General Setup & Usage
PROCEDURE
●Fix one of the CR700’s securely onto its magnet mount, then switch ON.
●Allow the detector to calibrate (CAL). This only takes a few seconds.
●Best practice is NOT to calibrate detector with the laser running. This is now the “Machine
CR700”.
●Next, switch ON the second Cab Repeater CR700. Let it calibrate. Again, this only takes a few
seconds.
●The display will show RMT.D and a fl ashing “OK”. This stands for “remote detector”
●Quickly press the Enter button on the CR700. (It is the bottom left-hand button).
●“OK” will stop fl ashing.
●Within 5 secs the CR700’s display will show RMT.D at the top.
●THE SYSTEM IS NOW READY TO USE.
●To switch OFF, hold ON/OFF button for 3 sec. The detectors can be switched off in any
order.
VERY IMPORTANT
●Always be careful to switch the Machine CR700 on fi rst & the Cab Repeater CR700 second,
otherwise the Machine CR700 changes to be the cab repeater, which is incorrect.
Below are some extra system refi nements, worth consideration…….
Machine CR700
●To save battery life, the sounder needs to be OFF and the LED’s set to LOW. (You are not
seeing nor hearing it, when in operation).
●Set the sensitivity (top right-hand button) to suit. The range is between 0.5mm for staff
use, up to 25mm on the machine. If its set too sensitive, it makes it diffi cult to use on your
machine.
Cab Repeater CR700
●Mount the Cab Repeater securely, without obstructing the Operator’s view.
●Set sounder to low volume using the bottom right-hand button.
●Your choice of course. It can be set louder or Off , if required.
●Sensitivity: Start with it set to 10mm.
●This will automatically change the sensitivity of the Machine CR700 too.
●There is the option of a 25mm setting, if this is more appropriate.
This data sheet gives helpful advice on the CR700/CR700 dual combination for machine use.
Note: Prior to dispatch, both CR700’s will be pre-paired via radio link.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
Protecting the CR700’s
●Your Spectra CR700’s are precision levelling equipment and should be treated as such.
Always handle with care.
●Always turn the Spectra CR700’s off when transporting or moving around the job site.
●Ensure the Spectra CR700’s are clean and dry before storing away.
●If wet, dry well before storing and store at room temperature. Failure to do so may void
warranty.
●NEVER store the Spectra CR700’s in a van, car or an unheated location (workshop / shed /
garage / lockup etc.) overnight. The Spectra CR700’s are designed to work in cold and wet
conditions but it’s the storage of the product when not in use that is critical. Keeping it in a
secure heated building increases the usable life of the product and reduces the possibility
of theft.
●When the Spectra CR700’s are not in use or is being stored long term, it is highly
recommended to remove the batteries.
●There are no user serviceable parts inside the Laser Level. Warranty void if tampered.
