• NOTE: Pumps with the “UL” Mark and pumps with the “US” mark are tested to UL Standard
UL778. CSA certied pumps are certied to CSA Standard C22.2 No. 108. (CUS.)

DO NOT RUN DRY. Operating the pump without water will damage seals and cause pump failure,
voiding the warranty.

Keep the pump, base, and inlet screen free of debris and foreign objects.
Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package
contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.

PREPARATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
This submersible utility pump is designed for portable applications. It can drain or remove water from
the following: small sh tanks, sump pits, sinks, window wells, swimming pool covers, boats, or other
small, ooded areas.
The pump includes a clear hose that is permanently attached. The end of this hose has a garden hose
adapter that can be connected to standard garden hose.
1. Remove the top cover from the pump by turning
the handle counter-clockwise.

4. CAUTION: Remove batteries from the pump
when they are discharged, or when the pump
will be stored for an extended time. Batteries
can leak and damage the pump electrical circuit. Top cover

3. Insert three alkaline ‘D’ cell batteries (not
included) into the battery compartment. When
inserting the battery compartment back into the
pump, the side with the 2 large brass pads goes
down, touching the springs inside the pump.

1. Before turning the pump on, place it in water and
unwind the hose completely. Water level must be
at least 1-1/4 in. before the pump will operate.
CAUTION: To prevent clogging, be sure the
pump is an area that is free from debris. If pump
is turned on before it is submerged, it may take
10 - 30 seconds for water to begin owing.
CAUTION: Check hose and connections for
leaks and kinks. A straight hose will allow the
pump to move more water faster.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3. Press the power switch on the pump to turn it
on. Hold the pump until water ows from the
hose, and be sure the pump is free from debris.

2. If you want the pump to oat, remove the lter
screen from the bottom of the pump. The pump
will then oat in an upright position. This is ideal
for pumping water with debris at the bottom or
where the water depth is more than the hose
length.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Turn pump off before performing any maintenance.
1. Periodically inspect the pump to be sure the inlet is free of debris.
4. Once the pump is no longer pumping water,
turn it o by pressing the power switch. Remove
the pump and hose when nished pumping
and ush the pump thoroughly with fresh, clean
water.

1. To clean debris from the pump:
a. Turn the pump upside down. Using a Phillips
screwdriver, unscrew the two lter screen
screws and remove the lter screen.
b. Clean out any debris.
c. If there is debris inside the pump, unscrew
the impeller chamber cap screws to access
the impeller and remove debris.
d. Replace impeller chamber cap, impeller
chamber cap screws, lter screen and lter
screen screws.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
Pump won’t start or
run.
1. The batteries need to be replaced. 1. Replace the batteries.
2. There is water inside the pump. 2. Remove the pump cover and
batteries, and dry the inside of
the pump. Allow the pump to dry
completely before re-installing the
batteries.
The pump runs
but does not pump
water.
1. The screen is blocked. 1. Clean the screen or impeller.
2. The hose is kinked, bent or coiled. 2. Straighten the hose.
3. The pump is airlocked. 3. Allow 10 - 30 seconds for the pump
to run in order to clear the airlock.
If this does not work, turn off the
pump, remove any additional
hoses, remove from water, place
back in the water and turn on.
4. The discharge height is too high. 4. Reduce the discharge height. The
maximum discharge height is 36
in. (3 ft.)
5. Additional garden hose is not sloping
downhill away from the pump.
5. When using long sections of
additional garden hose, the hose
must sloped away from the pump
so that gravity can help the water
flow. Slope the garden hose
downhill.
TROUBLESHOOTING

WARRANTY
This product is warranted for one year from the date of purchase or two years from the date of
manufacture, whichever occurs rst. Subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the manufacturer
will repair or replace to the original consumer, any portion of the product which proves defective due
to defective materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover replacement parts for failure
due to normal wear and tear. To obtain warranty service, contact the retailer from whom the product
was purchased. The manufacturer retains the sole right and option to determine whether to repair or
replace defective equipment, parts or components. Damage due to conditions beyond the control of
the manufacturer is not covered by this warranty. For warranty questions or service, call

THIS WARRANTY WILL NOT APPLY: (a) To defects or malfunctions resulting from failure to properly
install, operate or maintain the unit in accordance with printed instructions provided; (b) to failures
resulting from abuse, accident or negligence; (c) to normal maintenance services and the parts
used in connection with such service; (d) to units which are not installed in accordance with normal
applicable local codes, ordinances and good trade practices; and (e) the unit is used for purposes
other than for what it was designed and manufactured.
RETURN OF WARRANTED COMPONENTS: Any item to be repaired or replaced under this warranty
must be returned to the manufacturer at such place as the manufacturer may designate, freight
prepaid.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES,
AND MAY NOT BE EXTENDED OR MODIFIED BY ANYONE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES SHALL
BE LIMITED TO THE PERIOD OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY AND THEREAFTER ALL SUCH
IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE DISCLAIMED AND EXCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER SHALL
NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR
SPECIAL DAMAGES, SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGE TO, OR LOSS OF, OTHER
PROPERTY OR EQUIPMENT, LOSS OF PROFITS, INCONVENIENCE, OR OTHER INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY TYPE OR NATURE. THE LIABILITY OF THE
MANUFACTURER SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT UPON WHICH SUCH
LIABILITY IS BASED.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to
state. Some states do not allow limitations on duration of implied warranties or exclusion of incidental
or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
