Who Should Use This Book
This book is written for a qualified Sunfield service engineer or system
administrator. You must have experience as a system administrator or field
service engineer in order to perform the procedures in this book.

Individuals who remove any outer panels or open covers to access this
equipment must observe all safety precautions and ensure compliance with
skill level requirements, certification, and all applicable local and national
laws.
Procedures contained in this document must be performed by qualified
service-trained maintenance providers.
Caution – Do not make mechanical or electrical modifications to the
equipment. Sun Microsystems, Inc. is not responsible for regulatory
compliance of a modified SPARCstorage Library.
Caution – There is a lithium battery soldered on the SMC controller card.
When the lithium battery needs to be replaced, replace the entire SMC
controller card. Do not dispose of the SMC controller card, with the lithium
battery in fire.
