2.6 Humidfication by circulated water
2.6.1 Water demand
A certain loss of water arises due to evaporation. To prevent
an increase in the concentration of minerals caused by this
loss, continuous bleed-off must take place and an equal
volume of fresh make-up water must be supplied.
A suitable water bleed-off rate is determined by the pH
value and the concentration of calcium and bicarbonate
in the water. The water bleed-off flow can be determined
by following the description under "Humidifier selection".
The water flow rate required can be set according to the
installation instructions.
2.6.2 Connecting the humidifier to the water system
The water must be of ”drinking quality”. The supply is
controlled by means of a built-in float valve.
Connect the supply pipe (1) to the float valve inlet, size 15
conn. Fit the shut-off valve (4) and a water filter (2) to the
supply pipe if the water contains impurities. The water filter
mesh should not exceed 500 µm. The shut-off valve and the
water filter are not included in the supply. The BCXZ-1-71
water trap is available as an accessory.
The outlet pipe (5) size 32R conn., is located centrally below
the inspection door. It can be fitted with a cleanable type
BCXZ-1-71 water trap (6) and must be run without any
reduction in diameter to a floor gulley.
2.7 Humidification by ”once-through water”
2.7.1 Connecting the humidifier to the mains water
system
Fit a constant-flow valve (3) to the inlet of the distribution
tube, size 15 conn. Then connect the supply pipe (1) to the
constant-flow valve. Fit a solenoid-type or motor-driven
shut-off valve (4) and a water filter (2) to the supply pipe, if
the water contains impurities. The mesh of the water filter
should not exceed 500 µm.
The outlet pipe (5), size 32R conn., is located centrally below
the inspection door. It can be equipped with a type BCXZ-
1-71 water trap and must be run without any reduction in
diameter, to a floor gulley.
The shut-off valve and the water filter are not included in the
supply. The BCXZ-1-71 water trap is available as an acces-
sory. The constant-flow valve controls the supply of fresh
water required at a constant rate. A water softener should
be used if the water is hard.
The arrangement of fittings on the inlet pipe must enable
the removal of the constant-flow valve for cleaning. Required
water pressure upstream of the constant-flow valve = 3 bar,
max. permissible pressure = 11 bar.
