INTRODUCTION
Sound Asso iates manufa tures two types of wireless stethos ope-style headset re eivers
designed for professional appli ations: the SA1521H (single- hannel) and SA1523H (3-
hannel). Our headsets are equipped with a sophisti ated re eiving ir uitry with multiple
re eiving diodes to in rease sensitivity. Also, high-performan e mi ro speakers are utilized to
give the user remarkable audio reprodu tion.
The SA1520 series headsets are ompatible with most infrared transmission systems urrently
in use. They are designed with a new industrial-strength hassis for added durability in
ommer ial appli ations. Its advan ed me hani al design ensures years of trouble-free use,
while making the headset omfortable to wear.
The SA1521H is designed to re eive a frequen y modulation of 2.3 MHz, while the SA1523H is
sele table between 2.3 MHz, 2.8 MHz and 95 kHz. The re eivers are worn under the hin,
stethos ope-style and are powered by a light weight lithium polymer re hargeable battery,
designed espe ially for the Sound Asso iates’ line of re eivers.
To ensure proper set up and use of the equipment, the following instru tions should be read
ompletely before attempting to use your re eiver. If you require further assistan e, please all

HEADSET VS. NECK INDUCTION LOOP
The SA1520 series of infrared headset re eivers is equipped with an audio ja k to omply with
revisions to the Ameri ans With Disabilities A t, effe tive Mar h 2011. The ja k will
a ommodate most external devi es that use a 3.5 mm (mini) ja k in luding ne k indu tion
loops and Co hlear devi es. Inserting the plug into the ja k automati ally mutes the amplifiers in
the earpie e and a tivates the external devi e. Note: The hearing aid must be equipped with
a “T” switch or have a telecoil setting to use a neck induction loop. The ombination of the
two devi es is likely to give the user greater volume and intelligibility than with the hearing aid or
headset alone.
UNPACKING UNIT
As soon as the shipment is re eived, inspe t the unit and all omponents for damage in urred
by shipping. If the unit is damaged due to shipping, please keep all pa king material and
onta t the shipping ompany as soon as possible. Only the onsignee may institute a laim
against a arrier for damage in urred in shipping, however, Sound Asso iates will assist you in
any su h event.

OPERATION
Using the Receiver
The re eiver is worn stethos ope style, under the user’s hin, with the Sound Asso iates logo
fa ing away from the body. (The SA1505 re hargeable battery must be inserted firmly into the
bottom of the re eiver.) The re eiver’s “on/off” swit h is lo ated internally and turns on
automati ally when worn; and shuts off when removed. The volume is adjusted by the slide
ontrol lo ated on the unit fa e.
Location and Use of Controls
1 – Channel Selector: (Model
SA1523H only) The re essed sele tor
button toggles to one of three positions:
2.3 MHz (left), 2.8 MHZ ( enter), and 95
kHz (right).
2 – Audio Jack: Fits most 3.5mm audio
plugs. For use with ne k indu tion
loops, Co hlear devi es and other
ompatible devi es. Note: inserting a
plug into jack will automatically mute
volume in the earpieces of the headset.
3 – Rechargeable attery: (Model SA1505) 3.7 volt that will run approximately 6 hours without
re harging. It an be re harged while in the headset using the drop-in harger or battery slots
on the SA1401 transmitter or SA1905-10 multi- harger (both sold separately).
4 - Volume Control: A slide ontrol to adjust the volume for ea h headset. With the Sound
Asso iates logo fa ing away from you, slide the ontrol to the right to in rease the volume.
5 – Silicone Ear Tips: (Model SA1920ST) Removable ear pie es are easily leaned with mild
detergent and warm water or repla ed when dirty.

Unit is set to Ch 1 (2.3 MHz)
Unit is set to Ch 2 (2. MHz, SA1523H only)

TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom Cause/Remedy
No static and no audio in the receiver The receiver is not powered or the infrared light is being
received with no audio signal “on its back”

WARRANTY
The SA1521H, SA1523H, and the SA1505 re hargeable battery are overed by a full one year
warranty, from the date of original pur hase, against defe ts in workmanship or materials. If
either omponent fails due to defe ts in raftsmanship or materials, we will repair or repla e that
omponent without harge. The fa tory warranty does not over malfun tions due to abuse or
operation other than spe ified.
