Staples the Office Superstore, LLC (“Staples”) warrants to the original purchaser that this Staples
®
brand pencil sharpener shall be free of defects in design, assembly, material, or workmanship for
1 year from the date of purchase. In the event of a defect in the design, assembly, materials or
workmanship of this product within 1 year from the date of purchase, Staples will either replace
any such product with the same or equivalent product free of charge or refund 100% of the
purchase price at Staples’ sole option. To claim your replacement or refund, contact product
support at 1-800-425-0049. If replacement is necessary as determined by Staples, you will be
required to pack the product and ship it (at your expense) with the original sales receipt to the
address you are provided by product support. No product will be accepted without first obtaining a
Return Authorization Number from product support. You are responsible for the proper packaging
of the product, for any and all damage resulting from shipping, and for all shipping charges to
return the product to Staples. This warranty does not apply to normal wear or damage from
misuse, abuse, improper storage or handling, installation, accident, repair or alteration or other
circumstances not directly attributable to manufacturing or material defects. THIS WARRANTY IS
EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
STAPLES SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT
LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
IN NO EVENT WILL STAPLES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL,

Sharpening Pencils:
1. Insert the plug into any standard 120 volt AC outlet.
2. Insert the pencil into the sharpening hole and push
inward. The automatic switch will turn the sharpener on.
3. Let the unit sharpen for about 10 seconds.
4. Pull out the pencil and check that tip is sharpened.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed.
Use only standard wooden pencils (6.5-8.0mm diameter).
Refrain from inserting hard materials such as pens, chalk,
crayons, soft coloring pencils or anything which will
damage or clog the cutter blades.
- Hold the pencil straight to avoid uneven sharpening.
- Continuous sharpening of pencils should not exceed
20 minutes. If continuous use is required, it is recommended that
the working time should be 20 minutes on and
15 minutes off to allow for proper cooling of the motor.
-Sharpener is intended for indoor use only.
-Do not use this product if it or the cord has been damaged in any
way.
-Always turn off the pencil sharpener by unplugging the machine
before moving, cleaning or any other conduct other than normal
operation.
Emptying The Pencil Shavings:
1. Remove the plug from the outlet.
2. Slide the shavings bin out of the main housing.
3. Empty the shavings bin.
4. Slide the shavings bin back into the main housing.
5. To continue using insert the plug into any standard 120 volt AC
outlet.
Caution:
DO NOT immerse main unit in water.
DO NOT use any solvents such as alcohol, benzene or thinner
to clean the unit.
Never insert hand or finger into pencil or shavings bin
opening.
-Empty shavings bin regularly to avoid overloading the bin and
damaging the unit.
-Do not touch the cutter mechanism.
-Do not attempt to sharpen pencils while the shavings bin door
is open.
Cleaning The Unit:
1. Unplug the sharpener.
2. Use a brush to clean the inside of the shavings bin.
3. Clean the outside of the pencil sharpener with a damp cloth only.
4. Allow the unit to air dry before plugging back in.
Para sacar punta a los lápices:
1. Inserte el conector en un tomacorriente estándar de 120 V CA.

Para vaciar la basura del sacapuntas:
1. Retire el cable del enchufe.

ADVERTENCIA MISE EN GARDE
WARNING
Nunca introduzca la mano o los dedos en el receptáculo ni en
el orificio del sacapuntas.
- Vacíe el receptáculo regularmente para evitar que la unidad se
sobrecargue y se dañe.
- Evite tocar la cuchilla.
- No intente sacar punta a los lápices mientras la cubierta del
receptáculo esté abierta.
Para limpiar la unidad:
1.
Desconecte el sacapuntas.
2.
Utilice un cepillo para limpiar la parte interior del receptáculo.
3.
Limpie la parte exterior del sacapuntas sólo con un trapo húmedo.
4.
Deje secar la unidad antes de volver a conectarla.
Tailler le crayon :
1. Insérer la fiche dans n’importe quelle prise standard CA 120 V.
2. Insérer le crayon dans le trou d’aiguisage et enfoncer. Un
mécanisme automatique mettra le taille-crayon en marche.
3. Laisser l’unité tailler le crayon pendant 10 secondes.
4. Retirer le crayon et vérifier que la pointe est taillée. Répéter les
étapes 2 et 3 au besoin.
N'utiliser que des crayons standard en bois (6,5-8,0 mm de diamètre).
Éviter d'insérer des matériaux durs, tels que stylos, craies, crayons colorés
ou n'importe quoi, qui peuvent endommager ou obstruer les lames

Pour vider les copeaux :
1. Débrancher fiche de la prise.
2. Glisser le récipient à copeaux hors du boîtier principal.
3. Vider le récipient à copeaux.
4. Glisser de nouveau le récipient à copeaux dans le boîtier principal.
5. Pour continuer à l’utiliser, brancher la fiche sur une prise standard
de 120 volts.
Attention :
NE PAS immerger le taille-crayon dans l’eau.
NE PAS utiliser de solvants, tels que l'alcool, le benzène ou de
diluant pour nettoyer l'unité.
Ne jamais mettre votre main ou vos doigts dans l’ouverture
pour crayon ou le récipient à copeaux.
-Vider régulièrement le récipient à copeaux pour éviter de le
surcharger et d’endommager le taille-crayon.
-Ne pas toucher au mécanisme de coupe.
-Ne pas essayer de tailler de crayons quand le couvercle du
récipient est ouvert.
NETTOYER L’UNITÉ :
1. Débrancher le taille-crayon.
2. Utiliser une brosse pour nettoyer l'intérieur du récipient.
3. Nettoyer l’extérieur du récipient avec un tissu humide uniquement.
4. Bien sécher le taille-crayon avant de le rebrancher.
