Static Eye Bolt Wrap 7011

a safe place. You may also access them on our website.
WARNING! Shackles will wear with use and must be inspected on a regular basis. Dis-
continue use of shackle and replace or have repaired immediately when wear begins to
show. Do not let wear exceed 30% of the shackle.
IMPORTANT: Please check equipment immediately for any damage that may have resulted during shipping.
If any damage has occurred, please contact Southpaw Enterprises, Inc. immediately.

INSTALLING THE EYE BOLT WRAP
• Place the bracket strap (the piece without the shackle) on top of the cross beam at a safe distance from the end
post. (Put the side with the shock pad against the cross beam).
• Put one flat washer on each of the hex head bolts, then put them through the holes in the hanger strap (the piece
with the shackle), going through from the shackle side.
• Put the bolts up through the holes in the bracket strap. Place a flat washer, a lock washer, and a non-locking nut
on each of the bolts. Tighten finger tight evenly.
• Tighten the bolts by holding the head of the bolt with one 3/4” wrench while using the other wrench to tighten the
nut. Alternate from one nut to the other, tightening them both evenly.
• When both bolts are tightened securely, put a self-locking nut on each bolt and tighten it down firmly against the
non-locking nut.
HEIGHT ADJUSTER OR SAFETY ROTATIONAL DEVICE NEEDED
A Southpaw Height Adjuster (# 5000) may be needed to adjust your equipment to the correct height for your client.
With all Southpaw suspended equipment, a Safety Rotational Device must be used to prevent damage to your
equipment.
MATTING PRECAUTIONS: Always use appropriate matting.
MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST
All of the following wear points should be checked on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and recorded on the checklist
enclosed.
• Try to turn the eye bolt on a DAILY basis. If it turns at all, remove and have repaired or replace immediately.
• Check to make sure that all nuts and bolts are tight on a weekly basis. If loose, discontinue use immediately until
tightened.
• WARNING! Check for eye bolt wear. If wear exceeds 30% of the diameter of the eye bolt, discontinue use
immediately and call Southpaw for repair or replacement.
• Use a Southpaw Safety Rotational Device (item #2000) to prevent abnormal wear and damage to equipment.
When replacing Safety Snaps or Rotational Devices due to normal wear, use only Southpaw replacement parts.

Nylon locking nut.

• Check to make sure that the eye bolt turns smoothly. If the eye bolt makes a noise while spinning, lubricate with
a grease gun at the grease fitting above the eye bolt. Add grease slowly until grease starts to appear where the
eye bolt turns in the bracket.

Replacement Eyebolt Kit 7015
Store these instructions along with the enclosed maintenance checklist
in a safe place. You may also access them on our website.
MATERIALS LIST:
1 - Eyebolt 1/2-13 x 6”
1 - 1/2” Flat Washer
1 - 1/2-13 Lock Nut
TO REMOVE WORN EYEBOLT:
Insert a large screwdriver through the “eye” of the eyebolt to keep it from turning while you loosen the nut using a 3/4”
wrench. Remove the eyebolt and discard the used parts. Do not reuse the old lock nut or washer.
TO INSTALL NEW EYEBOLT:
Insert the new eyebolt into the beam from the bottom to the top. Put the 1/2” washer on the bolt. Start the 1/2” lock nut
on the bolt. Insert the screwdriver through the “eye” of the eyebolt to keep it from turning while you tighten the nut.
When the nut is almost tight, turn the screwdriver to properly align the eyebolt and tighten the nut securely.
