Sony Dash HID-C10 User manual

Step one:
Plug dash into an AC outlet.
Step two:
Watch the intro video to familiarize
yourself with the key features.

Select your time zone, which will set your
clock.

To get started you will need:

personalize your Dash
Note:
• Once connected, you may be prompted to take a software update. It’s
recommended to accept the update. The initial update can take 10 - 30
minutes, depending on your network connection.
•Check out the symbol along the way if you need help.

• The HOME screen can show
the Apps, clock, weather, photo
viewer, music player, or video
player. The layout of controls on
the Home screen is called the
theme.
• You can change the Home screen
layout on your dash by choosing
a different theme.
• To change the theme, press
MENU on the Command Bar,
then press Themes & Apps.
• From the Command Bar, touch
the HOME icon to return to the
Home screen.

Step one - Register:
Go to http://www.sony.com/mydash and
click on the REGISTER/ADD A DASH
button. During the registration process,
you’ll be asked for the device registration
code.
Step two - Channels & Apps:
Once the registration is complete, you
will be directed to the ‘My Dashboard’
page on the website. You can now create
channels, add Apps, and customize
Apps that link to a personal account (like
Facebook and Twitter).
Step three - Personalize Music & Video:
To link your dash to a music or video
service (such as Pandora or Slacker),
select ‘Personalized Music and Video’
under the ‘My Dash’ heading.

Locating your Registration Code:
The registration code is located on the Device info screen as shown above.

Why register your dash?
• Registering your dash allows you
to add Apps, create new channels
and manage the available audio
and video services.
• A channel is a playlist of Apps.
When you register your dash,
you can create customized App
channels, the order Apps appear,
and how long each App remains
on screen.
• You can create as many
channels as you want, and each
channel can have up to 100
Apps.
• Go to the next page in this
Guide for instructions on how to
register your dash.

Troubleshooting
• The dash should be located near
an easily accessible power outlet.
• To turn off or reset the unit,
unplug it from the AC outlet.
• Your device will automatically
update the software from time
to time.
• Minimum broadband connection
speed for video service is
2.5Mbps.
If unable to establish a
reliable connection to your
wireless network, please
check the following items:
• The wireless router is ON.
• The wireless router is connected
to the Internet.
• The network settings are correct.

Personal Internet Viewer
• Themes are home screen
layouts.
• You can change your theme
at anytime. New themes are
automatically added to Dash
once available.
Register the dash™Personal
Internet Viewer to add channels
and Apps at:
http://www.sony.com/mydash
• Apps deliver news, weather,
entertainment, and more.
• To nd Apps, touch MENU, then
select Themes & Apps.
• To add an App, touch Browse
Apps. Select the App you want
to add. The App will be added to
the current channel only.
• Some Apps, like Facebook or
Twitter, require you to congure
them online at:
http://www.sony.com/mydash.
• Your device comes with a default
App channel.
• Channels are playlists made
from Apps.
Apps, Channels, and Themes
• To change themes, from Themes
& Apps touch Theme Selection,
then choose a new theme.
• To setup your alarms, time/date or
weather locations, on the Command
Bar, touch MENU then select Clock
& Weather.
• The MENU/SNOOZE button
functions as a snooze bar when an
alarm is triggered.
• A custom alarm can be one-time,
repeat (specic days of the week),
or daily. Choose from tones, internet
radio, or select internet video to
wake you up.

Explore your options!
• You can set up multiple alarms, two clocks for different time zones, and multiple weather locations.
• From the Command Bar press From Night Mode, press Power Save to turn off the display. The device stays
running and your alarms remain active. To exit Night Mode, touch the screen anywhere.
You can set up to 4 custom alarms. Some services allow you to use specic videos or songs as an alarm. To add a
song or video to the alarm sound list, touch the screen when the video or song is playing. Select ‘Options’, and then
‘Save to Alarms’. The video or song will now be available for a custom alarm – in the ‘Music and Video’ category.
• The dash™Personal Internet
Viewer offers access to internet
video and audio content. From
the Main MENU – touch Video,
Music or Photo.*
• dash can connect to online
photo services like Photobucket
(Photobucket account required).
• You can play your content from
a USB Drive. Touch USB in the
Video, Music, or Photo menus to
see your les.
• More photo, music, and video
options are available in the App
Catalog.
* Some providers may require
registration to use the service.

Some content providers allow you to create accounts for their music and video.
To afliate a service with your dash account, go to http://sony.com/mydash and
select ‘Personalized Music and Video’ under the ‘My Dash’ category.
Customize!
• To adjust brightness, congure
network settings, or view device
info from the Command Bar,
touch MENU and then select
System.
• Touch Screen Brightness to
congure settings for Normal
Mode (daytime) and Night Mode.
Select Auto Dim to automatically
change from Normal to Night
settings.
• Touch Network Configuration
to view your current wireless
network settings, signal
strength, or change the network
conguration.
• Touch Device Info to view the
model serial number, software
version, and other information.
