Precautions
On safety
l
Caution -The use of optical instruments with
this product will increase eye hazard.
l
Should any solid object or liquid fall into the
cabinet,unplug the systemandhaveit checked
by qualified personnelbefore operating it any
further.
On power sources
l
If you are not going to use the system for a
long time, be sure to disconnect the system
from the wall outlet. To disconnect the AC
power cord, grasp the plug itself; never pull the
cord.
l
Should the AC power cord need to be changed,
have it done at a qualified service shop only.
On placement
l
Place the system in alocation with adequate
ventilation to prevent heat build-up in the
system.
l
At high volume, over long periods of time, the
cabinet becomes hot to the touch. This is not a
malfunction. However, touching the cabinet
should be avoided. Do not place the unit in a
confined spacewhere ventilation is poor asthis
may cause overheating.
l
Do not block the ventilation slots by putting
anything on the system. The system is
equipped with ahigh power amplifier. If the
ventilation slots on the top surface areblocked,
the unit can overheat and malfunction.
l
Do not place the system on a soft surface such
asa rug that might block the ventilation holes
on the bottom.
l
Do not place the system in a location near heat
sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight,
excessive dust, or mechanical shock.
On operation
l
If the system is brought directly from a cold to
a warm location, or is placed in a very damp
room, moisture may condense on the lenses
inside the system. Should this occur, the
system may not operate properly. In this case,
remove the disc and leave the system turned on
for about half an hour until the moisture
evaporates.
l
When you move the system, take out any discs.
If you don’t, the disc may be damaged.
l
For power saving purposes, the system can be
completely turned off by the POWER button
on the main unit. Though the LED remains lit
for a while, the system is completely off.
On adjusting volume
Do not turn up the volume while listening to a
section with very low level inputs or no audio
signals. If you do, the speakersmay bedamaged
when a peak level section is played.
On cleaning
Clean the cabinet, panel, and controls with a soft
cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent
solution. Do not useany type of abrasivepad,
scouring powder or solvent such asalcohol or
benzine.

On cleaning discs
Do not use acommercially available CDlDVD
cleaning disc. It may causea malfunction.
On your TV’s color
If the speakersshould causethe TV screento have
color irregularity, turn off the TV at once then
turn it on after 15to 30 minutes. If color
irregularity should persist, place the speakers
further away from the set.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Caution: This system is capableof holding a
still video image or on-screendisplay imageon
your television screenindefinitely. If you leave
the still video image or on-screendisplay image
displayed on your TV for anextendedperiod of
time you risk permanentdamageto your
television screen.Projection televisions are
especially susceptibleto this.
