WARNING AND CAUTIONS:
• TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH, TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND
TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
• Use only copper wire with this device. Do not use with aluminum wire.
• A single branch circuit shall supply the device.
• For INDOOR use only.
• When used with power output Swidget Inserts, use only appropriate Class 2 connectors with
interconnecting cables.
• Any output cable connected to the Class 2 output shall be routed away from the receptacle outlet slots.
• Class 2 output connections are not intended for supporting products or appliances.
• If you are not sure about any part of these instructions, consult an electrician.
• Do not exceed total 15A - 125VAC rating.
• ”CONTROLLED” labeled receptacle only to be used with maximum load types:
• Resistive: 1800W
• Motor: 0.5HP
• Inductive: 8A@125VAC (PF0.4)
• To be used with a Swidget Insert installed at all times.
• ONLY to be used with APPROVED/CERTIFED Swidget Inserts (see www.swidget.com for current listing
and approved vendors and distributors).
• Use only with listed inserts designed for use with this outlet.
DESCRIPTION:
functions and capabilities by simply installing a Swidget Insert. Many of the Swidget Inserts can be used on their own, like a nightlight or USB charger, or they can connect to an ever-growing number
of systems via Wi-Fi, Z-Wave or ZigBee protocols allowing you to control and monitor the Swidget Outlet. Inserts are safely and easily installed/removed from the body of the Swidget Outlet without
the use of any tools.
INSTALLATION:
1. TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH, TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
3. Wire the device as per the wiring diagram provided. Use the wire nuts provided. The wire nuts can accept three #14AWG wires.
4. Connect device black wire to the hot wire (black) in the wall box.
5. Connect device white wire to the neutral wire (white) in the wall box.
7. Mount device to wall box using the provided screws. Attach wall plate (sold separately) and then restore power.

OPERATION:
MANUAL OUTLET SWITCHING - Works with connected Insert only
1. Tap Insert button to toggle state of outlet ON or OFF.
Wi-Fi NETWORK PAIRING/JOINING
1. Press Insert button and hold for 12-15 seconds until the INSERT LED turns solid RED, then release.
LED will begin to rapidly blink WHITE for approximately 30 seconds and then blink GREEN to indicate
Insert is in DISCOVERY MODE.
2. Follow App based pairing steps for Wi-Fi connection.

INSTALLATION:
1. TO AVOID SHOCK OR DEATH, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST
THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE INSTALLING OR REMOVING INSERT
2. This device is to be installed in a Swidget device ONLY.
3. Orient the Insert to line up with the pins in the device cavity. NOTE: alignment pins will prevent incorrect installation.
4. Push Insert into the device cavity until the two side latches engage.
5. Re-enable power to the circuit breaker.
6. a. FOR FIRST TIME INSTALLATION FROM NEW, THE INSERT LED WILL BLINK WHITE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS
TO PREPARE THE DEVICE. INSERT WILL BLINK GREEN WHEN READY FOR NETWORK PAIRING.
b. For Inserts being moved, the Insert will power up with the previous location settings.

When paired with a Swidget device, the Wi-Fi Control Insert allows the user remote control and the ability to monitor power used by the device. The Wi-Fi
Control Insert connects to your home’s wireless router via the App (Android and iOS). Once connected the Insert can be monitored and set up for use.

FONCTIONNEMENT:

2. Ce dispositif doit être installé seulement dans un appareil Swidget.
3. Orienter l’Insert pour aligner avec les broches dans la cavité de l’appareil. REMARQUE: les broches d’alignement empêcheront une
installation incorrecte.
4. Pousser l’Insert dans la cavité de l’appareil jusqu’à ce que les deux loquets latéraux s’enclenchent.
5. Réactiver l’alimentation à l’appareil.
