Air Precleaner Installations Instructions for the 800 - 900 series 5-ton
Trucks
1. Check contents to ensure all components
are in the kit and are in serviceable
condition.

2. 900 Series truck - remove rain cap from
the air intake, which is located behind the
cab on the driver side of the vehicle.
800 Series truck – remove rain cap from
air intake, the rain cap will be located on the
driver side front fender.
3. After unpacking the assembly, verify that
the clamp is on the outside of the throat and
the rubber insert ring is located inside the
throat of the precleaner. The photograph
shows the proper assembly.

4. Using the Step 3 assembly, place this
assembly onto the air inlet pipe on the truck.
5. Slide the clamp down around the base of
the precleaner and tighten with a 7/16” deep
well nut driver or wrench. Verify that the
clamp has secured the assembly. Do not
exceed 65 in-lbs on the clamp.

6. Please dispose of all removed parts and
packing materials in the appropriate
receptacle.
