We’re pleased to welcome you to a global family of athletes embracing more comfortable, more effective time trailing positions. Sync
Ergonomics strongly recommends the installation of your Sync components to be undertaken by a qualified bicycle mechanic,
experienced with time trial and triathlon bicycles. Irrespective of your level of mechanical experience, please read the following guide
as it contains information vital for correct setup and use.
This document has been prepared to guide you through the assembly of your Project 0.2 EVO (EVO) ecosystem. Care must be taken
during the installation process to ensure proper function and ongoing maintenance must be performed to ensure longevity of your Sync
Ergonomics components.
WARNING: In order to be installed correctly the components of Project 0.2 EVO require specialised knowledge of a time trial bicycle. It is recommended that
installation should be performed by a qualified bicycle mechanic. Improper assembly of any of the components of EVO could cause damage to the
product(s) and/or bicycle, may lead to loss of control of the bicycle, and may lead to personal injury, or in severe cases even death. Sync Ergonomics
assumes no responsibility for improper assembly and installation of the product(s).
WARNING: Please have your bicycle and Sync Ergonomics products regularly inspected for possible damage from use, especially from instances such as
accidents, crashes, and/or impact that occurs with travel. In the event of an accident, crash and/or impact in travel, it is strongly recommended you stop
using your bicycle immediately and take your bicycle to a professional bicycle mechanic for inspection to ensure proper function and safety. In the case
of damage, replace affected parts immediately. Even when no damage is visible, there may be internal damage to the integrity of a component. Failure
to replace damaged parts could result in loss of control, and may lead to personal injury, or in severe cases even death. Sync Ergonomics assumes no
responsibility for improper maintenance and inspection of the product(s).
Sync Ergonomics components are free from materials and manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months starting from the original
purchase date, unless otherwise stated in our warranty policy, detailed on our website at www.syncergonomics.com. This warranty is
non-transferable and only applicable to the original customer who purchased this product and this product only. Any modifications to
the product, other than for its original intended use, such as drilling, will effectively and immediately void the warranty.
For more information on our warranty policy and instructions for completing a warranty claim, please visit our website for full details at

WARNING: Your bike may require additional tools to what is mentioned above and we cannot guarantee that these recommendations will cover the
requirements of all bikes. If in doubt, ensure assembly is handled by a qualified bicycle mechanic, experienced with the assembly and setup of a time trial
bicycle.
The EVO ecosystem is designed to function seamlessly with your time trial bicycle. When assembling EVO on your Specialized Shiv Tri Disc,
it is necessary to replace existing upper clamp assembly with the Sync Ergonomics Shiv Tri Clamp Adapter and Carbon Plate. DO NOT
attempt to install EVO components in any way other than described in this set up guide.
WARNING: Do not attempt to modify your Sync components, outside of what is described within this setup guide as appropriate for assembly. Modification
may impact the structural integrity of a components and could result in component failure, or failure of the complete system. Sync Ergonomics is not liable
for product damage and/or personal injury resulting from improper assembly.

EVO Is designed to function with the original base bar and spacers provided with your Shiv Tri Disc. Your Shiv is supplied with a variety of
spacers to allow you achieve the perfect fit when combined with the EVO ecosystem. As the EVO Clamp Adapter, Carbon Plate and
EVO Extension Clamps are the equivalent of a single 40 mm spacer, this will need to be removed from your central column, in order to
achieve the same pad stack setting.
Set your stack height using the standard Shiv Tri Disc studs and spacers, in combination with the Shiv Tri Disc Clamp Adapter. At the
minimum, the Shiv Tri Disc Clamp Adapter is required without any additional spacers and in this case, the 30 mm studs are required.
You have been provided with a Shiv-specific EVO Clamp Adapter. This is designed to replace the OEM upper assembly on your Shiv Tri
Disc. Please note, with no stack spacers used, the minimum stud length is 30 mm (Clamp Adapter only).
Place the EVO Clamp Adapter on top of your OEM Shiv base bar, and any additional spacers you may require. Finish the assembly using
the original M8 nuts designed specifically for the Shiv Tri Disc. Ensure that when fully assembled, the upper end of the nut does not protrude
past the top of the EVO Clamp Adapter assembly.
The 10 mm EVO Carbon Plate provides a stable base for the mounting of the EVO Extension Clamps. Ensure that you run your electronic
wiring through the grooves in the Clamp Adapter assembly prior to clamping of the EVO Carbon Plate. The assembly requires 4 x 20 mm
countersunk screws in the center of the plate and 4 x 14 mm countersunk screws for additional support. DO NOT continue with assembly
of your EVO ecosystem until all 8 bolts have been properly located and installed. We recommend the application of Motorex Bike Grease
for the screw connections of the EVO Carbon Plate.
You have been provided with a set of Specialized Shiv Tri Disc EVO Extension Clamps. Do not attempt to install the Specialized-specific
EVO Clamp on a bike other than a Specialized Shiv Tri Disc. We recommend the application of MOTOREX Bike Grease for the clamp
bolts.
Secure the EVO Extension Clamps with the 20 mm countersunk screws through the bottom of the EVO Carbon Plate. Do not attach the
top cap until you have completed setup of your system and run electronic wiring.
NOTE: For short spacer stacks, it may be more convenient to attach the EVO Clamps to the Carbon Plate prior to securing the plate to the adapter. This
provides ease of access to the under side of the EVO Carbon Plate, for setting the correct torque of the clamp screws.
Low Rise 3D extensions are designed to work with Shimano SW-R9160 and SRAM eTap CLICS. As such, Low Rise 3D extensions are free of
cable entry ports. The laser etched DO NOT CUT sections of the extension tubes are required for:
1) Clamping within the EVO Extension Clamps (clamp end of extensions)
2) Internal clamping (expansion) of the Shimano shifters (grip end of extensions)
It is inevitable that tube cutting will be required to achieve the combination of height and length that you require. Low Rise 3D extensions
are intentionally long, allowing for the perfect setup post cutting. When cutting, ensure that the tube ends are cut at 90 degrees. Ensure
that the extensions are properly deburred before inserting into the EVO Extension Clamps. The precise fit of these components means
that any additional material (in the form of a bur) will prevent insertion. Inappropriate tube preparation may lead to damage of the
clamp bores and may further obstruct tube insertion.
WARNING: Ensure you do not crush tubes during clamping and cutting. The tight tolerances on clamp bore requires a round tube for insertion.
WARNING: DO NOT DRILL OR MODIFY extensions for cable entry/exit, Low Rise 3D extensions are designed to work with Shimano SW-R9160 and SRAM eTap
CLICS only. Any such modification immediately voids the product warranty. Sync Ergonomics is not liable for product damage and/or personal injury resulting
from product modification.
When cut to the correct length and height, secure the extensions in the EVO Extension Clamps with the two grub screws provided (pre-
inserted into the clamps). We recommend the application of a light textured assembly paste (carbon paste) between the extension and
the inside of the clamp to ensure a secure fit. Successive loosening and tightening of these screws over time, will require the reapplication
of a light strength retaining compound (LOCTITE 222).
WARNING: Ensure you do not crush tubes by over torqueing the clamp screws. The tight tolerances on EVO Extension Clamps require a round tube for
insertion and removal. Crushing of the tube may lead to the inability to remove a tube from the extension clamp body.
WARNING: We do not recommend the use of carbon extensions in EVO Extension Clamps. The grub screw clamping method is likely to damage a carbon
tube and in such instances, may lead to tube failure.
