Features of Cordless Telephones
A.Cordless telephonesoffer convenienceand mobility duringtelephoneconversations. Theuseof cordless
telephonesis dependent upontheavailabilityof ACpower.Any disruptionof electricalpower at your
locationwill preventtheplacingor receivingof telephonecalls. Itis recommendedthat acordless
telephoneshouldnotbeinstalledas theonly phoneat yourlocation.
B.Theuseable range of thecordlesshandsetawayfrom thebaseisdependentupon manyfactors.The
telephonebase is likearadio transmitter becauseittransmits telephoneline signalsviaradiowavestothe
handset. Therefore,thelocationof thebaseis important in order tomaximize theuseable range.For
example,installing thebaseonthesecondfloor, insome locations,will provide longer range thanaground
floor installation. Pick alocationthatgivesyoutheclearest signal.Thefollowingcan adversely affect
useable range:
·aluminumsiding
·insulation with foil backing
·any metalconstruction whichcould shield radiosignals.
Atmospheric conditionsalsoplayan important roleinthe performance of yourcordlesstelephone.
Interference canbe caused byplacing thebasenear:
·fluorescent lights
·appliances that generate electrical noise,including:
C.Alwayskeepthe baseantennafullyupright.
D.For maximum performance,alwayskeepthebattery pack fully charged.
E. Plugyourphonedirectly intoan outlet, notan extensioncord.
F.Do not plug other appliancesintotheoutlet or have the outletcontrolledby awall switch.
G.Ifyouwant tousemore than onecordless telephonein yourhome,the telephonesmust operateon
differentchannels.Pressthechannel key toselect achannel that providestheclearest communication.

recessedarea in thebottomof thewall mount
bracket,andplugintothetelephonewall jack.

a.When thebatterygets low,there will be alow-
battery beepevery 7seconds fromthehandset.
b. Ifthe batterybecomes lowwhile you are on a
call, you will be disconnected after about1minute.
Terminatethecall quickly and put thehandsetin
thecharge cradle torechargethebattery.
c.Thebattery will hold itscharge for
