How to use
Charging the unit
ʓPress and hold POWER for about 2 seconds to turn off the unit.
While the unit is on, the battery is not being charged.If you turn on the unit while the unit is charging, the
charging stops.

ʔBoot your computer, then connect it to the unit using the micro-USB cable (supplied).
The POWER indicator (red) lights up. Charging is completed in about 4 hours when connected to a
computer or connected to an AC outlet using the recommended USB AC adaptor (optional).
When charging is complete, the POWER indicator turns off.
If the battery is not charging properly, the POWER indicator (red) flashes.
To charge the battery from an AC outlet
Use the USB AC adaptor AC-UD20 (optional). For details,refer to the Operating Instructions supplied
with the USB AC adaptor. AC-UD20

Turn on the connecting audio device
Computer : Install a driver. (For Mac, there is no need to download and install a driver.)
ŞDownload and install the driver software for Windows “Sony USB Device Driver” onto a Windows computer.
ŞWhen playing High-Resolution Audio format data on your computer with the unit, install “Hi-Res Audio Player.”
To download the driver software and “Hi-Res Audio Player.”

ŞIf the battery is empty or being charged, the unit can be used by
connecting the headphone cable to audio devices.
ŞWhen the headphone cable is connected, the unit turns off.
ŞWhen the headphone cable is connected, the unit does not turn on.
ŞWhile using the unit with the headphone cable, the VOL +/– knob is
not available. Adjust the volume of the connected device.
Listening to music with the headphones
ʓPress and hold POWER for about 2 seconds to turn on the unit.
The POWER indicator (green) lights up.
ʔStart playback on the connected audio device.
ʕAdjust the volume.
Adjust the volume with the VOL +/– knob on the right headphone.
After using the unit
Press and hold POWER for about 2 seconds to turn off the unit.

Notes on charging the headphones
-Charge the headphones using the supplied
micro-
USB cable. Otherwise, it may cause a
malfunction.
-Charge in an environmental temperature of between
soc and 35°C. Otherwise, the battery may not fully
charge.
-
If you haven't used the headphones for a long time,
the life
of the rechargeable battery may become
short. This will improve when you repeat the
charging and discharging process several times.
-
Do not store the headphones in hot places for a long
time.
If storing them for more than a year, charge the
battery every six months
to prevent excessive
discharge.
-
For system requirements for a computer that can
charge the battery using
USB, see "Operating
environment".
-
If you recharge the headphones by connecting to an
AC outlet, use the separately-sold USB AC Adaptor
specific in "Recommended accessory (sold
separately}".

If the headphones are malfunctioning, charging will
not start and the POWER indicator will blink. In this
case, disconnect the unit from the connected device,

Notes on handling
- Because the headphones are designed to fit closely
in your ears, forcing them against your ears may
result in eardrum damage . Avoid using the
headphones where they are liable to be struck by
people or other objects, such as a ball, etc.
- Pressing the headphones against your ear smay
produce a diaphragm click sound. This is not a
malfunction.
-Clean the headphones with a soft dry cloth.
-Do not leave the plug dirty otherwise the sound may
be distorted.
- Be sure to consult a Sony dealer when the earpads
become dirty or damaged, or when the headphones
require repair work.
- Do not lea vethe headphones in a location subject to
direct sunlight, heat or moisture.
-
Do not subject the headphones to excessive shock.
-Handle the driver units carefully.
- If you feel drowsy or sick while using this
headphones. stop use immediately.
Notes on headphones
g High volume may affect
your hearing. For
traffic safety, do not use while driving or
cycling.
Also. avoid listening with your headphones in
situations where hearing must not be impaired, for
example, a railroad crossing, a construction site. etc.
Note on static electricity
In particularly dry air conditions. noise or sound
skipping may occur, or mild tingling may be felt on
your ears. This is a result of static electricity
accumulated in the body , and not a malfunction of the
headphones.
The effect can be minimized by wearing clothes made
from natural materials.
Optional replacement ear cushions can be ordered
from your nearest Sony dealer.

Troubleshooting
No sound
-Check that the unit and the audio device are
connected correctly.
-Check that the connected device is turned on.
-Check that the unit is turned on.
-If the POWER indicator does not light up, charge
the battery.
-Turn up the volume of the connected device.
-Turn up the volume of the unit .
When connected to a computer, there is no
sound or the sound is not played back
properly.
-The computer does not recognize the unit as a USB
device. Restart your computer .
Install the driver software for Windows ~sony USB
Device Driver~ on your Windows computer. Visit
the following website, a nd install the software.

-Turn up the volume of your computer or software.
- If the unit was connected to the computer while
using audio playback software, restart the audio
playback software.
-When playing High-Resolution Audio format data
on your computer with the unit ,use the audio
playback software compatible with the High-
Resolution Audio format data, such as ·Hi- Res
Audio Player. ~
When •Hi- Res Audio Player" is not installed, install
it on your computer. Visit the following website,
and install the software.

-If the computer enters standby, sleep or
hibernation mode, while the music is played back
by using the audio playback software, restart the
audio playback software.
-Check that the sound device settings of your
computer are correct.
-For Windows 8 I 8.1
Press and hold the [Windows] and [X] keys to
display the menu, select [Control Panel],
(Hardware and Sound], (Soundj,(Piaybackj tab,
select [Sony MDR - 1ADAC ] for the playback
device, then click (Set default].
-For Windows 7 /Windows Vista
Click the (Start] menu, select [Control Panel),
(Hardware and Soundj.(Soundj,(Piaybackj tab ,
select (Sony MDR-1ADACj for the playback
device, then click [Set default].
-For Macintosh
Click the [Apple] menu, select [System
Preferences],(Sound], [Output] tab, then select
[MDR-1ADAC) for [Select a device for sound
output].
-The volume control of your computer or the audio
playback software is set to suppress the sound.
Cancel the setting.
-The CD-ROM drive does not support the digital
reproduction function. Use a CD - ROM drive that
supports the digital reproduction function.
-Digitally broadcast sound may not be output from
a computer's USB port. In this case, connect the
analog input jack of the unit to the analog audio
output of the computer .
Low sound
-Turn up the volume of the connected device.
-Turn up the volume of the unit.
The unit does not turn on.
-Charge the battery of the unit.
-When battery life reduces to half, the battery is
approaching the end of its service life. Consult your
nearest Sony dealer for replacement.
Distorted sound
- If the audio device is connected to the analog
input jack of the unit , turn down the volume of the
connected device.
-Set the equalizer setting of the connected device
to off.
-Charge the battery of the unit.
The batterycannot be charged.
-Turn off the unit.
-Check that the unit and your computer are firmly
connected using the micro-USB cable (supplied).
-Check that the computer is turned on and not in
standby, sleep or hibernation mode.
-Check that the unit and the computer are directly
connected, and not via a USB hub.
-Try the USB connection procedure again in cases
other than those stated above.
-The USB port of the connected computer may have
a problem . Connect the unit to another USB port of
the computer if available.
- A USB AC adaptor that is not recommended is
being used.
-The battery is fully charged.
If the batteryis fully charged, the POWER indicator
may blink and go off, and charging may not start.
This is not a malfunction.
- If the unit is not used for a long time, the POWER
indicator may take a while to light up red when you
connect it to your computer . In this case, do not
disconnect the micro-USB cable from the unit , and
wait until the POWER indicator lights up red.
Charging time is too long.
-Check that the unit and the computer are directly
connected, not via a USB hub.
- A cable which is not supplied is used.
- A USB AC adaptor that is not recommended is
being used.
Noise is generated.
-When connecting an audio device to the analog
input jack of the unit , adjust the v olume of the
connected device, then turn up the volume of the
unit.
-Keep the computer away from the unit.
-Restart the audio playback software.
-Turn off the connected audio de vice, then turn it
on again.
Sound is interrupted when connecting to
the computer.
-The CPU of your computer is overloaded. Close
other applications.
-Other USB devices are connected to your computer
and being used simultaneously. Quit operating
other USB device s.
A connected radio or TV cannot receive a
signal/ Noise is generated.
-Keep the connected device away from the unit.

d'ecoute
-Chargez le casque d'€coute a I'aide du cable

environnement dont Ia temperature est comprise
entre 5ocet 35 o c. Dans le cas contraire, le

batterie. Cette duree peut etre allongee en
