with solid food. Breast milk is by nature adapted to your baby’s needs and helps to
protect against infections and allergies. If you choose to breastfeed longer than anticipated,
you can express and store your milk so that your baby can still enjoy the benets, even if
you cannot be there to provide it yourself. Our breast pumps are compact, quiet, discrete,
and easy to take anywhere with you, allowing to express milk at your own convenience and
to maintain your milk supply. The breast pumps are well engineered to foresee continues
voltage and strong suction power. This means the suction power will not weaken and still
perform the same if the battery is on 100% or 5%. It takes a learning curve to nd your
comfortable level to breast pump.
Sobia is a brand created for babies, by mothers for mothers.
Breast pumps of Sobia are well known for the 4 modes:
• Massage
• Expression
• Lactation
• Auto
The massage modus is a rapid micro vibration to help stimulate milk production, relieve
blocked ducts, swelling and lumps. By imitating the suction of a baby, the massage modes
help to trigger the let-down reex.
Once let-downs begin you can switch to Expression or Lactation mode, which are using
both dierent frequencies and have their own characteristics. Thanks to the 12 dierent
suction levels, you can choose what level you feel comfortable with during your journey.
There is also an auto mode which will switch from Massage mode to Expression mode
automatically after 5 times.

IV. Getting Started
1. Cleaning before rst use
WARNING!
Do not wash the breast pump with antibacterial or abrasive cleaning agent as this may
cause damage. Don’t forget to sterilise before rst use.
CAUTION!
🞕Never put the motor unit in water or in a dishwasher as this causes permanent damage.
🞕After each session, immediately wash all parts that came into contact with breast milk.
This will prevent growth of bacteria and help remove breast milk residue.
🞕Wash before each session your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
🞕Only use drinking-quality tap water or bottled water for cleaning.
🞕Do not place pump parts in the sink to rinse or wash. Use a clean wash basin used only
for infant feeding items.
🞕Do not use a dish towel to rub or pat items dry instead leave all parts to air- dry on a
clean tea towel or drying rack.
Step 1: Disassembling
Parts that came in contact with milk should be cleaned manually or in the dishwasher after
each use. All parts apart from the electric units (motor) can be washed or sterilised.
NOTE!
Don’t forget to sterilise before rst use.
When using the dishwasher please bear mind that the silicon parts can discolour after a
time.
Step 2: Cleaning
a. Wash by hand
i. Rinse the parts that come into direct contact with breast milk (except for the motor)
with cool water.
ii. Clean these parts with plenty of warm, soapy water.
iii. Rinse the parts with cool water.
iv. Leave all parts to air- dry on a clean tea towel or drying rack.
b. Wash in dishwasher
i. Place the disassembled parts (except for the motor) on the top of the dishwasher
ii. Put dishwashing liquid or tablet in the machine and run a standard program.
iii. Leave all parts to air- dry on a clean tea towel or drying rack.

Step 3: Disinfecting
CAUTION!
When sterilising in boiling water, make sure the silicon parts do not touch the side of the
pan. This can cause irreversible product deformation or damage that Sobia cannot be held
liable for.
i. Fill a household pot with enough water to cover all parts and place all parts in the
pot. Let the water boil for max 5 minutes, water should not reach temperatures
higher than 100°C.
ii. Gently remove the parts from the water. Place the parts on a clean surface/tea towel
or drying rack to air-dry.
2. Tubing parts
CAUTION!
If the tubing becomes mouldy, stop using immediately and replace tubing as soon as
possible.
NOTE!
Do not use the breast pumps if the tubing becomes wet/mouldy, doing so will damage the
motor.
Tubing only conveys an air ow from the motor (it does not come in contact with breast
milk), normally cleaning of the tubing should not be necessary. Make sure to inspect the
tubing to see if you can nd condensation in the air tube. If so, wash with water only and
dry immediately or replace it. If you see breast milk inside the tubing do not attempt to
wash or sanitise it, replace with new tubing.
a. How to wash tubing
i. Separate the tubing from the device.
ii. Rinse the tubing by pouring cool water into the tubing end until it ows out of the
other tubing end.
iii. Wash the tubing in warm, soapy water.
iv. Rinse the tubing with clean water.
b. How to dry tubing
i. Shake out any water droplets inside the tubing.
ii. Hang the tubing to air dry.
iii. Make sure the tubing is completely dry before using it again.

good connected into the 24mm ange.
Good t Too small Too big
2. Flange size guide
Measure the base of your nipple, where the nipple meets the areola. Do not measure
your areola, just the width of your nipple. Add 4mm to your measurement. These extra
millimetres allow for some space between your nipple and the ange tunnel, as well as for
a bit of nipple expansion while pumping.
NOTE!
You can use coconut oil while pumping to soothe and help repair sore and cracked
nipples. Simply apply a small amount of coconut oil directly to the nipple.
If the ange should be adapted, please do so following this picture:

along with potential breast and nipple trauma, may decrease milk output.
🞕In case you express only minimal or no milk at all, contact your healthcare professional
or breastfeeding specialist.
GOOD TO KNOW!
🞕Maximum comfort vacuum (which is dierent for every mother) is the highest
vacuum setting where pumping still feels comfortable.
🞕Stimulation should be at a comfortable vacuum level, striving for a maximum level is
not necessary.

These guidelines for storage and thawing of breast milk are recommendations. Contact

WARNING!
🞕Never refreeze thawed breast milk.
🞕Never add fresh breast milk to frozen breast milk.
1. Freezing
