Sharky – Ultrasonic compact
energy meter
The Sharky meter is a compact energy meter which provides an accurate way
of measuring the amount of heating and hot water consumed within each property.
SSE uses 2 types of heat meter: Sharky 773 and Sharky 775. The Sharky range of
meters provide a user friendly way of accessing your heating/hot water consumption.

Understanding your meter
Simple operation
A push button mounted on the front of the meter is used to switch to the
various displays.
There are 2 display loops that are relevant to you:
Main Loop and Monthly Value Loop.
An initial short press of the button activates the meter from power save mode.
You are now viewing the Main Loop.
The meter has 6 loops

6. Monthly Value Here you will find information on your historical usage
Short press of the button: switches to the next display within a loop.
Long press of the button: switches to the next display loop. This is necessary
to change from the Main Loop (1) to the Monthly Value Loop (6).
The meter switches automatically to power save mode if the button is not pressed
for approximately 4 minutes.
When the button is pressed again the meter is returned to the default
Main Loop display.

Significant displays
Main Loop
The Main Loop is the default display.
You will notice a small ‘1’ in the bottom left hand corner of the display,
when the loop is active.
A short press of the button will scroll through the Main Loop giving you
the following information:
1.1 Accumulated Energy
1.2 Volume
1.3 Flow
1.4 Power
1.5 Flow/Return Temperature
1.6 Temperature Difference
1.7 Operation Hours
1.9 Error code
1.10 Display Test
You will find your current meter reading in loop 1.1 Accumulated Energy.
Please note – kWh appears on the right hand side of the LCD screen when
the meter is displaying Accumulated Energy.

Monthly Value loop
Monthly Value Loop displays historical data from the energy meter.
You will notice a small ‘6’ in the bottom left hand corner of the display,
when the loop is active.
The last day of the previous month will now be displayed on the meter.
The display will automatically scroll through to the next window every
four seconds displaying the following information for a specific month:
• Date (last day of the previous month)
• Accumulated Energy reading
• Maximum Flow rate
• Maximum power
Your heat meter stores data for a total of 24 months.
To change from the default main loop display to the Monthly Value Loop:
1. Press and hold the button
2. Release the button when the number in the bottom left hand corner
of the display reads ‘6’.
