5. Additional functions and modifications in software version V02.22
5.1 Password handling
New: up to 6 incorrect password entries are allowed, after which a 3 minute pause must
be observed.
New: password entry is displayed in clear text, with correction option (delete line: 7).
(When EXICALL is reset to the factory default settings, the 3 minute pause is set to zero.
Resetting the opened unit must only be done at the factory. If EXICALL is opened by the
customer, all rights to claim under the guarantee become null and void).
5.2 Disable incoming call
New: where an EXICALL is connected in parallel with a second telephone, it is now possible
to reply no to the question Answer in programming item no. 214. EXICALL now waits for
250 rings before answering an incoming call. It is improbable that anyone would wait for so
long. In addition, the ringer volume can now be set to 1 = off in programming item no. 282.
Attention: If incoming calls are disabled using the method described above, remote
programming of EXICALL is no longer possible.
6. Remote Control Option
6.1 Remote control operation
Remote control by the called party is possible by issuing the following commands during a
call (only possible from a touch tone dial telephone):
Cmd. Contact K3 closes Password Cmd. Contact K3 closes Password
2 2 sec.+ hang up with/without 7 4 sec. with/without
3 4 sec.+ hang up with/without 8 8 sec. with/without
4 8 sec.+ hang up with/without 9 until end of call with/without
5 3/1/3 sec. + hang up with/without 0 Test contact K2 none reqd.
6 2 sec. with/without 1 Hang up EXICALL none reqd.
6.2 Conditions for issuing remote control commands 0 to 9
6.21 Commands 0 to 9
Pauses between key-presses (e.g. between and 0) must be no longer than 3 seconds.
The same applies to password entry.
6.22 Commands 0 and 1
These commands may be issued without a password, i.e. even if a password is entered, it is
not checked. Command 1 may immediately follow commands 6 to 8.
6.23 Commands 2 to 9
These commands require a password, assuming one has been programmed (this is identical
to the programming password, menu item 111). If a new command is entered before the end
of the impulse (contact K3 closure time), the impulse is re-started, i.e. it is not extended by
the corresponding period.

7. Seizure Relay Option
A seizure relay is available as an additional component inserted in series with the a-b
connection. The floating output contact K4 is closed from the time the key is pressed, until
the end of the call.
8. Day/Night Switch Option
EXICALL can now be programmed via menu item no. 143 so that the ext. C/A contact K2 is
defined as a DAY/NIGHT switch. When contact K2 is open (day) pressing the call button
dials the first number; when contact K2 is closed (night) the second number is dialled
instead. If there is no reply or the number is engaged, the night number is called during the
day and vice versa, or neither number is called (depending on the selection under menu item
274).
9. Explosion Protection, Zone 2, T1 - T6
According to SN-SEV 1000 (NIN), EXICALL type NIT 960 may be used in zone 2 and in gas
groups IIA, IIB and IIC, where there is an explosion hazard due to flammable agents in the
T1 to T6 temperature class range.
For information and special conditions, users and electricians should refer to the appendix to
certificate A. No. 96.1 10403 published by the Swiss Electrotechnical Association and the
Federal High Voltage Supervisory Board.
