smoke/odour will dissipate after a few minutes.
HANDLING
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• This device does not have an On / Off switch! As soon as you connect
the
power plug (5)
to the power supply, the device begins heating up!
The
indicator light (1)
turns on and is illuminated as long as the device
has reached its required baking temperature.
• The
baking surfaces (6, 7)
become very hot during use. Be sure not to
touch the hot
baking surfaces (6, 7)
. When the device is closed, the
edges of the
baking surfaces (6, 7)
are exposed on the sides and the
rear! Danger of burns!
OPERATION:
• Fold the
lid (2)
down by the
handle (3)
and lock it using the
lock (4)
.
The
lock (4)
must audibly lock in.
• Connect the
power plug (5)
of the device to an approved, properly
installed power outlet. The
indicator light (1)
will switch on and the
device will begin heating up.
• Let the device heat up only until the
indicator light (1)
switches off.
• After heating up, open the
lock (4)
and open the
lid (2)
with the
upper
baking surface upwards (6)
by using the
handle (3)
.
• Lay the prepared food (see next chapter: Sandwich Preparation) on
the
lower baking surface (7)
.
• Put the
lid (2)
down using the

• ATTENTION! To pause or switch off the device, you must pull the
power plug (6)
from the power outlet. This device does not have
an On / Off switch and does not switch off automatically.
Therefore, never leave the device unattended while in
operation!
SANDWICH PREPARATION:
• For gold-brown toasted sandwiches, we recommend spreading a little butter
over each bread half which comes into contact with the
baking surfaces (6, 7)
.
The filling is applied between the unbuttered bread sides.
• If the bread surfaces are not spread with butter, it is possible that the
baking
surfaces (6, 7)
should be oiled again after the device has been used a number
of times.
• Depending on the height of the sandwich being prepared, the device might not
shut / lock completely. This is not a cause for concern! If the sandwich is flat, you
can join the
baking surfaces (6, 7)
together securely by sliding the
lock (4)
.
ATTENTION: Do not close with force! Do not exercise any pressure on the
handle (3)
because the device could tip over and it is possible that hot oil, fat or
liquids could leak out. Danger of burns!
• Toast the sandwich for approx. 3 minutes. The toasting time can vary according
to taste and the type of bread used. This device toasts on both sides and locks
in flavours.
• For the filling, we recommend cheese slices. Processed cheeses are less suitable
because they melt stronger at high temperatures.
• Do not over-garnish the sandwiches because the filling could ooze out, run out
too much and burn onto the
baking surfaces (6, 7)
or the device will not close
properly.
CLEANING AND CARE
ATTENTION:
Turn of the device by pulling the
power plug (5)
and let the device cool completely!
• Do not allow stains to dry on the device. Clean the device and the
baking
surfaces (6, 7)
as soon as possible after use.
• Do not immerse the device in water!
• The
baking surfaces (6, 7)
and the outer surfaces can be cleaned with a damp
cloth and a mild dish detergent. Then rub the surfaces dry with a soft cloth.
• The
power cord (5)
must be cleaned with a dry cloth only!
• When cleaning the device and the
baking surfaces (6, 7)
do not use any harsh
cleaning agents, steel brushes, scouring powder or other hard items for
cleaning which could scratch the surfaces and the non-stick coating of the
baking surfaces (6, 7)
.
• Let the device cool off completely before storing and wind the
power cord (5)
around the
cord holder (9)
.
