Getting started
Charge theinternalbattery:
Usingthe includedUSBcable, connecttheunittotheUSBoutputofa computer,orothersuitable USB
powersource. Ifthebatteryisfullydischarged,youwillneedtohavethisconnectedforseveral
minutesbefore poweringonthePersonalRecorder.
Note: Itisrecommendedthatyou powertheunit usingtheseparatelyUSBpoweradapter, asthiswill
provide muchmore consistentoperation thanpoweringdirectlyfroma personalcomputer.
Disconnect fromthePC(unitmayremainconnectedifpoweredbyACadapter). PowertheunitONby
depressingtheMENU buttonforatleast10 seconds.
ConnectanAVsource:
Connecttheproduct totheoutputjacks of anAVsourcesuchasa DVDplayer,VHSplayerorvideo
cameratothe RED/WHITE/YELLOWinputRCAconnectors. Press theMODE buttontotoggle
betweenrecordandplaybackmode.
Record:
Press MODE button toenterRECORDmode. Press the “REC”keytostartrecording.Press itagainto
save the recordedvideoandcontinue torecord thenextvideo.
Playback:
Press mode button toenterPLAYBACKmode.Press the /keytoPLAY/PAUSEthevideo.
Ifmultiple videosare stored,press theforwardand backkeystoselectvideo.Audiomaterialmaybe
heard throughthe internalspeaker.Thevolumelevel isadjustedvia theUP/DOWNbuttons.
Playbackcanbe viewedeitherthroughthe internal monitor,orexternalcomposite video,orHDMI
digitalmonitor. ThePersonal Recorderis equippedwitha standardHDMIoutput,aswellas a 3.5mm
jackforcomposite video+L/Rlinelevel audio. Note thatwhenanexternalmonitor isused,the
internalmonitorwill be deactivated.
ConnectiontoPC:
Startyour PC,connecttheproductwiththePCbytheprovidedUSBcable forchargeordata transfer.
Whenthe PCshows USBcode ,youcancopyor delete thevideoontheproduct.
Notes:The itemwillbeautomaticallychargedonce USBisconnected. Itisrecommendedthatyou do
notplayvideoonthisunit whileconnectedtotheUSBportas it maydrawtoomuchcurrent.You
shouldonlyplayvideoon thisunit whilepoweredbythe internal batteryor anoptionalACadapter.
Insertion/removalofmicroSDcard
Insertthecard, withcontactsidesfacingupward.Note thecard willinsertandwithspringaction
latchintoplace.Press again, the card willspringoutslightly,thenitcanbepulledout.

OperationNotes
Chargingandoperatingthisunitwillbemuchmorereliable ifanexternal USBACadapterisusedas
opposedtopoweringsolelyfroma personalcomputer.These arecommonlyavailable forsmartphones,
tabletsand avarietyofsimilardevices.MCMElectronicsoffersavarietyof thesedevices,and
recommendspartnumbers28-19300or 28-19345.Theseare readilyavailable at
www.mcmelectronics.com.
ShouldthePersonalRecorderlockuporcrash, itmaybe resetvia the small openingintheback.This
is bestaccomplishedbyusinga straightenedpaperclip, andinsertingintothe holeontherearpanel.
NOTE: Thisshouldbe done verycarefullyasthe internalswitchandsurrounding circuitryis
extremelydelicate.
For bestinternalrecordingresults, a Class4oraboveMicroSD card mustbe used.
