TA RVT Series User manual

Applications: TA thermostats are used
together with TA thermostat valves for
controlling the temperature of each
roomindividually.
Function: When room temperature ex-
ceeds the thermoststat's setting mark,
the expansion medium increases in
volume and starts closing the valve.
When room temperature falls, the volu-
me decreases and the valve's return
springopensthevalve.
Nominal temperature range: The ther-
mostat's various settings provide the
following (approximate) room tempera-
tures:

These temperatures apply for a nominal
lift according to SIB M785 During nor-
mal operating conditions the desired

Anwendungsbereich: TA Thermostat-
kopfe werden zusammen mit TA Ther-
mostatventilen fur individuelle Raum-
temperaturregelungverwendet.
Funktion: Wenn die Raumtemperatur
uber den am Thermostat eingestellten
Wert ansteigt, dehnt sich das Expansion-
smittel aus und beginnt, das Ventil zu
schlie0en. Bei sinkender Raumtempera-
tur verringert sich das Volumen des
Expansionsmittels, und die Ruckholfe-
der offnet allmahlich. das Ventil.
Nomineller Temperaturbereich: Die
verschiedenen Thermostat-Einstellung-
en ergeben ungefahr die nachstehenden

1.Mounting and adjustment of the ther-

a. Screw off the protective cover of the
valve (savethe protectivecover, see para-
graphg).
b. Fastenthe actuator

2. Adjustment of the temperaturerange

toolto press the pins
out.
3.Lockingthe handwheel
a. The handwheelisset to the desiredtem-
perature.
b. Remove the handwheel without
changingthe positionof theadjusting ring.
c. Pull the two pinsout of the adjustingring
and press them tight on either side of the
stop lugof theholder.
d. Pushonthe handwheel.
e. The handwheel is now locked at the
desiredtemperature and cannot be altered
by unauthorizedpersons.

hende Leckage kann Wasserschaden ve-

2. Begrenzungdes Temperaturbereiches
Bei Maximal- oder Minimalbegrenzung
der Temperatur wiefolgt verfahren:

a. Der Drehknopf ist auf den gewunschten
Begrenzungswert, zB. 7 auf der Skala,
eingestellt.
b. Den Drehknopf herausziehen, ohne die

ziehen und im Gegenuhrzeigersinn zum
Anschlagansatz des Halters hin verset-

BEACHTEN: Die ursprunglichen Lagen der
Anschlagstifte sind

Stifte mit Stiftwerzeug 50 349-007 heraus-
drucken.
3.Verriegelung des Drehknopfes
a. Der Drehknopf ist auf gewunschte Tem-
peratureingestellt.
b. Den Drehknopf herauszid-ten,ohne die
Lagedes Anschlagringeszu andern.
c. Die beiden Stifte aus dem Anschlagring
herausziehen und auf je einer Seite des
Anschlagansatzes des Halters festdruc-
ken.
d. Den Drehknopffestdrucken.
e. Der Drehknopfistnunverriegelt.

leur logement et les enfoncer de part et

in einer Lage zwischen rechtwinklig und parallel zur Wand
montieren. Ventil und Thermostat so montieren, daB der
Fuhlkorper des Thermostaten von der fur den Raum repra-
sentativen Lufttemperatur beeinfluBt wird.Wenn eine auOer-
gewohnliche Beeinflussung durch Warme oder Kalte nicht zu
vermeiden ist, muO RVT 60 B verwendet werden. RVT 60 B
kann in beliebiger Lageam Ventil montiert werden. Die Mon-
tagedes losenFiihlkorpersist unter Punkt6beschrieben.
Mit dem Thermostat RVT 50 B, eingestellt auf die niedrigste
Stufe, offnetsichdas Ventil beica.6"C
Raumtemperatur und verhindert so das Einfrierendes Heiz-
korpers.
Mitdem Thermostat RVT 50
C kann mandas Ventil ganz sch-
lieBen, auch wenn die Raumtemperatur noch so niedrig ist.
Die Skala des Thermostaten hat sowohl eine Markierungfur
Frostschutzlage
0 als auch eine Markierungfur ganz gesch-
lossene Lage '0'. Bei Einstellung der Frostschutzlage offnet
das Thermostatventil bei ca 6 "C
(43 "F) Raumtemperatur. In
Lage '0' ist das Thermostatventilunabhangig von der Raum-
temperaturgeschlossen.
1. Montagedes Thermostaten
a) Die Schutzkappe vom Ventil abschrauben, aufheben und
zum Absperren des Ventils bei der Demontagedes Heizkor-
persverwenden. Siehe Punkt7.
b) Den Thermostatso am Ventil befestigen, daO die Skala am
Isolator gut sichtbar wird. Der Isolator hat einen Innensechs-
kant, derzum SechskantdesVentils paOt. Die~berwurfmutter
soanziehen, daO der Thermostatstabilsitzt.
2. Begrenzungdes Temperaturbereichsnachoben
Den Thermostat auf den gewunschten Wert einstellen. Den
Drehgriff ohne ~nderungder Einstellung entfernen. Einen
Anschlagstift in das Loch rechts von der eingestellten Ziffer
stecken undbiszum Anschlageindrucken.
3. Begrenzungdes Temperaturbereichsnachunten
Wie unter 2, aber mit Stift in Loch links von der eingestellten
Ziffer.
4. Sicherung der Thermostateinstellung auf gewunschte
temperatur
Wie unter 2, aber mit Stiften auf beiden Seiten von der
eingestelltenZiffer.
5. MarkierungdeseingestelltenWertes
Die Einstellung fur die gewunschte Raumtemperatur kann
man markieren,daO der Drehgriffabgezogen undso wieder
aufgesteckt wird, daO der 'Markierungspunkt
' genau auf die
Ziffer fur diegewunschteRaumtemperaturzeigt.
6. Montagevon losemFuhlkorpermit Kapillarrohr
Den Halter fur den Fuhlkorper so befestigen, daO er nicht
durch Warme vom Heizkorperoder vom Rohr beeinfluOt wird.
Den Fuhlkorper mit Kappe in die Halterung drucken und das
Kapillarrohr mit den mitgelieferten Klammern an der Wand
befestigen. Bitte darauf achten, daO der Fuhlkorper nicht di-
rekter Sonnenbestrahlungoder Zug von Fenstern und Tijren
ausgesetztwird.
7.Ausbau von Heizkorpern
Wichtig: Bei Demontage eines Heizkorpers muB das Ther-
mostatoberteil gegen eine Schutzkappe oder ein Handrad
ausgetauschtwerden, da ansonsten bei fallender Temperatur
das Thermostatoberteiloffnet und dies eine Undichtigkeitzur
Folgehatte.

Positionner le thermostat a lavaleur maxi souhaitbe. Retirer
lapoignee en prenantgarde de ne pas modifier la positiondu
reglage. Enfoncer une goupille de blocage dans le trou situe
immediatement
a droitedu chiffreselectionne.
3. Limitationminide laplagedereglage
Mgme procedure que pour la limitation maxi, mais cette
fois-ci lagoupilledoit etreenfonceeimmediatement
a gauche
du chiffreselectionne.
4.Blocage du thermostat a latemperaturede consigne
On procede de la meme fa~onqu'au point 2, mais en pla~ant
unegoupillede chaquec6tedu chiffreselectionne.
5. Reperagede la positiondereglage
La position de reglage correspondant a la temperature
souhaitee est facilement reperable,
it suffit de positionner le
"point-repere"en face du chiffreselectionne.
6. Montagedu detecteur h distance et du tube capillaire
Choisir pour le detecteur un emplacement ou il ne sera pas
soumis
a I'influence directe du soleil, des courants d'air, du
corps de chauffe ou d'une conduite d'eau chaude. Le tube
capillairese fixe au mur
a I'aide des attaches qui sont jointes
A la livraison. Fixer le detecteur et appliquer le couvercle sur
leboitier.
7. Lorsdu demontaged'unradiateur
Si un radiateur doit etre demonte, il conviendrade remplacer
la tete thermostatiquepar le capuchon de protectionou une
poignee de reglage manuelle. Autrement, le robinet pourrait
s'ouvrir involontairement pendant le demontage sous I'effet
d'une baissede latemperature.

The RVT 50 B et RVT 50 Cthermostatshould always befitted
horizontallyon the valve, and may be inany position between
the perpendicularand parallelto the wall. Installthevalve and
the thermostat insuch a way that the thermostat sensor is in-
fluenced by air temperature representativeof the room con-
cerned.Where abnormal influence of heat or cold cannot be
avoided, then RVT 60
B should be used.
With the RVT 50
B thermostaton its lowest setting, the valve
will open at an ambient temperature of
6 "C (43 "F), thereby
protectingthe radiatorfromfreezingdamages
Withthe RVT 50 Cthermostat,thevalvecanbeclosedcomple-
tely irrespectiveof how low the roomtemperatureis. The ther-
mostat scale has a markingfor the frost preventionposition0
and also a marking for the completely shut-off position '0'.
When it is set to the frost prevention position, the thermostat
valve opens at a roomtemperatureof about6"C (43
"F). Inthe
closed position, the thermostat valve remains closed regard-
lessof how lowtheroomtemperaturebecomes.
1. Fittingthe thermostat.
a) Unscrewthe protectivecap from thevalve. (saveprotective
cap, see paragraph
7).
b) Securethethermostatto thevalvesothatthe index markon
the insulator is clearly visible. The insulator has an inset
hexagon that fits the hexagon on the valve. Tighten the lock
nutsothatthethermostatisfirmlysecured.
2. Limitingthe temperaturerangeupwards
Set the thermostat to the desired level. Remove the hand-
wheel without changingthe setting.
Insert a stop pin in the nearest hole to the right of the set
figure.
3. Limitingthe temperaturerangedownwards
The same procedure as in paragraph 2 but the pin is now
placedinthe nearestholeto the leftof the set figure.
4. Lockingthe thermostat at the desiredtemperature
The same procedure as in paragraph 2 but with a stop pin
locatedon each side of thesetfigure.
5. Markingthe set value
The setting giving the desired room temperature can be
marked by removingthe handwheeland locatingitso that the
"memory point" isoppositethedesiredfigure.
6. Fittinga separatesensor with capillary tubing
Placethe sensor retainer in such a way that the sensor is not
influenced by heat from the radiator or heating pipes. Also
ensure that the sensor is not subjected to direct sun radiation
or draughts from windows and doors. Press the sensor firmly
into the retainerand then fit the casing. Fix the capillary tube
tothewall withthe clipssupplied.
7. Removingthe radiator fitted with RVT 50 B and RVT 60 B
thermostats
If a radiator is to be removed, the thermostat unit must be
replaced by a protectivecap or a manual control handwheel.
Aclosedthermostatvalve opens when the temperaturedrops
andmaycauseleakage.
