feature replaceable memory-foam Comply™ Canal Tips for

your hearing from dangerous noise levels—including
sudden impulse noise like gunshots—without interfering
with your ability to hear safe ambient sounds. So you enjoy

awareness and the ability to hear important conversations

NOISE-REDUCING FILTERS
Filtered Sonic Defenders use established, non-electronic technology
to reduce dangerous noise while allowing the hearing of safe-level
conversations, commands, and ambient sounds.

Sound waves above 85dB hit the ridges inside the filter.

narrowing walls and cancel themselves out.

PATENTED EARLOCK®RETENTION RINGS
SureFire Sonic Defenders feature our innovative EarLock outer rings,
which lock the earplugs in place with seven unique grab points. A low-
profile design allows for easy wearing under a hat, helmet, mask, headset,
or supplemental muffs—even while using the phone.

HEARING PROTECTION

reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise.
Consult instructions for proper fit. Failure to
follow instructions could result in hearing loss
and/or injury. EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra fit
most people; however, no hearing protection
fits everyone. If proper fit cannot be achieved
following instructions, discontinue use. Do
not use in environments with extreme air/
water pressure or where abrupt pressure
changes occur. For swimming use we
recommend polymer flange-stemmed Sonic
Defenders®models.

ORDERING INFORMATION
EP7 Sonic Defenders®Ultra are available in clamshell retail packaging, featuring a
single pair of earplugs in a plastic carry case, and bulk packaging, featuring 25 pairs
of poly-bagged earplugs in plastic carrying cases.
CLEANING & PRODUCT LIFE
EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra typically last up to 6+ months,
depending on usage and care. Clean earpieces with mild
soap and water and allow to air dry. Clean foam tips by
wiping with a clean cloth and rinsing with water, then air
dry. Replace earplugs when they become stiff and
hardened. For optimal performance, foam tips should be
replaced every 2–4 weeks or when soiled, with
replacement tips available from SureFire.
RADIO SYSTEM EARPIECE USE
With its noise-reducing lter removed** , an EP7 earplug
can be used as a comfortable, high-performance earpiece
with many popular radio communication systems.
**EP7s provide a reduced level of hearing protection with
noise-reducing lters removed.
To install & test:
1. Roll Comply™Canal Tip of color-coded (red filter for
right) EP7 into a thin, round cylinder, being careful not
to unscrew tip from stem.
2. Starting with the EarLock®retention ring of the right
earplug oriented slightly backward, rotate the earplug
forward while inserting the foam tip deep into the right
ear canal. Fit the retention ring to the natural contour
of concha bowl surrounding the ear canal to lock
the earplug in place. Hold in place 15-30 seconds while
foam tip fully expands in ear canal.
3. Check earplug’s seal by placing your fingertip over the
outer hole of filter and removing. Detection of a slight
suction indicates a proper seal.
4. Repeat process with other earpiece for left ear.
5. Test by clapping, with filter caps out. If no noticeable
decrease in volume, reinsert and retest.
6. To block lower-level noise* in quiet environments,
insert attached filter cap into filter’s hole and push in
until snug.
* Inserting filter cap negates noise-reducing filter’s ability to let
ambient sounds & conversations pass safely through.
