5Prior to first use
Carefully remove the cable tie from the cable. Clean the surfaces of the immersion heater
thoroughly using lukewarm water.
6Operating the device
Preparation of heat-sterilised fruit juice (alcohol-free):
•Use a sieve to fill the freshly pressed juice into a juice vat, or allow sedimentation in a
different container for 3-4 hours after pressing to separate turbidity from the juice.
•Then suspend the immersion heater in the filled juice vat and plug in. Immediately
heat the juice to an even temperature of 85 – 90°C by means of the immersion heater.
For checking the temperature, use only the supplied thermometer. Any yeast cells in
the juice become inactive through this process. The vat reaches extremely hot
temperatures – risk of burning!
•Stir the juice several times during the heating-up phase. Finally tap a bucket (sterile)
from the bottom and pour back into the top; this ensures that the bottom of the vat is
also heated to 85 – 90°C, which is important for the shelf life of the juice.
•Then unplug the immersion heater and wait a few minutes until it is a little cooler.
Remove the device. The immersion heater will however still be hot. Risk of burning!
•Foam forms on the liquid surface. This must be removed by means of a sterile cooking
spoon. Then place the oil floating lid on the still-hot juice and seal using vaseline oil
(keeps oxygen out). Vaseline oil is food-safe and does not mix with the beverage.
•Only place the push-on lid on the juice once it has cooled. You can now tap your daily
“vitamin injection”.
•Additional information on the preparation of heat-sterilised fruit juice can be found in
the “Juice Vat” operating instructions.
7Cleaning and maintenance
After use, simply clean the immersion heater with a damp cloth. Do not use a wire brush
or any other abrasive items.
Also do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
Always switch off the device before cleaning and disconnect from the mains. Wait until
the device has cooled. Under no circumstances submerge the device fully in water for
cleaning. This could result in an electrical shock or fire.
8Remedying of faults
Do not perform repairs to the device yourself - rather seek out an authorised professional.
To avoid any risks, a defective mains cable may only be replaced with an equivalent
cable by the manufacturer, our customer service or a person qualified in this regard.
