Due to the height of a pellet grill, whi h sits at over 17 in hes below the ounter level,
pla ing a ess doors beneath the grill an be diffi ult. While some 14x20 horizontal doors
may fun tion well, in most ases, it is re ommended to use a few of our 30" Designer Series
Drawers, Item No. DE-MD30 or DE-SD30. These drawers provide ample storage spa e while
also being easily a essible.
It is important to note that sin e this is an Ele tri al Pellet Grill, there is no need to pla e

ATTENTION: You must onta t your lo al home asso iation, building or fire offi ials, or
authority having jurisdi tion, to obtain the ne essary permits, mission, or information on
any installation restri tions, su h as any grill being installed on a ombustible surfa e,
inspe tion requirements or even ability to use, in your area.
ATTENTION: Major auses of applian e fires are a result of poor maintenan e and a
failure to maintain required learan e to ombustible materials. Always keep a Minimum of
24 In h Clearan e from ALL Combustible Materials.
Clearances to Combustible Construction:
Minimum of 24” from the sides and rear of grill must be maintained to adja ent verti al ombustible
onstru tion above the ountertop level. You should take in a ount that there is a large volume of heat,
and smoke will exhaust from the rear of the grill. This may dis olor or damage unprote ted areas, do not
install under unprote ted ombustible onstru tion without using a fire safe ventilation system. A 24”
minimum learan e must be maintained under the ountertop to ombustible onstru tion. The learan e

SAFETY GUIDELINES
Combustible Floor Materials:
When installing a pellet grill, it is important to avoid installation on ombustible floors, su h as wooden or
arpeted floors, to prevent the risk of fire. The Pellet Grill should be installed on non- ombustible floors or
floors that are prote ted with non- ombustible surfa es. The prote tive surfa e should be approved for use
by the authority having jurisdi tion, whi h may in lude lo al building odes or other regulatory bodies.
Examples of non ombustible surfa es that may be suitable for prote ting floors during pellet grill
installation in lude on rete, bri k, or tile. These surfa es are less likely to ignite if exposed to heat or
sparks from the grill and an help to prevent the spread of fire in the event of an a ident.
Combustible Ceiling or Overhang:
Installing a pellet grill under a ombustible eiling or overhang in reases the risk of fire, as heat and sparks
from the grill an ignite nearby materials. Therefore, it is strongly re ommended to avoid installing a pellet
grill under a ombustible eiling or overhang. If installation in su h an area is ne essary, a minimum
learan e of 5 feet must be maintained between the ounter and the overhead eiling or stru ture. This will
help to minimize the risk of fire and ensure a safe and enjoyable outdoor ooking experien e.
Furthermore, all installations under a eiling or overhang whi h are above the grill installation must have a
vent hood installed at a minimum of 36 in hes from the ountertop to the bottom edge of the vent hood.
This will help to ensure proper ventilation and prevent any heat buildup or smoke damage to the overhead
stru ture.

Island Safety & Construction
Constru ting an outdoor kit hen island is a great way to enhan e your outdoor living spa e
and entertain guests while enjoying deli ious grilled meals. However, it is important to
ensure that your outdoor kit hen island is onstru ted with proper air- ir ulation to prevent
the build-up of heat and provide safety for your family and property.
When using the Sunstone Pellet Grill, it is essential to have a minimum of two vents set in a
high position to allow high heat to es ape and provide proper air- ir ulation. This is
espe ially important when any gas applian es are in use. If you're using Natural Gas, then
two vents in a high position are re ommended. If you're using Liquid Propane, then two
vents - one in a high position and one in a low position - are essential.
This is a safety essential, as more homes burn down every year simply be ause the
homeowner did not properly onstru t the outdoor kit hen island and have proper air-
ir ulation. Any gas grill or pellet grill holds the heat below the ounter surfa e, unlike an
indoor ooktop where the flame is above the ounter surfa e, so a mu h larger volume of
heat an build-up within the island onstru tion.
By providing proper air- ir ulation and ventilation, you an redu e the risk of fire and
ensure that your outdoor kit hen is a safe and enjoyable spa e to ook and entertain. In
addition to proper ventilation, it's also important to follow all safety guidelines for outdoor
ooking, in luding keeping flammable materials away from the grill and keeping a fire
extinguisher nearby.
Proper air- ir ulation is essential when onstru ting an outdoor kit hen island with a
Sunstone Pellet Grill.
It is important to have a minimum of two vents set in a high position to allow high
heat to es ape and provide proper air- ir ulation.
For Natural Gas, it is re ommended to have two vents set in a high position. For
Liquid Propane, it is essential to have two vents in low positions.
This is a safety essential to prevent the build-up of heat and redu e the risk of fire.

1. Slide Grill in Place
Begin by sliding the grill into pla e, ensuring it aligns properly with the ut-out. The grill is
designed with an internal built-in hanger lip lo ated on the right, left, and ba k sides. This
allows the grill to hang by the three supported edges, while the front ontrol panel hangs
down the front of the ut-out.
2. Electrical Connection
Conne t the ele tri al supply to the grill. This outdoor ooking applian e is equipped with a
three-prong (grounding) plug for prote tion against sho k hazard and should be plugged
dire tly into properly grounded three-prong outlets. The ele tri al onne tion to the grill is
lo ated behind the ba k left side orner. Double- he k that the plug is tightly pushed into
the plug so kets at the ba k of the grill. Lift any loose wire and atta h it to the ba k wall,
keeping it away from any potential water olle tion on the floor of the island interior.
3. Allow for Ventilation
Proper ventilation is riti al to the safe and effi ient operation of the grill. Ensure there is a
minimum of 6 in hes of learan e behind the grill to allow for proper airflow. The grill is
engineered with spe ial vents on the ba k of the unit, whi h allow for proper airflow out of
the ba k of the grill. Push the grill all the way into the ut-out, so that there are no gaps
present between the grill and the inside of the island frame. Ensure that the grill ontrol
panel is flush against the island wall. Be sure to additionally have a minimum of Two-Vents
pla ed in a High Position on the island wall, as to allow High-Heat Air-Cir ulation for within
the island onstru tion.
4. Familiarize Yourself with the Grill
Read all the instru tion manual guides and information to familiarize yourself with the grill.
Turn the pellet grill on by pressing the round button just below the ontrol panel on the left-
hand side. Get to know the digital ontrol panel, see the three modes, SMOKE, GRILL and
SEAR. The temperature gauge is in the enter top, while the desired temperature is in the
enter bottom. On the right side are the three prongs with individual temperature readouts,
onne t the prongs at the bottom of ontrol panel, with the three adja ent plugholes.
Familiarizing yourself with the grill will help you to understand how to properly operate the
grill and ensure that you get the most out of your outdoor ooking experien e.
5. Add Pellets
Fill the hopper with wood pellets of your hoi e. Make sure to use only high-quality pellets
designed for use in pellet grills, as lower quality pellets an ause issues with the grill's
performan e. We re ommend B&B Wood Pellets – see www.bb har oal. om.

GRILL SEASONING
PAGE 14
1. Grill Preparation
Proper Grill Maintenan e needs to be part of your annual are of the Pellet Grill, the
following solutions help ensure your grill will last for your lifetime and beyond. First, make
sure that your grill is off, and the grates are old. Wash all surfa es of Pellet Grill
Before using the grill, wash all surfa es with warm soapy water and a wet sponge. This helps
to remove debris off the surfa e whi h may otherwise ause rust staining. Dry with a soft
towel.
2. Seasoning your Grill
You'll need spray bottles of high-heat ooking oil, su h as vegetable oil, anola oil, or peanut
oil. Any ooking oil with a high smoke point will work well for grilling.
The first thing you want to do is spray the inside of your grill, paying spe ial attention to any
stainless-steel grates and emitter plates. You'll also want to put a thin layer of oil on all
inside surfa es of your grill. Remove the inside parts of the grill to make sure you an get to
all the surfa es.
3. Turn on the Grill – See Grill Startup Page 17
Next, turn up the heat to high and let the grill get hot. The oil will seep into the pores of the
steel and bake in, harden, and reate a smooth nonsti k oating. Let it burn and smoke and
work its high heat magi for a good 30 to 40 minutes.
Seasoning your grill has three benefits: easier ooking and leaning, better flavor, and
extended grill life. Firstly, the oil used during seasoning prote ts the grates from rust and
reates a non-sti k surfa e, making leaning easier. Se ondly, the jui es and fats from food
vaporize during grilling, reating a signature flavor that improves over time. Lastly,
seasoning helps to prevent rust-staining and gives you years of top-not h, non-sti k, easy-
are grilling. It's re ommended to season your new grill right after getting it, and then on e
a year.

CAUTION: Never use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel, kerosene, har oal lighter
fluid, or similar liquids to start or “freshen up” a fire in this applian e. Keep all su h liquids
well away from the applian e when in use.
PAGE 15

2. Follow all instru tions for loading the hopper with pellets, and avoid overfilling the
hopper, whi h an ause the pellets to jam and prevent proper ombustion.
3. Start the grill a ording to the Grill Startup Guide in the Manual and allow it to heat
up to the desired temperature before adding food.
4. Monitor the temperature of the grill losely and make any ne essary adjustments to
maintain a onsistent heat. Avoid over-firing the grill, as this an ause damage to the
grill and affe t the quality of your food.
5. Regularly lean the burn grate and hopper to remove any debris or blo kages that
ould affe t the performan e of the grill.
6. It is important to follow these re ommendations arefully to ensure the safe and
effe tive operation of your built-in ele tri pellet grill. Over-firing the grill, or exposing
it to ex essively high temperatures, an ause damage to the grill and in rease the
risk of fire.
7. To avoid over-firing the grill, it is important to follow the instru tions set forth in this
manual arefully, and to avoid making any modifi ations to the grill that ould affe t
its performan e. Always use the re ommended fuel and avoid overfilling the hopper
or allowing the grill to heat up ex essively before adding food.
