Intended use
Contraindications
The mask is a noninvasive accessory used for channeling airflow with or without supplemental
oxygen to a patient from a positive airway pressure (PAP) device such as a continuous positive
airway pressure (CPAP) or bi-level system. The mask is intended for single-patient use. The
mask is for users weighing over 66 pounds.
If the user has the following complications, the product may not be suitable for use. Special
attention should also be given when it must be used. In either case, it is up to the doctor to
decide whether or not to use the mask. These complications include:
• Recent eye surgery or dry eyes
• Glaucoma
• Hiatal hernia
• Impaired cardiac sphincter function, excessive reflux, impaired cough reflex
• Vomiting
• Bullous Lung Disease
• Pathologically Low Blood Pressure
• Bypassed Upper Airway
• Pneumothorax
• Diagnosis of acute sinusitis or otitis media
• Risk of aspiration of gastric contents
• Allergy or hypersensitivity to the mask materials, or inability to remove the mask
CAUTION:
In the United States, Federal law restricts the sale of this device by or on the order of a physician.

WARNINGS:
• Please read the entire guide before use.
• Remove all packaging before using the mask.
• Ensure mask vent holes are clear from obstruction.
• CPAP systems are intended to be used with special masks with connectors which have
vent holes to allow continuous flow of air out of the mask. When the CPAP machine is
turned on and functioning properly, new air from the CPAP machine flushes the exhaled air
out through the attached mask exhalation port. However, when the CPAP machine is not
operating, enough fresh air will not be provided through the mask, and exhaled air will
be rebreathed. Rebreathing of exhaled air for longer than several minutes can, in some
circumstances, lead to suffocation. This warning applies to most models of CPAP systems.
• At low CPAP pressures the flow through the exhaled port may be inadequate to clear all
exhaled air from the tube. Some rebreathing may occur.
• To minimize the risk of vomiting during sleep, the patient should avoid eating or drinking
for three hours before using the mask. This mask is not recommended if the patient is
taking a prescription drug that may cause vomiting.
• Do not use the mask without the Non-Rebreathing Valve in place.
• This mask should not be used on patients who are uncooperative, obtunded, unresponsive,
or unable to remove the mask.
• Follow all precautions when using supplemental oxygen.
• Oxygen flow must be turned off when the flow generator is not operating, so that unused
oxygen does not accumulate within the flow generator enclosure and create a risk of fire.
• At a fixed flow rate of supplemental oxygen, the inhaled oxygen concentration varies,
depending on the pressure settings, patient breathing pattern, mask, point of application
and leak rate.
• The technical specifications of the mask are provided for your clinician to ensure
compatibility with the flow generator. If it is used beyond technical specifications or
used with incompatible devices, the seal and comfort of the mask may not be effective,
optimum therapy may not be achieved, and leak, or variation in the rate of leak, may
affect the function of the flow generator.
• Stop using the mask and consult your physician or sleep therapist, if you have ANY adverse
reaction to the use of the mask.
• Refer to your flow generator manual for details on settings and operational information.
• As with all masks, some rebreathing may occur at low CPAP pressures.

Unclip one of the lower headgear clips from the frame.
To remove the mask, disconnect one of the lower headgear clips and pull the mask and
headgear up over your head.
Hold the mask steadily on your face and pull the headgear over your head.
Bringing the lower headgear straps below your ears, clip the headgear to
the lower part of the frame.
Undo the fastening tabs on the upper headgear straps. Pull the straps evenly until they
are comfortable and firm, and reattach the Velcro. Ensure that the mask fits well.
Undo the fastening tabs on the lower headgear straps. Connect the device air tubing to
the swivel of mask and ensure it is firmly connected. Pull the straps evenly until the mask
is stable and comfortable. Reattach the fastening tabs.
Your mask and headgear should be positioned as shown in the illustration.
CAUTIONS:
• Please confirm that you can remove the clip and headgear freely
• Do not remove the headgear until the clip is released

Detach the air tubing. Unclip the lower headgear clips and unhook the upper
headgearstraps.
Fit the cushion into the channel of the frame.
Gently separate the cushion from the frame.
Thread the upper headgear straps through the loop of the frame and secure. Clip the
headgear to the lower part of the frame.
NOTES:
Do not remove elbow assembly unless necessary.

Cleaning the Mask at Home
Daily / After Each Use
NOTES:
• Only hand wash the mask and headgear.
• The elbow and the valve cannot be disassembled for washing.
• If any visible deterioration of a mask component is apparent (cracking, tears, etc), the mask
component should be discarded and replaced.
• It is recommended to replace the mask every month or after 30 cleanings.
CAUTIONS:
• Do not use solutions containing bleach, chlorine, alcohol, aromatics, moisturizers, antibacterial
agents, or scented oils to clean any part of the system or air tubing. These solutions may
cause damage and reduce the life of the product.
• Avoid exposing any part of the system or tubing to direct sunlight or heat, which may
cause deterioration.
• Do not use a dishwasher to wash mask.
• Do not air dry mask components in direct sunlight as it may accelerate product aging.
• Do not iron the headgear. It may damage the headgear.
• If cleaning is not done in accordance with the instructions , or if cleaning frequency is
increased, it may result in poor product performance or reduced product life.
• Disassemble the mask components according to the disassembly instructions.
• Thoroughly clean the separated mask components (excluding headgear), by gently rubbing in
warm (approx. 30°C) water using mild soap. Soak in water no more than 10 minutes.
• Use a soft bristle brush to clean the vent.
• To optimise the mask seal, facial oils should be removed from the cushion after use.
• Inspect each component and, if required, repeat washing until visually clean, making sure
there is no soap residue.
• Rinse all components well for 3-5min with drinking quality water and allow to air dry out
of direct sunlight.
• When all components are dry, reassemble according to the reassembly instructions.

mask in a dry place out of direct sunlight.

La mascarilla es un accesorio no invasivo que se usa para canalizar el flujo de aire al pa-
ciente, con o sin oxígeno complementario, desde un dispositivo de presión positiva en las
vías respiratorias (PAP), por ejemplo, un sistema de presión positiva continua en las vías
respiratorias (CPAP) o binivel. La mascarilla es para uso en un solo paciente. La mascarilla es
para que la usen personas que pesen más de 30kg.
Si el usuario tiene las complicaciones que se enumeran a continuación, es posible que la
mascarilla no sea apta para que la use. También debe prestarse especial atención cuando se la
debe usar. En cualquier caso, es responsabilidad del médico decidir si usar o no la mascarilla.
Estas complicaciones incluyen:
• Cirugía ocular reciente o sequedad en los ojos
• Glaucoma
• Hernia de hiato

ADVERTENCIAS:
• Lea esta guía en su totalidad antes del uso.
• Retire todo el embalaje antes de usar la mascarilla.
• Compruebe que los orificios de ventilación de la mascarilla no estén obstruidos.
• Los sistemas de CPAP están previstos para usarse con mascarillas especiales con conectores que
tengan orificios de ventilación para permitir la salida continua del flujo de aire de la mascarilla.
Cuando el aparato de CPAP está encendido y funciona correctamente, el aire nuevo que proviene
del aparato de CPAP purga el aire exhalado hacia fuera a través del orificio de exhalación de la
mascarilla conectada. Sin embargo, cuando el aparato de CPAP no está en funcionamiento, no
se suministra suficiente aire fresco por la mascarilla, y se vuelve a inhalar el aire exhalado. En
algunas circunstancias, la reinhalación del aire exhalado durante más de varios minutos puede
causar asfixia. Esta advertencia se aplica a la mayoría de los modelos de sistemas de CPAP.
• Con CPAP bajas, el flujo que pasa por el orificio de exhalación puede ser insuficiente para
que se elimine todo el aire exhalado del tubo. Puede haber algo de reinhalación.
• Para reducir al mínimo el riesgo de vomitar mientras duerme, el paciente debe evitar
comer o beber durante las tres horas previas a usar la mascarilla. No se recomienda esta
mascarilla si el paciente toma un medicamento recetado que puede causar vómitos.
• No use la mascarilla si no tiene colocada la válvula antirreinhalación.
• Esta mascarilla no debe usarse en pacientes que no colaboran, que están obnubilados o
inconscientes o que no pueden quitarse la mascarilla.
• Siga todas las precauciones cuando use oxígeno complementario.
• El flujo de oxígeno debe apagarse cuando el generador de flujo no esté en funcionamiento para
que el oxígeno sin usar no se acumule dentro del recinto del generador y cree riesgo de incendio.
• Con un caudal fijo de oxígeno complementario, la concentración de oxígeno inhalado
varía, dependiendo de la configuración de la presión, el patrón respiratorio del paciente, la
mascarilla, el punto de aplicación y la tasa de fuga.
• Se proporcionan las especificaciones técnicas de la mascarilla para que su médico pueda
confirmar que es compatible con el generador de flujo. Si se usa más allá de las especificaciones
técnicas o con dispositivos que no son compatibles, es posible que la mascarilla no proporcione
un sellado y comodidad efectivos, que no se obtenga el tratamiento óptimo, y que las fugas o la
variación en la tasa de fugas afecten el funcionamiento del generador de flujo.
• Deje de usar la mascarilla y consulte a su médico o terapeuta del sueño si tiene CUALQUIER
reacción adversa al uso de la mascarilla.
• Consulte el manual del generador de flujo para conocer información detallada sobre la
configuración y el funcionamiento.
• Como con todas las mascarillas, puede haber algo de reinhalación si la CPAP es baja.

Desabroche una de las presillas de las correas inferiores del arnés del marco.
Para quitarse la mascarilla, desabroche una de las presillas de las correas inferiores del arnés
y pase la mascarilla y el arnés sobre su cabeza.
Sostenga la mascarilla sobre su cara con firmeza y pase el arnés sobre su cabeza.
Lleve las correas inferiores del arnés por debajo de sus orejas y abroche el arnés a la
parte inferior del marco.
Abra las lengüetas de ajuste de las correas superiores del arnés. Tire de las correas
de manera pareja hasta que las sienta cómodas y firmes y vuelva a cerrar el Velcro.
Compruebe que la mascarilla quede bien colocada.
Abra las lengüetas de ajuste de las correas inferiores del arnés. Conecte el tubo de aire
del dispositivo al conector giratorio de la mascarilla y verifique que quede ajustado con
firmeza. Tire de las correas de manera pareja hasta que la mascarilla se sienta estable y
cómoda. Vuelva a cerrar las lengüetas de ajuste.
La mascarilla debe quedar colocada como se muestra en la ilustración.
PRECAUCIONES:
• Confirme que pueda quitar la presilla y el arnés sin obstáculos.
• No se quite el arnés hasta que la presilla no esté desabrochada.

Desconecte el tubo de aire. Desabroche las presillas de las correas inferiores del arnés y
desenganche las correas superiores del arnés.
Encastre el amortiguador en el canal del marco.
Separe el amortiguador del marco con suavidad.
Pase las correas superiores del arnés por el gancho del marco y sujételas. Abroche el
arnés a la parte inferior del marco.

Limpieza de la mascarilla en el hogar
Diariamente/después de cada uso
NOTAS:
• Solamente lave a mano la mascarilla y el arnés.
• El codo y la válvula no se pueden desensamblar para lavar.
• Si observa un deterioro visible de un componente de la mascarilla (grietas, rajaduras, etc.),
el componente debe desecharse y reemplazarse.
• Se recomienda reemplazar la mascarilla todos los meses o después de 30 limpiezas.
PRECAUCIONES:
• No use soluciones que contengan lejía, cloro, alcohol, sustancias aromáticas, humectantes,
productos antibacterianos ni aceites perfumados para limpiar ninguna parte del sistema o
el tubo de aire. Estas soluciones pueden dañar el producto y reducir su vida útil.
• Evite exponer cualquier parte del sistema o el tubo a la luz directa del sol o al calor, ya que
pueden causar deterioro.
• No lave la mascarilla en un lavavajilla.
• No seque al aire los componentes de la mascarilla a la luz directa del sol, ya que se puede
acelerar el desgaste del producto.
• No planche el arnés. Se puede dañar.
• Si la limpieza no se realiza de acuerdo con las instrucciones, o si se aumenta la frecuencia de
limpieza, puede ocasionar que el producto no funcione bien o que se reduzca su vida útil.
• Desensamble los componentes de la mascarilla siguiendo las instrucciones para hacerlo.
• Limpie bien los componentes separados de la mascarilla (excepto el arnés) frotándolos
suavemente en agua tibia (aproximadamente a 30°C) con jabón suave. Sumérjalos en
agua durante no más de 10 minutos.
• Use un cepillo de cerdas blandas para limpiar los orificios de ventilación.
• Para optimizar el sellado de la mascarilla, se deben retirar los aceites faciales del amor-
tiguador después del uso.
• Revise cada componente y, si es necesario, vuelva a lavarlo hasta que se vea limpio,
asegurándose de que no queden residuos de jabón.
• Enjuague bien todos los componentes durante 3 a 5 minutos con agua potable y deje que
se sequen al aire fuera de la luz directa del sol.
• Cuando todos los componentes estén secos, vuelva a ensamblarlos siguiendo las instruc-
ciones para hacerlo.
