Safety information
Please pay attention to the following safety
information!
!Read through this instruction manual from start to finish so as to
prevent damage due to incorrect operation.
!Clean and disinfect the bedside locker prior to first-time use and
every re-use.
!Instruct every patient in the safe operation of the bedside locker!
!Before using the bedside locker, always check that the bedside
locker is in perfect working order!
!The maximum load of the table top is 15 kg.
Do not lean on the table!
!When moving the bedside locker, pay attention to connecting
cables if the bedside locker is equipped with telephone, reading
lamp, nurse alarm, refridgerator, LCD screen or similar devices.
These cables must not be damaged, streched or torn.
!Danger of tipping!
If the bedside locker is fitted with a swivel arm and LCD
screen, or similar equipment: do not pull the swivel arm
beyond the adjustment range and do not push it
downwards. The bedside locker can tip up.
Important information for cleaning and care
Stains caused by coloured disinfectants must be removed
immediately, if not, then within 24 hours at the latest. A longer
contact period between the surface and disinfectant may
mean that discolouration or residues may occur.
The use of spirits is recommended when the surface is soiled
by products like printer's ink or felt-tipped pens.
The surfaces can be maintained by treating them now and
again with an acrylic cleaner.
Do not use:
!Abrasive sponges, steel wool, scouring cleaner and other
abrasive cleaners;
!Acetone based cleaning agents.
We recommend removing stains (coffee, tea, fruit juices)
within 72-96 hours using lukewarm water or a cleaning and
disinfecting agent.
For automatic cleaning
Observe AKBWA guidelines:
!Washing water: pH value 5 to 8, degree of hardness not over 5°
dH,tTotal salt content < 100 mg/litre
!Total duration of washing process: max. 6 min;
!Temperature of bedside locker: max. 70°C

Additional instructions for optional equipment with refrigerator
Safety instructions
6Observe the instruction manual for the refrigerator. This can be found in the refrigerator
itself.
6Ensure that the bedside locker is not cleaned in automatic bed cleaning facilities, or with
high pressure cleaners or a hose, and that it does not come into contact with an
excessive amount of fluids during cleaning or otherwise. Fluids entering the equipment in
this way can damage the refrigerator or lead to electrical hazards.
6Lay the mains cable in such a way that it cannot be driven over or stretched when
operating the bedside locker, or damaged by any moving parts of the bedside locker or
other mobile equipment in the vicinity (such as beds, equipment trolleys).
6Always ensure that the mains plug has been pulled out before moving the locker. Hang
the mains cable in the mains cable holder at the back to prevent it from falling to the
ground.
6Check the cable regularly for signs of mechanical damage (abrasion, exposed wires,
kinks, dents), in particular:
6after any mechanical loading, e.g. after the mains cable has been driven over by
the locker itself or by equipment trolleys or beds, etc.;
6if the cable has been pulled hard or bent, due to the bedside locker rolling away
whilst still plugged in, for example;
6after moving the bedside locker to another location, or after turning the bedside
locker body, and after moving the bed before plugging into the mains;
6at least once a month during continuous operation.
6Check the strain relief of the mains cable regularly to ensure the screws are tight.
6Do not use multiple socket outlets under the bedside locker. This can lead to electrical
hazards caused by a damaged mains cable or ingressing fluids.
Intended purpose
6When starting operation, during operation and for remedying problems, observe the enclosed instruction manual for the refrigerator.
6The refrigerator is intended exculsively for cooling and storing food and drinks.
6The refrigerator is not intended for cooling or storing medicine or any other substances.
6The bedside locker with refrigerator is not an electromedical device and does not have a connection for potential equalisation.
6The bedside cabinet must not be used as a medical trolley.
6The refrigerator may not be used in explosive atmospheres.
6For optimum refrigeration the bedside locker should not be operated close to a heat source, in direct sunlight, or with the ventilation grille
