2. What is the difference between Balance ™Knee Control and Balance Knee?
Balance Knee Control is a single axis knee with Weight activated friction brake
Balance Knee is a 4-bar knee geometric design
3. What is included in the Balance Knee Control kit?
The Balance Knee BKC12500 includes:
Balance Knee Control (with knee cap)
Shin Ferrule
Manual Lock Kit
IFU0605
The Cosmetic Finishing Shin Ferrule is also available separately. Item number: BKN12550 Shin
Ferrule for Balance Knee (Same as for Balance Knee).
4. How do you align the Balance Knee Control?

0 –10 mm anterior to the pivot axis of knee (see figure)

5. How do I deactivate the locking function?
Pull the release cable, or lift the lock piece and hold it while tightening the set
screw (see figure)
6. How do I activate the Manual Lock?
Unscrew the set screw with 2 mm hex key
7. How does the selectable lock settings work?
Break off the small stop in the center of the release handle
User can select between default of positions of the lock
IMPORTANT: Make sure the user understands the
difference between the two settings and how to operate
the handle
8. How do you adjust the Balance Knee Control?
All adjustments are made with a 4 mm hex key
Adjustment order is important
a) Brake sensitivity adjustments
Verify the activation of the stance brake
b) Extension assist setting
Right turn: Increase extension assist
Left turn: Decrease extension assist
c) Brake play adjustments
Clockwise: Play is reduced. Only small adjustment is
required. Tighten until a slight resistance is felt.
Over tightening will cause excessive swing friction
Counterclockwise: Brake pre-tension is reduced
