…prepare your supplied-air
system
Air quality
If you are using a compressor or pump to supply
breathing air to the user, the placement of the
air intake is crucial. The air at the source:
•Must have a minimum of impurities.
•Must never exceed the hygienic limit
level.
•Must contain so little mineral oil that no
smell of oil is detectable (usually less
than 0.3 mg/m³).
•Must ensure that the dewpoint of the air
is so low that no water condensation will
occur.
Setting up the system
A fixed supplied-air system has to be designed,
constructed and maintained properly. While
many air tools can be operated on unfiltered air,
breathing air should always be clean and free of
humidity, oil and smells.

The supply line from the air source to the
supplied-air filter must be at least 11 mm in
inside diameter.
A thinner hose or pipe may restrict maximum
airflow.

…prepare the SR99
Inlet
The inlet thread is a ½” BSP female. Fit a suitable
coupling/nipple that matches your fixed
supplied-air system.
Outlet
There are two 1/2" BSP female outlets (one
outlet is plugged on delivery). The unit is
supplied with one CEJN 342 series coupling. Fit
the supplied coupling to the open outlet.
…make 2 outlets
Remove the plug and fit a second outlet coupling
(not supplied).
…make 3 outlets
Connect the Y-coupling to one of the outlets.
You now have 3 outlets.
…drain the water trap manually
The water trap drains itself automatically as soon
as the air supply is turned off.
You can also drain it manually by pressing on the
drain valve at the bottom of the bowl with a
screwdriver or similar.

IMPORTANT!
Draining the water trap manually will also
depressurise the entire SR99.
Before performing any maintenance on the
SR99, switch off the air source, disconnect the
supply hose, and depressurise the SR99 as
shown.
…remove the filter
•Turn off the air supply or disconnect the
incoming air.
•Drain the water trap manually. This will
also depressurise the entire SR99 unit.
•Turn the SR99 upside-down.
•Push the red ring on the hose connector
on the filter, and disconnect the hose.

•Unscrew all 4 knobs holding the lid. Lift
off the lid.
•Lift out the filter itself.
…check whether the filter needs
to be replaced
•If you can smell or taste any impurities in
the breathing air, replace the filter
immediately.
•Check the date stamp on the filter. If the
date has expired, fit a new filter.
•Under normal conditions, the filter
should last around 6 months, but this
can vary greatly depending on a range of
operational and environmental factors.
•One way of checking whether the filter
needs to be replaced is to weigh it. The
weight of the filter when it was unused is
displayed on the filter exterior. If the
weight has increased by 100–150 grams,
replace the filter.

…fit a new filter
Put the filter components back in reverse order.
The filter ends are identical, and it doesn’t
matter which way the filter is inserted.
Pay attention to the order and number of the
sealing rings (A, D and E in the picture).
Ensure that the lid fits snugly, and that the end
caps fit into their respective grooves.
…clean the pre-collector

incoming air.

•Drain the water trap manually. This will
also depressurise the entire SR99 unit.
•Turn the SR99 upside-down.
•Remove the outer guard. Slide the black
locking device down, and turn the outer
guard anti-clockwise (bayonet fitting).
Lift off.
•Remove the bowl. Push down and turn
anti-clockwise (bayonet fitting). Lift off.
•Wash the bowl in maximum +60°C water
only. Do not use solvents.
•Unscrew and remove the collector
element.

•Blow-clean and dry all parts with a
supplied-air gun.
•Reassemble all parts in reverse order.
…clean the exterior of the SR99
Use a mild detergent and water and wipe the
exterior of the filter with a soft cloth, sponge or
brush. Warm water may give a better clean.
Leave to dry and store in a dry, clean area at
room temperature away from direct sunlight.
The unit can also be cleaned and blow-dried with
a supplied-air gun.
IMPORTANT! Never use solvents to clean the
equipment.
